Introduction
Personal and professional development (PPD) is the reflective and creative process for giving the self
awareness in the individual. It supports in making of decision with using the mind activities and
individual is already to possibilities. The importance of PPD is due to greater benefits such as it gives
deeper understanding and enables the individual to become the in-charge of his own work. In the present
report, the study will give understanding on the self managed learning being the assistant manager in
Travelodge along with lifelong development. It makes the individual in such manner that they are ready
to take own personal and professional development. The study will also show that individual’s are able
to implement and regularly review the PPD plan. Finally, the report will show the interpersonal and
transferrable skills of the individuals.

The procedure of learning by taking the various efforts by the individual is own self managed learning. The
procedure involves approaches of learning and outcomes evaluation from different tasks to be taken in
Travelodge. The approaches can also be used in order to get the customer satisfaction in Travelodge are as
follows:-
Others learn: There are approaches that supports in self managed learning like mentoring helps in giving the
assigned roles and duties of the employees in the Travelodge. Mentoring basically gives the strength to the
individual to pass his knowledge to the others in order to increase their skills and knowledge as well
(Cunningham, 2017). The other thing is meetings, conferences and seminars are also offering the personal
skills and development in the individuals.
Research learning: Learning through research includes the books, journals, web articles sources to increase
the knowledge present in the individual. Through this, the working pattern of the individual can be changed
that supports in developing the manager in Travelodge.
Internet learning: It is the biggest source in the self managed learning as it offers the large number of websites
for surfing. In the internet, the social media also falls that connects the large population on the single platform.
It will allow in giving the experience of the other big hotels as well that supports in examination of the other
skills (Cunningham and Bennett, 2017). The use of bulletin board is also effective that will give the schedules,
objectives and other documentary notes for increasing the knowledge of the organization and individual’s as
well.
The several approaches presented are effective in increasing the development and growth of individual. The
application of these methods is significant in adoption so that present skills can be connected with the
Travelodge goals and purposes.

the ideas and through conceptualization the ideas get generalized and then the plan is prepared by concluding

Travelodge comes in the hotel industry that gives numerous opportunities of career development. As the
assistant manager, it is significant for me to develop the capabilities in relation to solving of problem
along with team building to increase the organization productivity.
Opportunities for meeting present and future defined needs
In Travelodge, working with the higher authorities will give me knowledge about building the
team so that employees can be directed to meet the desired objectives. Team working brings
more ideas and solutions to the problems. On this account, discussion with the manager will
assist in bringing the development in me in relation to team building skills (Cohen, 2015).
Proper communication skills are important for having the problem solving skills. The skills of
communication can be managed through speaking process and referring vocabulary. Mentor
suggestions are also beneficial to improve my problem solving skills.
Travelodge future opportunities through ASPIRE
This program supports the employees of Travelodge by improving their present potentials. The use of
three routers is done in this case that is The Discover, The Traveler and The Adventurer. If the existing
role is to improve the use of discover router is done and on this development 12 months study is needed
in which four hours months are allotted. While, the employee has to move on the next role they can take
the use of Traveler router and on this account, 12 months study is needed in which six hour every month
is to be given. Lastly, if the employee wants to meet the assistant manager role they have to take
adventurer router and in this case they will take 12 months study in which eight hours is to be given for
every month. This approach is quite effective for the Travelodge employees to improve their career
growth and development.
