information which is presented in research. This research is completed under different chapters,
which are discussed as under-
Chapter 1: Introduction- This is the first chapter in research which contains information
about background and overview of research. In this section, aims and objectives for which
research is conducted are identified. This is the main important chapter because whole research
is based on it and this chapter provides complete information to reader for which research is
conducted.
Chapter 2: Literature review- Second chapter is literature review. This is the section in
which research objectives are studied according to author's point of view. This is chapter which
is part of secondary source because information is collected from online sources, journals,
articles, etc. This enhance knowledge about investigation topic and provides solution of the issue
with association is dealing.
Chapter 3: Research Methodology- Research methodology is the study of tools and
techniques which are used to conduct investigation. There are different types of design, tools,
data source, etc. which are required to conduct research. In this section, “Research Onion” frame

work is used. This provides information about techniques used and justification behind it. This
enhance knowledge of reader about research method.
Chapter 4: Data analysis and interpretation- Data analysis and interpretation is one of
the important task which researcher done with the help of primary source of information. In data
analysis, response from respondents is collected, while in interpretation, collected information is
interpreted. In this chapter discussion is also done on the basis of primary and secondary data i.e.
literature review and data interpretation.
Chapter 5: Conclusion and recommendation- At last in this chapter conclusion and

CHAPTER 2: LITERATURE REVIEW
Concept of sustainability in context of tourism industry
According to Pauline Lacanilao, 2017 sustainable tourism refers to the way of visiting
and exploring a destination with keeping cultural, environmental aspects in mind. In current
trend many people travel for different purpose such as outing, family outing, trekking,
educational trips, etc. But they do not travel with keeping sustainable factor in mind. While
travelling to different places, visitors use different resources such as natural , transportation
facilities, accommodations, etc. with lieu of money. They use them in inappropriate manner, so
this further of these resources are not secure.
According to Borne and Ponting, 2015 sustainable development is development that
meets the needs of the present without compromising the need of future generation to meet their
own needs.
Sustainable tourism involve a broad range of subcategories which include economic and
social sustainability for the local communities. Basically it is about visiting the places and
making positive impact in the mind of people. Sustainable tourism is about support the local
economy and community tourism initiatives. There is a two impact which is on social and
economic. In sustainable tourism there should be a sharing of cultures and help to promote
tolerance and break down the barriers. This can be occurred at individual level , with local
entrepreneur who is coming up with the initiative. Evaluate and analysis effect of suitability
tourism initiatives and relevant adjustment need to happen. Ensure that the outcome are positive
and the benefit are being felt by all. This system should be the continue process of re adopting
the way of travel and finding a balance between the resources and between the consumption.
This requires to set some long term goals which includes the interest of traveller , local
communities and Workington hand in hand to achieve them.

Sustainable tourism is the sector in which the sector development meet need of the

According Freya Higgins Desbiolles, 2019 if there is any chances to make tourism more
sustainable so there is several achievable measure. This sector require more concerted efforts that
is:
Government: In this averment must implemented the policies that foster the sustainable
development by overcoming the growth. Government should tackle all the environmental limits
for the growth and climate change. In this tourism requires the great planning. So the
government tourism authority such as tourism Australia – focused equally on integrated planning
as the marketing they currently emphasis.
Consumers: In there is the focus on that the consumer should be educated for the
responsible travel choices. For example there is few realise that all inclusive resort result in
economic benefits.
Local communities: In this local communities only treated as stakeholder among the
many. They also must have the right to participate in the decision making and have a point say
if and how there places or communities become destination for tourism.
Worker of tourism: in this the people who are working in this industry they must have
a right to respected. In this workers outsails provided decent conditions of working. In this
industry not allowed low wages and precarious source of employment.
Non governmental organisation: this are important in term of reporting on the abuses
of tourism which includes the land grabs and human right, community opposition and
corruption .
Issues in the mind of tourist regarding sustainable tourism:
1 Will the destination deal with issues around and dissatisfaction among local?
In this there is focus on sanctification of local because of sustainability in tourism can be
covert as positivity. In this the challenge is that people from the destination are the downstairs
selling , while discussing issues from the other parties.
2.Will government lead the way or wait on companies?
7
Document Page
In this if the destination want to promote its self then they need to put money where
their mouth is and suitability purchasing.
3.Can this tourism industry promote real life rather then the attraction ?
This is define as now day there is no real beauties mostly attractive and not real beauty is
find everywhere. In this there is challenge for this industry to provide its customer real beauty
rather than the attractive beauty which is no real at all.
4.Will responsible tourism communicate become the norm?
In this there is need to sell on trust rather than create a false . In this this industry need to create
trust in the mind of the customer. So that they can trust on them. They assume that customer will
believe them.
Strategies through which sustainability of tourism activities in UK can be achieved
As problem related to wildlife, natural resources, etc. has to be reduced, so in this case
role of tourism organisation is crucial. As per Carmela Otarra, 2018 there are some strategies
such as partnership with different stakeholders, creating awareness program, making policies for
keeping relevance of destination, planning for proper management of tourism, etc. which assist
in development of tourism sustainablely. For instance: there is peak time of visiting tourist in
UK, then there must be some government policies through which managers of TUI are able to
implement it. This helps to develop tourism sector in sustainable manner.
Role of tour organisations in framing strategies to get sustainable impact of tourism activities
There is important role of tour operators to plan sustainable impact of tourism activities.
According to Butzmann and Job, 2017 Tour operators are the link through which concept of
sustain tourism development can be provided to visitors. For instance: visitors gets register under
TUI then in this case managers has to provide complete information about environmental
prospectives and safety measures related to cleanliness, fine in case of mistreatment with
animals, etc. This makes clear image in mind of visitors and they do not conduct any
misconduct. This is beneficial for maintaining sustainable prospects in mind of consumers.
Operators of TUI have to communicate regarding cultural values, ethics, etc. of local community
while visiting any traditional place such as church, regarding festivals , etc.

CHAPTER 3: RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research is the in- depth study about topic with investigation through different sources.
There are some tools and techniques which are required to consider in order to get positive
outcome. These tools and techniques are studied under research methodology chapter. In order to
make clear understanding about research topic, a frame work is considered i.e. Research Onion.
Techniques which are considered under research methodology is discussed as under-
Data collection: Data collection is the method through which information is collected
from different sources for the purpose of providing interpretation and conclusion. There are two
types of data collection method: primary and secondary (Cerutti and et. al., 2016). Primary
information is collected by researcher from respondents. Hence there is one to one interaction
among them. This method is time consuming because in this information is collected through
from number of respondents. While in secondary data information is collected with the help of
online sources, books, journals, newspaper, etc. This is collected by some some else so it might
to old. In this research both the methods are used to collect in- depth information about strategies
of sustainability in tourism sector of UK.
Research methods: There are two methods to conduct research qualitative and
quantitative method. In this research qualitative research method is used because this is the way
in which information is presented in graphs an charts. This provides justification about specific
view of respondents over research topic.
Resources: There is requirement of some resources to conduct research such as financial
assistance, internet connect, newspapers, magazines, computer system, etc. With these research
data can be collected properly and stored in authentic and reliable manner.
Time scale: Time to conduct an research can be analysed with the help of Gantt Chart.
This is the technique which shows pictorial representation in vertical form, this shows different
research activities such as introduction, aims and objectives, literature review with their
respective time (Eijgelaar and et. al., 2016). This research is conducted within 7.5 weeks.
