INTRODUCTION
The employability skills are the specific qualities and traits possessed by an individual,
that are been looked after by a firm to have good operations. These traits play a very crucial role
in the performing operations and carrying out of business activities and functions in an
appropriate way. The present report is been carried out in regard to travel and tourism sector
enterprise, Travelodge. It is a UK based hospitality firm which provides accommodation services
and second largest enterprise by the number of hotels and bedrooms.
The report will cover the details about the set of personal roles and responsibility and
objectives with handling of own effectiveness. Besides this proper recommendations are been
taken for improvement and motivational techniques are been taken for improving quality of
performance. Also, various work based problems and different styles of their management is
evaluated. Also, the team dynamics and achievement of team goals are been analysed. Besides
this, various tools and methods are been taken to drive the solutions or problems with the
management of the issues related to labour turnover. Also, various financial and non financial
measures are been evaluated.

1.1 Develop set of own responsibilities and performance objectives
As a Human resource manager of Travelodge, certain measures can be taken within the
organisation that will help in performing suitable operations and thus, will help in carrying out of
different responsibilities and performance objectives, which will help the organisation to meet
the other objectives of the firm (Tan, 2016). This will help in placing an effective operational
measure which will help in setting up of business operation's and hence will lead the organisation
to have a good accessibility of operations within selected enterprise.
Some of my person responsibilities as a HR manager within Travelodge are as follows:
Carrying out the recruitment process: This is the most prior and effective
responsibilities of a HR manager. I will look after the proper management of the job
roles, work force requirements within the firm and thus, gain the suitable candidate for a
particular job role (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, 2015).
Providing effective training: Once a candidate within an organisation is recruited, the
HR manger will provide them with suitable training and guidance that will help the newly

recruits to have a high efficiency and skills to meet the needs and requirements of the
firm. It assists the organisation to enhance their employability skills within the firm.
Inducing professional growth : The HR manager will look after the proper management
of the corporate growth of an employee within an organisation in form of rewards and

business operations and activities.
Maintaining employee relationship: I, as a HR manager will also look after the
reduction of interpersonal conflicts and facilitate a good relationship between different
employee's of the firm (Collet, Hine and du Plessis, 2015).
Besides this, different performance objectives can be set that will help in proper
assessment of human resource measures within the firm. Some performance objectives that will
be set by the firm will include:
Recruiting right person.
Developing suitable talent within the firm.
Improving working conditions.
Managing resources and time within the firm.

As per the defined objectives, that are been carried out within the firm, this will help in
proper management of business operations and thus will help in effective planning of the set
business objectives that are been carried out within the firm. As the HR manager, I will look
after the proper assessment of the objectives and improving my capability as per the
requirements (Tsitskari and et.al., 2017). This will also assist me in not only to improve the
quality of products and services by Travelodge but will also, provide me with a suitable

Based on the above assessment of personal effectiveness as a HR manager within travel
and tourism enterprise, Travelodge, different recommendatory measures can be undertaken that
will help me to improve my skill sets and performance and thus will assist me to carry out my
roles and responsibilities within the firm. Some major recommendations that can be undertaken
by me to improve my performance are:
Making resource list and time table: this recommendation measure will help me to
monitor the needs and allocation of the resources to track down their utilization and reduce their
wastage. Similarly, developing a time table will help me to plan out all the activities and thus
will lead to rise in my personal effectiveness to execute the HR related operations in a stipulated
time frame (Cottrell, 2015). This approach is also effective to improve the quality of services and
maintaining the HR related operations. It helps in suitable rise in effectiveness of carrying out of
operations within the firm.
Improving my confidence level: I, as a HR manager in Travelodge, will look after the
proper assessment of my skill to deliver the presentations and interact with other, publicly. In
order to carry out this operation, I am required to visit various seminars and self improvement
workshops that will help me to improve my oral communication skills as a HR manager and
maintain a good relation with my sub ordinates and other employees within the enterprise
(Suleman, 2016). It will also help me to motivate others and enhance my relationships or
bonding with other employees within Travelodge. This will assist to improve mine and
organisation's performance.

In order to improve the quality of performance, different motivational techniques or
measures can be taken in firm that will help in encouraging the employee's within travel and

within the enterprise for suitable growth and development of the employee's within the firm are:
Positive work environment: This is the major technique that can be undertaken within
