The sector of travel and tourism have seen many up’s
and downs in order to attain tremendous level of
growth and development in the market. Their
development phases can be divided into three parts
namely before 1945, 1945 to 1979 and 1980 to current
date.

Before 1943
As per the scenario of ancient times, it was
observed that most of the people were indulged in
agricultural activities. This was continued till the
end of the 16th century. Even after the
introduction of industries, it was estimated that
only the elite class were enjoying the fact of
visiting and travelling to different places.
1945 to 1979
This was the time when actually a level of
development in the travel and tourism sector were
marked. After 1950, there were some favourable
factors for tourism sector such as maximization in the
paid holidays, marginal growth in airways,
improvement in different packages of tour.

which is contributing in global economy. It is
