INTRODUCTION
Employability skills refers to those skills which are needed by an individual to make
them employable (Aggrawal, 2015). It relates to the communication skills, self management
skills and learning skills etc. These skills are much helpful to increase the ability of an individual
working within the company. The present report is based on the Travelodge Hotel which refers
to the hotel chain around the world and having current operations in United states, Canada and
United Kingdom etc (About us, 2016). The report determines the own set of responsibilities and
performance objectives. Other than this, alternative ways to achieve the goals of the company
also described.
TASK 1
1.1) Own set of responsibilities and performance objectives
As a manager of Travelodge Hotel I have to perform many kind of responsibilities that
are necessary for the growth of the company. As a manager I have to work on developing
leadership fundamentals through which I can be able to manage the work easily. As I have to
manage all the members of staff so it is required for me to make concentration on these styles.
During the organisational change process I need to work as leader so that I can develop the
complex and intangible skills in the staff members of Travelodge Hotel. Other than this, I also
have to clearly negotiate with the market competition so that I can manage business in market
(Eurico, da Silva. and do Valle, 2015).
Other than this, I also have to set objectives for the employees so that they can complete
their duties effectively. Apart from this, as a manager I also have to organize tasks and duties for
the employers according to their skills and abilities through which they can give their best. In
addition to this, I also have the duty to make people motivated at the workplace so that they can
complete the work with more enthusiasm. (Huang, 2013) More than this, I have the duty to
establish targets yardsticks which can measure the results and clarify the outcomes to0 find
whether it is good for Travelodge hotel or not. Furthermore, I also have the duty to organize
training and development programs for the employees to increase their skills and abilities at the
workplace. As a manager I have to develop strategies to face the market competition.

According to roles and responsibilities I have identified my own abilities which are
supporting me in completing my responsibilities. Some of my abilities are I am able to manage
the work effectively through which I can perform effectively within the company. Other than
this, I am also a very confident person which make me able to take effective decisions for the
growth of Travelodge hotel. Apart from this, I am also a self motivated person which make me
able to complete my work with more enthusiasm. More than this, I am able to achieve the goals
on time with the help of time management strategies. It will also help me to organize the work
effectively through which it is possible to get the goals more effectively (Katyal and Katyal,
2015).
On contrary to this, I have certain weaknesses which make me unable to complete
certain responsibilities at the Travelodge Hotel. I have weak communication skills through which
I am not able to make effective communication with the employee. This weakness does not
allows me to make the people understand my strategies. Other than this, I am also not able to
take effective decisions for Travelodge Hotel. Through lack of decision making skills I am not
able to take efficient decisions for the organisation. This will reduce the chance of taking
effective decisions for the company.
1.3) Recommendations for improvement
As per the identified weakness I have to work on removing them so that it will be
possible for me to get the remaining objectives. As I have the major weakness regarding not
making effective communication with the employees which leads to not understanding the
strategies properly. To make them improved I need to attain the seminars and conferences
through which it will be possible for me to enhance my communication skills. Other than this, I
will also work on giving presentation to my subordinates so that I can make improvement in my
communication skills.

Labor turnover is related to the proportion of the employee so the company who leaves
the organisation during a year. It is the biggest issue for the companies as this will be reduce the
number of skilled and experienced employees within the company. Various stages are there that
help to reduce the labour turnover at the Travelodge Hotel. The following strategy will help the
organisation to make improvement in the condition of the labour turnover: Hiring right people: At the initial stage Travelodge hotel should take cars while
recruiting the people in the company. Hiring right people will be able to understand the
work more better than the unskilled and unexperienced people. Other than this, it will
also help the company by giving their best services to the organisation. Take feedback regarding work based problems: Other than this, it is the next step as
Travelodge Hotel should have to work on taking feedback from the employee regarding
work based problems (Ragonese and et.al., 2014). The company should consider the
problems and should also work for solving the major problems there. This will make the
people feel comfortable at the workplace.
Provide proper compensation and benefits: At the next stage, Travelodge Hotel should
work for providing suitable compensation and benefits to the employee so that they can
get motivated at the workplace. This will make them attracted towards the work.

4.3) Impact on the business of implementing the strategy
The strategy prepared above is having the grate impact on the reducing the labour
turnover at Travelodge Hotel. It will make both positive and negative impact on the business. It
may affect the reputation and image of the company. Other than this, lowering the employee
turnover will help to maximizing employee satisfaction av Travelodge Hotel. It will help to
increase the productivity of the employees at the workplace (Rosli, Ishak and Saat, 2015).
Through implementing the above strategy the organisation will be able to achieve their targets
earlier and also it will help to increase employee participation.
More than this, the strategy described above leads to increase confidence and other
stakeholders of the Travelodge Hotel. This increase in confidence will further result in the
increasing the reputation and employees morale etc. it will also make negative impact on the
company as through providing extra compensation to every employee will reduce the profits of
the organisation. In addition to this, expectation of the employees will increase for the
organisation which sometimes leads to employee dissatisfaction as Travelodge Hotel will not be
able to fulfill every need of the company (Tholen and et.al., 2016).

motivational techniques will help the company to increase the motivation of the employees so

addition to this, different tools like process mapping and brain storming are there that help to
develops solution at the problems at the workplace.
