INTRODUCTION
In this presentation the role of government and different
sectors have been includes in relation with travel and
tourism sector. How the different level of government can
affect the tourism business and what role the economy play
in travel and tourism sector in relation to the economy of
China and UK.

2.1Function of government, government
sponsored bodies and international agencies
in travel and tourism
UK and China have their own government and its norms.
Which directly or indirectly influences the operations of the
business. The government aims to support all the sectors
operating in an economy for both country's growth and
development so as it supports by various function to the travel
and tourism sector.

There are many international agencies and government
supported bodies which affects the travels and tourism sectors
operations in UK and China. Some of these agencies are:
UN(United Nations)
WTO(World Tourism Organisation)
WTTC(World Travel And Tourism Council)
ICA(International Civil Aviation)
IATA(International Air Transport Association)

All of these organisations jointly works with the government
and the private sector to operate the business in travel and tourism
sector. The government, government sponsored bodies and the
international agencies performs various function and they are:
Attractions Management: The government of a country retain
appropriate fund to have a proper management and taking care of
the attractions which are in a country. Attractions can be natural,
historical, artificial or any other by which people travel to a
country. This is taken care by the government.

 Reducing the negative effects: When tourist travel to UK
and China they may feel insecure and unsafe because crime
may happen in any way.
 Planning: Planning about the travel and tourism sector
ascertaining the budget which will be spent on this sector in
a particular time period according to the demand is also done
by the government.
 Legal Framework And Regulations: The government of
UK and China also forms all the possible rules and
regulations which are important for this sectors operations to
have fair business practices.

2.2Role of local and national economic policy
influences the success of the travel and
tourism sector.
Local and national economic policy are very essential part for
operating any business in the economy of UK and China.
Similarly in UK the TUI group has been influenced by the
local and national policies of travel and tourism sector. The
economic policy in a country describes how much a company
is willing to spend on different sectors of the country for the
development of those sectors.

 Visa and Immigration Policies: In UK the government
have a very strict policy of the visa allotment and
immigration.
 Taxes Levied on Tourists:The taxes levied on the
tourists are partial the Chinese tourists have to pay less
for visa and the Indians has to pay more because
Chinese spend more in UK than Indians which
influences the tourist behaviour.

 Exchange Rate: The exchange rate at which UK's
currency is exchanged by other country's currency also
states the economic conditions of the country.
 Access to travel: When tourists are allotted visa for
travel than they have the authority to go to only those
regions which there visa specifies otherwise action
could be taken against them.
