INTRODUCTION
Employability skills are the skills that are needed by the individual to enhance and grow
his/her future. These skills can be defined as individual behaviour or skills towards their
work or job. In the organization like Travelodge hotel, there is a need to enhance the
employability skills among the employees, this report will help the manager to develop
own set of responsibilities by analysing the presentation and performance of the
employees. The various communication styles will be discussed and the motivational
techniques will be used to solve the problems in the organization. The self-analysis and
self-appraisal are conducted to solve the problems and in the other part of the assignment,
the different development methods are being used for employees. The organization will
also work on developing interpersonal and personal skills.
In this manner, the Travelodge hotel will be able to perform better and effective to achieve
the aims and objectives of the organization.

In this section, the discussion will be on the set of responsibilities of manager at Travelodge
and the by evaluating the own effectiveness and al last using Motivational techniques for
reviewing and providing various recommendations.
1.1 DEVELOPING OWN SET OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE
OBJECTIVES
Developing own set of responsibilities will include many activities and these will be
discussed as under:
Job responsibility:
The various responsibilities of the manager will include, Team management, performance
management, managing the stakeholders, taking the responsibility of the commercial
delivery, ensuring that resources are available for production and further processes and
many others. The Job responsibility as the manager of the Travelodge will also comprise of
comprises of analysing the working environment and adopting the change management I
the organisation ( Du et al., 2015).
Mutual responsibility:
The manager at the Travelodge hotel will have Mutual Responsibility with the other top-
level management and with the teams that are working in the organisation (Rahim, 2017).
The manager has to ensure that there should be a better understanding between the other
superiors and the subordinates.
Self-responsibility:

The manager will have to ensure that he should be able to communicate in an effective
manner so that the tasks allotted to other members in the organisation will be completed

It is the responsibility of the manager to ensure safety at the workplace; he should
encourage activities that do not include any kind of danger (Dresang, 2017.). The manager
has to conduct health & safety training and also he should analyse the workplace for taking
effective measures.

Customer satisfaction at the Travelodge Hotel can be ensured by collecting and analysing
the data, for ensuring the effective performance of the employees (Hill and Alexander,
2017).

There are various activities that are required to implement the development plan:
Communicating the organisation's objectives to the members of staff:
The manager should ensure that he should be clear in explaining the goals and objectives
of the organisation. He can use many strategies to communicate in an effective manner
(Flew et al., 2015).
Providing on the job training for ensuring the ability of the work:
The employees of the organisation should be provided on the job training that means they
should be given practical knowledge and experience to learn. On the job training will help
the employees to develop self-effectiveness and to ensure the skill of the work.
Ensuring team spirit among the employees for attaining the objectives effectively:
The team spirit in the organisation should be encouraged by rewarding them for achieving
team objectives. The teamwork will help the organisation to grow and to provide better
performance for the satisfaction of the customers.
Using productivity at work for measuring the employees’ efficiency:
The manager at the Travelodge hotel should use the Technique of measuring the output of
the employee's work so that they can plan to improve their organisational strategies (Park

Customer satisfaction is a crucial factor for evaluation:
Every organisation is working for customer satisfaction so that they can take benefits from

For the overall development and improvement of the organisation the recommendations
are provided in different ways:
Communication:
There is a need to improve the communication between the superiors and subordinates
because communication is the best way to transfer information in an organisation. At the
Travelodge hotel, the manager could conduct the meetings and training programs to ensure
operative communication in the organisation for accomplishing goals and targets (Dawson,
2018).
Package of compensation- Motivation:
At Travelodge hotel, the employees should be provided compensation package as it helps
to increase the motivation among the employees and ensures the high performance and
organisational development (Malik, 2018). Compensation such as the sickening leaves,
paying the employees expenses fully or partly etc. These compensation packages motivate
the employees to continue the work and to increase their productivity for customer
satisfaction.
Training:
Training at Travelodge hotel is required to improve the work routine of the employees. The
manager has to ensure that employees are able to understand their roles and
responsibilities. By conducting the training program at Travelodge will support the
organisation to manage time, to increase the confidence and it helps to take the financial

The manager at Travelodge hotel can increase the motivation among the employees by
involving them in the activities of the organisation. The employees should get the chance to
participate so that they can learn and improve by interacting with others. Employee’s
participation also ensures that they have a feeling of self-realisation. And to solve the
different problems at Travelodge hotel by innovative and creative techniques also needs
employee’s participation (Kearney, 2018).
Encouraging flexible working practices:
Allowing the employees to work according to their flexibility helps them to increase their
focus on work. At Travelodge hotel, this practice of providing the flexible working will

The employees at Travelodge hotel have conflicts between them, and because of this
problem, the effectiveness of the organisation is getting lower (Savery, 2015). The manager
should take some measure such as he could strategize operative system at the workplace.
The employees can also improve communication among them; by interacting with each
other they can solve disputes concerning them. Resolving the problem of conflicts will help
to perform better in the team task and that will collectively contribute to the organisation.
Failure/breakdown of communication:
To improve communication at the Travelodge hotel, the manager should adopt the various
