INTRODUCTION
Marketing is the activity which is uses by people in order to increase the organisational
productivity. Every business concern is uses different activities in relation to marketing that
attracts customers to buy the products. This report is based on TUI that is travelling organisation
providing different travel and tourism services. Thus report is all about common challenges and
barriers of effective communication, strategies to overcome communication barriers and cultural
influence on communication.
MAIN BODY
Common challenges and barriers to effective communication
In business environment effective communication is important that helps to understand the
needs and wants of their customers and deliver them kind of products and services. In TUI,
number of employees are working and selling their tourism packages to customers. Different
types of common challenges and barriers are faced by organisation as:
Cultural barriers – People who comes at TUI are having different culture who are demanding
different products and services due to lack of communication (Giovannoni and Xiong, 2019).
Language barriers – This challenges is faced by TUI as employees are from different
country who unable to understand what customers are saying as their language are different.
Interpersonal barriers This mean coordination which is creating challenge and
problems while communicating with customers and employees.
Emotion barriers – This is another type of barriers which is facing by TUI as some
employees fear and get punish from their management that has impacted on business negatively.
Devise and develop strategies for overcoming communication barriers
For running a business it is required to have proper strategies and plans so barriers can be
overcome easily. The manager of TUI organisation has developed some strategies:
The person and employees in TUI should be aware for understanding body language
To start the work on posture
To understand the problems and queries of customers and maintain eye contact.
To provide the training and development programme to employees so they can deal with
customers easily.
To satisfy the people and customers so they get ready to work by accepting challenges.

Awareness of cultural influences on communication and negotiation
Cultural influences means how people are thinking, communicating and behaving for the
purpose of completing task and attaining the business goals. If employer is able to understand
culture and languages of their customers then it can operate a business successfully and increase
the business production (Covvey and et. al., 2019). This is important for organisation to have
effective and proper communication so they can share problems maintain the organisational
productivity and profitability. In TUI organisation, managers are focuses on their culture and
beliefs so they can manage the activities and get competitive advantages.
CONSCLUSION
From the report it can be concluded that communication refers a ability of sharing ideas
and information between people and employers so they can manage the activities and functions
in organisation effectively. Different barriers and challenges such as language, cultural and
emotional are faces by organisation that affected their business and reduce the productivity.
