Three types of computer-mediated communication trends
In this part I will focus Real-time communication system, hangouts emails asynchronous
message communication system and video call mediated communication system. In the case of
the real-time communication system, the information reaches the recipient instance. This
communication system is designed in such a way that some files and images can be attached
during the chat. There is an alert after the message is delivered and read by the recipient. The
disadvantage of the system is that the recipient should be online at the time of the message send
for the quick reply. If the recipient is not online, the information may delay and no instance
communication since there is no alert for in case of the message delivered or replied (Gephart,
2012). In the basis of the hangouts emails asynchronous message system, it is important when
both sender and recipient are in the same office of operation. It is better communication way
through which information is easily send from one Gmail account to another. The advantage part
of this system is that once the recipient is online you can trace because there a green color dot in
the chat box. It indicates that the recipient is online and now communication can go through
well. Again focusing on the hangouts emails asynchronous message system, there is an alert if
the recipient replies back even if the sender was not in chat tab. It makes it easy for quick
respond. The disadvantage part of this system is that the level of closeness between the sender
and the recipient is minimal since they should identify one another first.
For the hangout to pop up, both parties should first accept the request from one another.
Again this system of communication trends in the workplace sometimes may have some delays
especially when the internet connection is week. The video call mediated system is one of the
trending systems of communication in most of the workplaces. It is mostly being used between
the lower level employees and high-rank bosses. This is the best method of communication for

monitoring as well as getting exactly what is needed between the parties of communication
(Young & Case, 2014). The disadvantage of this program is that it is being abused by most of the
employees as it intends to non-business concern issues (Sullivan & Dautermann, 2016). Most of
the workers within the workplace are using the system for fun and socialization and hence being
limited.
Effects of implementing new forms of computer-mediated technology on my organization's
communication
Implementing new forms of computer-mediated technology affect my organization's
communication due to the fact that instance and fast communication is done. For instance, the
video call communication in the workplace has been the best way of getting in touch with the
workers. The background information is received through the computer-mediated
communication system. It is the measure of internet proximity within the workplace. For
example, the HR department has widely used the social networks to connect with various job
seekers on Facebook and LinkedIn (Straub, 2014). Computer-mediated technology is becoming
an important business tool for the organization communication.
Making computer-mediated communication most effective
For effective computer-mediated communication within my organization, I will make
sure that organizational leaders rethink and consider how to improve business relationships and
how employees communicate and collaborate with each other. For the rise of interaction via the
social media, the level of trust and employee engagement level I will make sure that the
interactions are affected. This means that the top management must work upon engaging their

employees to develop proper etiquette, trust, and loyalty at work. The business communication is
now being done on blogs, e-mails, instant messaging, intranets (Bikson, 2014). The potential of
miscommunication and misinterpretation of information is increasing. Since employees are more
stressed and rushed, they hardly take care of their writing tone that highly results in conflicts.
They tend to draw conclusions based on little information which can turn out to be disastrous.
The importance of managers selecting the appropriate channel for message distribution in
the Information Age
If we analyze the trends at the workplace, it is clear that selecting the appropriate channel
for message distribution in the Information Age is important. This is because through electronic
medium has taken over face-to-face as well as voice communication and has created a wide gap.
The reason behind is that people have started showing discomfort with the traditional means of
interpersonal communication and this hesitation is increasing within employees. In addition,
due to the geographic dispersion businesses require communication through electronic mediums
(Andrejevic, 2012). Until now, the business sector is encouraging the use of the proper channel
for message distribution and using it in a positive manner.
