2.1 Developing of solution to work based problem
At the time of carrying out my work as a manager in Travelodge hotel there are two
major work based problems which I have faced. One of the major among those
is related to the ineffective communication at workplace. This has affected the
overall performance and efficiency of employees (Saunders and et.al. 2010).
During my employment tenure in Travelodge hotel, I have personally observed
that communication between employees was not appropriate. This resulted in
delaying in the process of decision making and also affected the coordination
among staff members. Another impact of ineffective communication was that
created obstacles in overall growth and success of the hotel. I am working as a
manager in Travelodge hotel and witnessed that the morale and motivational
level of employee is also very low.

The employees are not willing to giver their best in the
success of hotel. The proposed solution for above
mentioned two problems are mentioned below as:
It can be stated that effective communication process is very
important for smooth flow of operations in Travelodge hotel
(Wilton, N., 2011.). One of the best way to improve
communication process in hotel is by taking situations into
consideration before taking any decisions. This will create sense
of satisfaction among employees and will also support in
enhancing the overall process of communication.

Using various tools and techniques of communication will also
support in improving process of communication within
Travelodge hotel. Team meetings can be held at regular intervals
in order to become aware of issues and challenges which are
faced by employees (Maxwell, G. and et.al., 2010). Techniques
such as emails and team meetings are also effective to make
people in the hotel aware about strategies and long term
objectives of the hotel

employee efforts and providing monetary incentives against the
same are some effective technique which can be used to
improve employee motivation.
