INTRODUCTION
Travel and tourism sector is regarded as the most developing industry in UK because of
its contribution in economic development of the nation. However, instead of getting success, the
industry is affected by a range of factors which is discussed in the present study. Apart from this,
discussion has also been made on impact of environmental, social and economic factors on
tourism industry. Further, researcher has also discussed how the perspective of supply have been
changed to meet the effects of demand created for tourism.
3.2 Explain how supply has changed to meet the effects of the demand created
In the above section, several factors have been discussed that affects demand for travel
and tourism services and according to such aspects, travel entity of UK have changed the way of
supplying the services (Blanke and Chiesa, 2013). In this respect, emphasis has been laid on
economic aspects where in services are offered according to the purchasing parity of customers.
Since, purchasing power of customers in UK has been increasing; therefore they are ready to
spend money on travel and tourism services. Hence, more provisions for luxury services have
been added in travel and tourism sector. Due to economic stability, customers prefer to visit
different places in UK and that further increases the popularity of the tourist destination.
Technology is the most vital aspect on which demand for travel and tourism is getting
changed and this also allows customers to get in touch with the tourism entity. Thus, coping with
technological aspects, hospitality sector is able to promote the services to maximum number of
customers (Hall, Timothy and Duval, 2012). Hotels are also able to communicate properly with
the customers regarding the tour packages and service provision. Hence, communication
between customers and business entities are increasing accordingly. Different new services are
also integrated for various destinations of UK and that helps the customers to get knowledge
about the tourism trends. Technology is also used as a significant source of spreading awareness
about the destinations of UK and this appeal the visitors to get package for the same country.
With the help of online services, tourism related information have been communicated among
the customers. Along with this, it also helps the customers to make reservation for their tour
package.

To enhance the efficiency of travel and tourism services, government of UK have
declined rates of tariffs and taxes so that frequency of visitors can be increased. Overall demand
for tourism in UK has been amending since visitors are charged appropriate prices for the
services (Xiang, Magnini and Fesenmaier, 2015). New resources can also be acquired from
different countries so as to meet the changing demand in travel and tourism sector. Thus, it can
be said that political factors play crucial role in developing the tourist destinations. The
environment of the country is healthy and eco-friendly; thus it attracts most of the customers
towards UK tourism. Thus, total number of visitors has been increasing because of the various
services included in UK tourism.
Since, demand for tourism increases during national events and occasions; this gives an
opportunity to UK tourism entity to add several provisions for customer satisfaction. Talented
and skilled people are employed so that they can comprehend and deliver prominent services to
the clients (Blanke, and Chiesa, 2013). Moreover, this is also useful in meeting culturally
diversified needs of the visitors. The business entities working in this sector also emphasizing on
demand forecasting so that accordingly service provision can be added for the customers. Thus,
from the above discussion it is clear that supply is changing as per different trends in UK
tourism.
