INTRODUCTION
Management consultancy skills are defined as the ability of an individual to work in
team. In addition to this it also involves various other abilities as well as core competencies such
as communication skills, innovation , problem solving abilities, analytical skills , management
knowledge which is very much important in order to provide the suitable advice or suggestion to
people. These skills and core competencies are required to be posses by the consultant as it will
help them in performing their duties as well as fulfilling their responsibility. The function of
consultant is to support an organisation in improving the business performance and suggest firm
an appropriate solution to the problem. There are several types of issues can be faced by the firm
due to ineffective management system which might have negative impact on the performance of
an organisation. It is required by the manager in an enterprise to manage these problems before it
gives rise to uncertain situation at workplace.
The present report has focus on identifying the several issues faced by an organisation in
context of Tulip company. It also emphasizes on the way consultant has helped an enterprise in
improving business performance.
1. Identifying the reason Tulip Limited company has failed to achieve the satisfactory level of
performance.
The main reason for poor performance of company is ineffective management system and
lack of proper leadership. Another reason of the failure to achieve satisfactory level of
performance is the improper operational management system and poor infrastructure. These
two factor has created the major challenges for an organisation to in motoring as well as
controlling the different business procedures. Another major as well as significant reason for the
unsatisfactory performance is the management has ignored the need as well as importance off
facilitating all the operation under one roof (Kunze, Boehm and Bruch, 2013). Lack of sufficient
human resource has created the major barriers for firm in performing well. The another reason is
for failure to achieve the satisfactory performance by Tulip Limited company is high level of
dissatisfaction among employees which has occurred due to ineffective human resource
management system. Poor human resource policies , unsafe working environment , power
culture has direct as well as negative influence on the behaviour of people within an enterprise.

In addition to this , There are some managerial issues has been faced by an organisation
which has direct as well as significant impact on the business performance of an enterprise. As
manager are the people by providing the innovative who can support firm in improving business
performance. In other words it can be stated that success as well as failure of the company is
totally depended on the performance of the manager within an enterprise. Decision taken by the
management team in an organisation has great as well as major influence on the business
performance. Managerial issues also have great effect on the routine functioning of firm. Some
managerial issues faced by an organisation include the high employee turnover rate which has
direct impact on the business performance (Jackson, 2014). The another factors which has great
effect on the business performance of an organisation is disagreement between the partners
which also have great impact on the financial performance of company. The conflictual situation
in an enterprise has lead to the decrease in operational efficiency of firm. Due to disputes and
other business issues' manager has faced difficulty in conducting as well as managing the
different business operation in smooth way. Lack of sufficient resources has created the barriers'
fir firm in achieving the objectives. The absence of Production manager in an organisation has
built the major barriers in operational as well as production system which has negative effect on
the productivity of an enterprise (Curtin, 2014). Lack of resources with an organisation has
given rise to the conflicts at workplace which has counter effect on the performance of
employees as well as business. This is considered to be the significant factor due to which Tulip
company has failed to maintain their concentration on the on business objectives and quality of
products. Lack of skills , knowledge , ability and core competency in person who has taken the
responsibility of controlling as well as managing operational and production activity. This
factors have lead to the ineffective management which has negative effect on the productivity of
firm which has also resulted wed into the high level of dissatisfaction among customers. The
issues caused due to the ineffective management has negative impact or influence on the
reputation of an organisation. Business entity also have to face the legal issues due to the
ineffective business management.
It has been recommended by other stakeholders in Tulip limited that the duties as well as
responsibilities of the production manager should be delegated to some specialist or experts. As
this strategy would have helped business entity in maintaining or improving its business
performance.

company is approximately 19 percent each month and approx. 29 percent employee turnover
rate during previous year.

schemes as well as few policies for retaining the talented and skilled workers. But human
resource management has failed to achieve the objectives (Makki and Harun, 2015). As
manager has failed top identify the root cause of problem due to which many of the employees in
an organisation has left the job. Lack of effective reward as well as system there is high level of
dissatisfaction in workers who effect can be noticed by measuring their performance as well as
analysing their contribution in business activities. Ineffective management system also have
negative influence on the behaviour of employees.
It has also been analysed from the given case study that Tulip company is still using the
traditional technology in production as well as operational activities .This is considered to be the
important reason, due to which an enterprise has failed to achieve the satisfactory level of
business performance. In addition to this the inefficiency in controlling the expenditure or cost
have negative impact on the financial performance of an organisation.
All the talented as well as competent employees has left the job which also have negative
influence on firm business performance. There are various few technologies , devices and other
equipment using which the majority of the function in an organisation were executed. This factor
has also leaded to the delay in activities which has created major barriers for business entity in
achieving the satisfactory level of business performance.

organisational performance include lack of stock of control system which has resulted in a
situation where even bond balances. Improper maintenance of technology as well as other
machinery and equipment has created the barriers in executing the operational as well as
production system (Abbott, 2014.). Continuous failure in technical devices as well as machinery
has resulted into the high rate of rejection in the quality of products which has further lead to the
wastage of resources. These issues can be reduced by formulating the effective plans as well as
strategies. In addition to this, manager in an enterprise is required to develop effective
controlling system. As this strategy will assist manager in monitoring the business activities and
regulating the operational procedures. Late delivery of the products or services has resulted into
the high level of dissatisfaction in customers. In addition to this post order costing which has
indicated losses in the cases of few orders made by the clients.
Lack of coordination and ineffective communication between the people as well as
function;la units has given rise to other major problems such as rise in cost, increase in wastage
of resources , poor performance by employees etc.
It has been concluded from the above discussion that the root cause of several issues is
lack of proper planning ans well as effective control system within an enterprise. In addition to

development of strategies is considered to be as the important activities which manager need to

organisation assist firm in providing the appropriate response to changing situation .It also
assists an enterprise in identifying the suitable ways for improving business performance.

firm. Management in Tulip company perceives that lack of effective communication as well as

the given case scenario that he Tulip company has appointed general manager name Chandana
Wettasingne. He has assigned with the duty to support an organisation in improving business
performance. Function of general manager is to support firm in dealing with complex situations.
Chandana Wettasingne has been appointed as the general manager and assign with the duty to
act as consultant on the basis of suggestion provided by one of the board member. New general
manager name Chandana Wettasingne had professional background in electronics and He also
has experience working with the other companies as an engineer.
2.Scope of the project - The scope of the project is to identify the root cause of problem. This
project has wide scope. As this will help Tulip company in improving their business
performance as well as bringing positive change at workplace. In context of consultancy
organisation , it will assist business entity in earning profit .

employ technology. As it will help business entity in controlling cash flow and increasing
profitability. One evidence of negative effect of increase in cost is post order costing which
