In an organisation, team plays an important role in order to achieve goals and objectives
of the company in an appropriate manner. Without an effective as well as skilled team the
management not able to meet with the objectives and targets which is set out. In context to this
there are mainly two theories of team which are used by the Barclays bank. The present report
describes Bruce Tuckman's and Belbin's team models which are helpful for the bank up to
greater extent. Further, the report shows effectiveness of team theories on group and personal
contribution.

Barclays bank formulate a team of members. In this all the individuals are depended on
the leader for guidance as well as proper direction. Here any member not using self

11 Storming: In this second stage of team development coordination between individuals
and with the leader improves. The leader provides information to the team members
about the goals and objectives but they not clear with this (Stages of Group Development,
2016). In this step there conflicts and disputes are arises among the members of team and

11 Norming: In the next phase that is Norming, the group members start to understand the

2. Completer: As per the respective role he plays a role of checking the task which are done
by individuals that whether it is appropriate or not. If there are any problems identified
than as a leader of Barclays bank I will check and take cation to complete them in
effective way. Here leader plays quality checker with high standards.
3. Implementer: At the role of implementer I make the plans, ideas as well as effective
strategies and then implement in the group of individuals for achieve the task. When the
members complete the work and task by using proper tactics then their efficiency and
productivity is to be increase which is beneficial for the Barclays bank (Hu and Liden,
2015).
4. Resource investigator: Here the leader find out the new and innovative resources which
are helpful for the team of bank for achieve the targets. As a leader I make explore
various opportunities as well as develop new contacts for increase resources at the

5. Co-Ordinator: Within the team members proper coordination is required up to greater

9. Specialist: The person who has in depth knowledge of a particular subject and area is
known as specialist. He has more and high knowledge of the area with overload
informations due to having a specialist. As a specialist I give instructions to the
individuals in which I have depth informations which helps to the team for guide properly
and meet with the objectives and goals of Barclays bank.
Effectiveness of such theories on group
The above mentioned theories of team such as Tuckman's and Belbin's are very helpful
for group of members and Barclays as well bank in order to meet with the objectives and goals in
an appropriate manner. Both the models are lead to the team for to become task oriented and
people oriented at the working environment of respective bank. Apart from this coordination
between individuals as well as with the leader is increase which lead to establish better employee
relations (Mathieu and et.al., 2015). It can be said that these models of team building and team
management are highly effective for the group of Barclays bank.
Effectiveness on personal contribution
Moreover, the theories are impact on my personal contribution towards the team for
achieving objectives of the company. When I use above models and roles of the team then I will
be able to become more innovative. Further, I can become initiative and creative at the
workplace which helps to increase contribution and involvement in the group. Along with this as
per the team theories my strengths to manage overall team will be increase by which I will be
able to meet with the objectives in proper way.
