INTRODUCTION
Employability skills refers to all the essential skills of a job such as- problem solving,
teamwork, learning, technology, self management, planning and organising, communication.
These are the core skills and traits required by every job. These skills help to make someone
employable. These skills are also called by the foundational skills. These skills help to work
effectively and efficiently. It is a set of transferable skills and these skills are generic in nature.
Travelodge is private company which is operating in the hotels and hospitality industry in UK. It
is the second largest in the budget hotel and the biggest hotel chain in UK by no. of bedrooms.
This file discusses about the Set of responsibilities and performance management. The report
explores and develops a set of own responsibilities and performance objectives. This report also

As per standard/criteria set by the Travelodge in its role of the organisation's manager.
Below mentioned are the set of responsibilities:

Personal responsibilities are one of the most important skills that an organisation's
manager should hold. In order to take and ensure proper responsibility, I need to take
responsibility of my words, actions and work-based performance. Also, it is important for me to
take credit of my success and failures both. Important skills that I should acquire include:
Decision Making Skills
Being an assistant manager of Travelodge, it is important for me to take decisions. Also,
while taking any of the decisions it is important for me to keep in mind the organisations policies
and procedures and where might my decisions can take me and my organisation in the future.
Leadership Skills

Good leadership skills can ensure my success in leading a team and providing them with
proper motivation and guidance in order to achieve the overall organisational success and
growth.
Corporate vision adherence
It is important for the manager to be focused on the corporate vision of the organisation.
My adherence to the corporate vision will make me achieve heights and ensure proper growth
and success in the organisation. Corporate vision of Travelodge includes customer services,
maximize profit and sales. I can ensure that I meet these objectives and achieve them as required
by Travelodge.
Meeting all deadlines and targets
As a manager it is important for me meet the required targets and deadlines in the
organisation. Meeting organisational set targets and deadlines would ensure smooth operation's
management and organisational efficiency.
Communication Skills
Effective communication skills will ensure proper communication between me and my
team. Along with it, better communication is going to ensure that there is no communication gap
left and my teams' and stakeholders needs and requirements are being fulfilled regularly.

employees of the organisation to organize and plan their work in order to achieve agreed targets.

P2.1 Solutions to work based problems to create two work based problems identified during my
experience in Travelodge
Manager of Travelodge hotel found that there is a lack of effective communication skills
in employees. Lack of effective communication leads to negativity in any firm. When employees
don't keep the informations and knowledge it can be a cause of low productivity. Manager found
that employees of Travelodge company are tending to avoid the situations in which they will be
seen that they are not expertise. The employees do not understand the language of another
employee.
Lack of efficiency is also second major problem in employees of Travelodge. Manager
observe that employee of Travelodge were not aware about the verbal communication. And their
body language was not positive this thing indicates the negativity among employees. Employees
of Travelodge does not trust on each other. They want to work harder smarter in the hotel but if
they are not engaged with each other it can have a profound effect on the firm through lack of
employees turnover and lack of motivation. Manager found that employees are not working
properly as well as they are not punctual for their work.
Solution 1: manager will conduct several team meetings with employees to understand
their verbal and non verbal communication. Manager will also conduct training and development
programs to improve their skills. It will be beneficial for the organisation to increase the
productivity. Manager will hire some expertise who can train employees of Tarvelodge.
Employees can also learn about the use of their body language to show the positivity in
workplace. Manager will also provide them their feedbacks to motivate them for their work.
Appointments and meetings will help to interact with the particular employee(Kolmos and
Holgaard, 2019).
Solution-2 : Manager will try to improve their interpersonal skill by conducting seminars
and by providing them a common task where they can trust each other. Improving the
interpersonal skills will ensure that Manager am performing wisely and taking the de scions as
per the needs and wants of the organisational goals. Manager will also establish the information
communication technology in Travelodge. It is an integrated management system of
telecommunication. Which will help for employees of several functional units to be connect with
