Brazil is also known as federative republic of Brazil is one of the largest country of world
area and population wise. Economically Brazil is not so so develop and because of its low per
capita GDP it is termed as developing nation although it is one of the largest country in
world. Brazil current GDP is valued nearly approximately 12,78,27,90,00,000 Pound sterling.
As per report the current population of country is nearly 211 millions. Inflation rate is very
stable in Brazil which is nearly 2.7% and major industrial sectors of Brazil are iron and steel
manufacturing petroleum processing and chemical industry. Turtle bay restaurant is a UK
based restaurant chain which have nearly 42 stores in United Kingdom. They wants to
expand their businesses in Brazil for global expansion.
Economic Freedom
Economic freedom refers to right of individuals of controlling there own freedom. It mainly
refers to economically dependency of country and there individuals. As per the above graph
a country with purchasing power parity of $44488 is termed as economically free nation
where as country with GDP per capita PPP $5462 is termed as repressed or economically
dependent nation(Jackson, 2019). Brazil PPP is $10400 which mean it comes between
moderately free to mostly unfree nation category and this means that purchasing power and
economic freedom of country is not good which can be a negative impact for Turtle bay
restaurant as they want to expand their businesses there(Courtney, 2019). Also high
corruption rate act as a negative political factor for the growth of organisation. There are
nearly 20% people under poverty line thus this can be negative economic impact on
organisation.

Here are the two opportunities that will attract turtle bay for their expansion in Brazil.
Brazil ranks 9th in terms of FDI inflows all over the world and thus there will be high
growth for organisation in long term thus it will attract Turtle bay for their
expansion(Pereira, 2017). This can be termed as economic opportunity for them.
Brazil have stable inflation rate which is nearly 2.7% which is also an opportunity for
Brazil and thus can attract Turtle bay for investment(Muragu, 2018).
Challenges
Here are the two challenges that can be faced by turtle bay during expansion.
High corruption in Brazil is one of the major political challenge which may create
obstacle in long term for Turtle bay.
More than 20% of people below poverty line is another economical factor that may
create challenges for organisation(Santo, 2019).
