INTRODUCTION
Travel and tourism industry is very ancient and it
also has been picking up popularity day by day.
Now a days there are so many peoples are keen of
travelling and prefer to go on holidays, are
choosing travel to abroad. The aim of this report
is to understand the role of travel and tourism
sector in different countries and different
destinations. The case study starts with history
and structure of travel and tourism sector, along
with this it also introduce about the functions of
government and non-government and
international travel and tourism industries. Along
with this, the economic policies and legal charges
are also having been discussed in order to
evaluate the influence of international travel and
tourism agencies. The impact of demand and
supply within the travel and tourism sectors it
also has been evaluated
Travel and tourism is the one of the most famous
industry in overall world. Everyone likes to travel to
spend their holidays. In ancient times, only rich used to
go for vacations on abroad destinations. The World
travel counselling has been indicated that tourism
creates 10% outputs in total global economy and 1% in
providing jobs (Moutinho, 2011). The historical
review of travel and tourism sector, is as follow: -
Before 1945
In old times and approximately till the end of
16th century, all the peoples were living in agriculture
communities, rural area and local communities. After
1950s, travelling industries and sectors that involves
transport operators, travel agents, tour agents and
hotels all tended to work separately. As per the
development in time, the sector of travel and tourism
services to customers industries also had been grown
up fast. Many hotels, railway and airlines are
connected to this business in order to providing
quality.
1945-1979
Since 1945, it is the year when travel industry had been come in
economic market. These sectors was also plays an important in growth of
economic rate of UK. Form mid-1950s, in UK there was a great
development of travel sectors; it was also considered as business activities
that are helpful in providing employment. Therefore the industry was
treated as the one of the biggest tool of economic growth and
development (Evans, Stonehouse and Campbell, 2012). People of
medium income with rich background started to take interest in travelling
of different destinations and different countries,
1980 to present
Form 1980s, it was expected that travel and tourism industry
helpful in providing 266 million jobs in a year. By the time, there were
several airlines and transport services involved in travel and tourism
sectors. Along with this, there was so many big companies and business
established in UK and Europe that only deals in travelling and hotel
industries.
