About Twitter
The multinational web-based organization Twitter was established in the year 2006 by
Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone and Evan Williams. Twitter mainly operates by
providing a platform related to social-networking and sharing of news. The headquarters of
the organization is located in San Francisco in the United States. The service that was
provided by the organization had become quite popular in 2012 and the number of users was
found to be more than 100 million. The speed of the growth of Twitter had become quite high
between the years 2011 and 2014 (Ken & Simon, 2013).
Twitter went on to acquire more organizations during the years of its operations and
further launched many apps which was linked to the main platform. The organizations which
were acquired by Twitter was a video clip manufacturing company called Vine. The Music
App of Twitter was also launched during this time. Another major organization that was
acquired by Twitter in 2013 was Crashlytics. The registration of Twitter with the U.S.
Securities and Exchange Commission was also announced in 2013, following which the
Initial Public Offering or IPO was filed by the company. The other organizations that were

Definition of the mission statement related to Twitter by Ashridge Mission Model
As implied by the Ashridge Mission Model, the organization needs to have a unique
purpose which enables Twitter to distinguish its operations from the other organizations. This
model further identifies the various scope of the operations of an organization related to the
services or products and the market terms. The mission of the organization is mainly to
empower the various users so that they can create and further share their personal ideas and
the knowledge that they possess without any constraints. The major factor that helps Twitter
to become one of the greatest revenue producing internet organization are the strategies that
are provided by Ashridge Mission Model (Babnik et al., 2014).
The organization mainly distributes the products by sharing information. This has

manner. The decision-making method of the organization mainly involves the planning
process of various strategies which are formulated for the faster and easier achievement of

year. A huge mistake was made by Jack Dorsey in 2008 when he decided to the reject the
offer that was made of Facebook to acquire the organization. The offer was worth 500 million
dollars and thus rejection led to the elimination of Jack Dorsey from the post of CEO. The
organization had to struggle a lot in the year 2009 due to the fast growth of users and lack

The organization was further attacked by cross-site scripting in the year 2010,
however the issue was fixed quite fast. The merger and partnership of Google and Twitter in
the same year and all the information related to this platform was deleted from Google. The
organization was under huge pressure and confusion as the developers suffered a lot due to
the decisions that were taken by the management of Twitter. Another major change was made
in Twitter in the year 2013 when the concept of blue line conversation was further introduced
