Hospitality business provides services to people who perform activities associated with
providing accommodation facility. In hospitality industry there are various hotels, motels, etc.
There are many different associations which are working to provide related services such as
transportation, guiding, accommodation and in lieu of it they charge some fees (Aggett and
Busby, 2011). For e.g. when a family wants to travel some place as outing then they have to
book tickets for travelling, accommodation facility, help of guide, places they want top surf, etc.
are some related operations which are must. In starting days TUI provides services only which
are related to residing, i.e. Hotel. But in current situation there are many other facilities which
are providing by hotels such as pick and drop services, well furnished rooms, consultancy
services, etc. it is important that manager has to take care of activities which are associated and
interrelated to each other.
There are many changes taking place in this sector and very frequently. These days hotel
provide cab or bus services as well. Some times they have joint collaboration with cab operators
while some time they have their own cars and buses. Hospitality industry give chance to
consumer to plan tour as their wish (Bunakov and et. al., 2015). There are possibilities that in
case company has rigid plans then consumer may not like to avail facilities. Travel is most
important component in hotel company. This generates business for hotels as well as tour and
travel operators. If family is going for outing then it is must that they will go out for visiting, so
hotels provide services of pick and drop and guide also.
These days travel and tour business have plans which are flexible as per need of
customer. Need of society varies with season, purpose, culture, age group, etc. so it is beneficial
for company to come with variations. There are possibilities that group of people want to visit
place in less time whole some other group want to visit and stay there for longer period. Hence
it is essential to first analyse need of customer and then give policies. As demand arises there
are many options to satisfy it , so it is essential that manager has to regularly analyse market and
then frame policies. Due to increase in trend of outing travel business, hospitality sector is
growing this is beneficial for company as well as society.
There are many ways which help satisfy need and demand of society but most

appropriate and suitable option must be adopted. This helps in increase trust and faith of
consumer. There are many factors which affect business operations, these components can be
positive as well as negative (Burgess, Parish and Alcock, 2011). Strategies must be framed to
reduce impact of negative results. These results can become positive with the joint efforts of
hospitality and travel business, there are many complications which has to reduced by both
these company. There is close relation between both these industries.
For e.g. if group of friends is going out then there is change in their demand as
compared to group going out for attending conference. So this variations can be reduced
through collaboration of these industries. If four people are going out of seminar or conference
then they need proper room with fully furnished net facilities, timely pick and drop services,
food, etc. so this must helps to give satisfaction to consumer. It is important that manager can
contact consumer personally so any query or problem can be solved. There are many reasons of
people to go out, hence this is essential to have facilities so consumer does not switch to other
brand. As passage of time demand is changing so sources to satisfy them are also changing.
These days there is need of proper 24*7 internet facilities, so tour operations has to
collaborate with telecom services also. As per change in season and purpose tour operator also
contact dealer. Tour operators business is going and it keeps contact with various other related
sectors so customer need not to go some where out (Dickinson, Lumsdon and Robbins, 2011)).
These days there are various dealer which has hotels, transport facility, etc. which help to
satisfy varieties of needs. It is essential to know what is demand and accordingly take actions.
While considering all aspects it is essential that manager has to perform activities which aims at
minimising cost. As there is more competition in the field of hospitality, so cost and revenue are
important. If company is charging more price then consumer can shift to competitor's firm. This
is essential to generate sufficient products so cost can be paid off and there is good revenue for
organisation. There is important role of manager to analyse which source has to be opt to satisfy
need of consumer.
The relationship between hotels and tour business helps to customer as well as society.
In regard to society, there is more employment generations and through currency exchange
economic condition of company improves. While in case of customer, they do not have go out
of different services they get one stop solution. TUI has airlines and other transportation
services and they collaborate with various hotels which provide accommodation, food and place

to conduct party, seminars, etc. TUI has to collaborate with various hotels having different
themes this help company to satisfy need. In UK there are various festivals so at the time of
new Year and Christmas there are crowd of visitors so there are possibilities of some
consequences when some outer visits. Hence in this case there must be some contract between
tour sector and other related business sectors.
Above discussion shows that there fine relations between these sectors so this help to
improves position of company. There are possibilities that manager have to motivate employers
and keep eyes on working style. This helps to know grievances which consumer is having and
improves image of TUI in industry. There is change in culture where business is operating, so
some factors has to be kept in mind, so sentiments of visitor does not get hurt. There is contract
between consumer and company which talks about terms and conditions. It is essential to fulfil
demands and needs so consumer have good image in mind.
TASK 2
2.1 Implications of integration to hospitality industry
As this industry is growing so it is essential to make policies which are competent to
outer world. Integration is one of the most important component which help to assist consumer
with more efficiency. Mergers and acquisitions are the part of acquisition. There are policies
which help organisation to grow (Bunakov and et. al., 2015). There is competition among two
firms and then they create cut throat competition in industry. This helps company to achieve
business objectives most effectively and there is use of different and updated technology.
Through integration updated technology will be cheap and easily acceptable. Apart from this if
there is option of integration then this helps in growing business opportunities and give est
services to consumer. There are mainly two types of integration. They are - Vertical integration- When two organisations join hands with its supplier or with
company who is dealing in distribution chain, then that is known as vertical integrations.
This helps in reducing cost and there will be readily services available when needed. If
TUI join hands with Accor hotels then in case they want to operate in other state then it is
easy for them to satisfy demand of customers (Burgess, Parish and Alcock, 2011). This
helps in giving high quality services within specified time. Through vertical integration
there is some trust factor in mind of consumer and they prefer to take services. This

framing policies as per rules and regulations. Integration helps company to improve financial
position of both companies.
