High staff turnover hurts the bottom line of a tourism and travel company Travelogue.
Various ways are there to reduce this problem. Paying attention to personal need as well as
reviewing compensation and boosting engagement in company's goal. This study is intending
to address the current problems regarding employee turnover along with its relevant solution.

managers of this travel sector can evaluate the effectiveness of objectives. Moreover,
transferable and interpersonal skill of employees can improve the time management strategy.
Additionally, this study is aiming to highlight methods to resolve the problem of employee

organisation and try to help in increasing revenue in market.

increase their efficiency (Oostrom, 2016). Due to this team management manager focuses on
to provide knowledge about using new techniques and ideas and this increases knowledge of
employees. They try to implement these ideas to provide customers with better services.
Growth of efficiency among employees
Major effectiveness is due to setting up goals employees of Travelodge have a growth in their
efficiency. Due to this setting goal employees are more focused in their work and this
increases their efficiency in market. Hence employees of Travelodge are more concerned to
complete their work within specific time period.
1.3 Recommendation to improve
As manager there are various recommendations to increase efficiency and improvement of
responsibilities. Major weakness is better training will help to improve efficiency of
employees and bring competency level within them. Due to better training employees will
gain knowledge and learn new updated things. This will helps them to provide better services
to customers in market. Through giving good training to employees this will help in
strengthening organisation revenue in market. Thus this helps Travelodge to provide good
services to customers and tries to solve their queries. On other side another recommendation
is good decision-making. Managers in Travelodge for improving their effectiveness in
market are taking better decision. Hence due to taking good decision helps organisation to
have more demand in market. Better decision making helps to solve problem of organisation
and gives good outcome. Due to taking good decision helps in achieving organisational goals.
Another recommendation is time management. Manager of Travelodge should focus on to
complete their task within time period. They try to schedule their task and aims in achieving
them within specific time period. Hence it may be recommended that Travelodge manager

Another important technique that helps to improve performance of organisation is better
communication among employees and managers. As said by Ngwenya and Aigbavboa

more concerned in achieving them. This ultimately increases quality performance of

The manager of Travelodge focuses on to provide employees with extra rewards and
recognition according to their work performance. According to their work and completing
them within time period, manager of Travelodge gives rewards to their employees (Morrison,

Various issues that are related to work based problem in Travelodge is stated. One major
work based problem that Travelodge faces is lack of direction that has lowered growth of
revenue in market. Hence managers and employees rarely discuss on deliberate action and
focus on achieving goal for the company. As said by Messum et al. (2016), due to this lack of
direction employees cannot achieve goals and sustain growth of organisation. The managers
of Travelodge need to schedule their work and create specific goal. This will help them to
focus in their work and directs them to complete related task within small time period.
Managers need to give them chance for asking question. This will help them to solve their
query and strengthen them to be focused in their work.

Date: 12th May, 2019
Subject: Application about the problem faced by our hotel, Travelodge
Respected Mam,
This application has been written to inform that in our hotel, Travelodge the major two
problems that is being faced by us is lack of direction and communication gap. These two
problems is decreasing growth of organisation and hampering the services. Due to this
problem customers demand towards Travelodge has been decreased. As per lack of direction,
employees and managers rarely discuss on problems and do not focus on achieving goals.
Due to this it is creating problem to our organisation as demand for our services are getting
lower in market. Lack of direction within employees is increasing problems. They are not
taking attentive care to guest and providing low services to customers. Thus our demand in
market is getting lower because of this issue.
Another problem that our hotel, is facing that is communication gap found among employees
and managers. This is causing major problem as both of them are not discussing problems
that are being faced and not focusing on to solve them. Due to these customers queries and
problem are not being solved by employees. Communication gap is creating a barrier in
between employees and managers.
As per manager it is my humble request that you kindly look after the problem and give
appropriate solution to overcome this problem.
Thanking You,
Yours Faithfully,
The Manager of Travelodge

MEMO

From: Manager, Travelodge
Date: 12th May, 2019
Subject: Problem about communication gap and lack of direction
It is to inform all staff members of our hotel that we are facing problem that is
communication gap and lack of direction which is creating issue and lowering demand in
market. So, I as manager of Travelodge want to clear out the problems that are being faced by
staff members and other subordinates.
It is seen that because of lack of direction all staff members are not focused in their work.
They do not prioritize their work and achieve them. The member is doing multitasking that is
generally creating issue in which members are not providing better services to customers. As
a result this is lowering quality of services to customers and hence decreasing profitability
ratio in market. It is very disappointing that my staff members are not focused in their work
and are not working properly. On other side the communication gap in between employees
and other subordinate is creating huge problem in communication with our guest. Hence,
employees are not helping the guest and are not solving their queries. I will request that all
employees must take care of guest as taking care of them will help to increase demand of our
services in market. It has been found that employees are busy with their work and nobody is
helping the guests.
Hence, it is necessary that all staff members are hereby requested that they should prioritize
their work and try to solve queries of guest and take care of them. Following this will create a
better working environment in Travelodge.
2.3 Strategies of time management
Various effective time management strategies are being followed by managers of Travelodge
that are shown below:

Through this diary management, it helps to note down important task and techniques. It helps
in remembering important points in coming time period. As opined by Malik and
Venkatraman (2017), this diary management could be a written document where important

organisational goals and objectives must support mission of the same. Objective helps to
define the purpose of Travelogue to meet the success. Moreover, this helps to determine the
necessary task and measure the progress. As mentioned by Akinyomi, (2016), employee’s
performance is one of the measuring tools of organisational performance. For this reason,
employees have a crucial role in achieving a shared goal. Business managers identify the key
benefits of performance of employees so that they can improve consistently.
Productive employees meet objective: One of the vital factors of performance in achieving

an influence a positive workplace through rewarding their high performing employees
including incentives. Group recognition at the time of conducting meeting in Travelogue

Moreover, working together within the tourism and travel sector helps them to set innovative

leadership and advancement.
Build team trends: Unhealthy competition is the cause of staff turnover in the tourism and

the team. Sufficient time into this factor allows leaders to identify special interest of its team
members. This ensures that allocated people are matched with job role and they have enough
capability to execute task.

to find resolution.
Groupthink and authority: Deference of authority has a impact within a team, that is
stagnating. Through offering innovative opinions and ideas with team members helps to
improve overall productivity.

One of the effective ways to incorporate goals within Travelogue is creating a SMART
system. This helps to progress the performance smoothly.
SMART system: The goals of the tourism and travel sector need to be relevant as well as
time related and attainable. This helps to work steadily of employees.
