INTRODUCTION
Non-communicable diseases are the illness of long duration and generally slow
progression. There are four main types of non-communicable disease are cardiovascular
diseases, cancer, chronic respiration disease and diabetes. It is non-transferable among and non-
infectious among people. This present report present the detailed description of Risk of Type 2
diabetes in Asian women over by reviewing five articles.
MAIN BODY
Diabetes is global challenges as it is growing health problems in rich and poor countries.
Diabetes is an issue with the body which caused blood glucose (sugar) level to rise higher than
normal which is known as hyperglycaemia. There are tow types of diabetes which are Type 1
and Type 2 diabetes. The most common form of diabetes is Type 2 diabetes. It is chronic
conditions in which body is not able to store the glucose in a proper manner.
Article 1: Different Associations of Diabetes with hb-Cell Dysfunction and Insulin
Resistance Among Obese and Non-obese Chines Women with Prior Gestational Diabetes
Mellitus
According to Li and et.al., (2014) The main objectives of this research is to examine the
relative contributions of dysfunctioning of hb-Cell as well as resistance of insulin in order to
postpartum risk of diabetes among obese as well as non-obese women before GDM. Researcher
has performed cross-sectional survey for last 1 to 5 years after 1263 women who had GDM gave
birth. The result has found that dysfunctionality of cells, resistance of insulin and decreased
sensitivity of insulin all were connected with hyperglycaemic status by over weight, obese
groups and normal weight and minimised insulin activity is same.
Article 2: Risk of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus following Gestational Diabetes Pregnancy in
Women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.
As per findings of Lo and et.al., (2017) The main aim of article was to found out risk of
Type 2 diabetes with Gestation Diabetes with PCOS as well as the risk of type 2 diabetes
mellitus persuading GDM pregnancy. Researcher has used cohort methods to determine the
prevalence as well as predictor of GDM in which 988 pregnant women with PCOS is being
taken. After doing deep study, researcher has found some results. Over 988, 192 women with
PCOS has developed GDM. Asian race, older age, pregnancy obesity, family history DM,

multiple gestation are included in Multi variable predictors. Further, the study also examine the
ethnic and racial differences in the result where scholar has found the role of androgen excess,
modifiable risk factors and weight status. --------------- also found that, risk of causing type 2
diabetes is influenced by physical activity, lactation etc.
Articles 3: Prevalence of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus among Women and the Associated Risk
Factors
As per the Cheekurthy, Rambabu and Kumar, (2016) The main aim of article was to
found out risk of Type 2 diabetes as Type 2 diabetes has become global heath issue especially in
women, the prevalence of non-communicable disease like Type 2 diabetes is increasing. In south
Asians, women suffering from diabetes are standing on second highest rate. About 9 percent of
women are diabetic and about 55 percent of women are dying because of diabetes. Knowler and
et.al., (2002) identified that, the life span of women suffering from diabetes decreases by 7.5
years. Environmental, genetic and biochemical are the major risk factors that contributes to Type
2 diabetes. This is because of liquid abnormalities characterized by raising in the Total
Cholesterol, Triglycerides, LDL as well as reduction in concentration of HDL. As per the
articles, in Asia, the prevalence of Sri Lanka and Nepal are on top in diabetes in women. There
are many reasons but the main cause is increasing the level of insulin not increasing of blood
sugar. But Nathan, (2002) argued that, obesity is the main cause of increasing prevalence of
diabetes in women.
Article 4: Metabolic Syndrome Risk after Gestation Diabetes
According to Xu and et.al., (2014) the main purpose of article was to investigate the risk
of metabolic syndrome (MS) after GDM. The result evaluated by the scholar is very
contradictory. The method which is used by scholar is Pubmed, Cochrane databases and ISI web
of science. Scholar has conducted 17 studies in which 8532 are women. The outcomes of this
article is that women with history of gestational diabetes has very high risk of MS as compare to
those who had normal pregnancy. Further, scholar also identified Feig and et.al., (2008) the meta
analysis incontestable that rise in the risk of MS after gestational diabetes in which it is identified
that attention must be given in delaying or preventing the oncoming of MS in GDM mothers
specially in obese and Caucasian mothers.

Articles 5: Diabetes in Asia: Special Challenges and Solutions
According to Hussain, (2018) The main aim of articles was to special challenges and
diabetes is the global challenges and risk in Asia. Egyptians has recognised the first time about
the diabetes around 1500 BC. The disease is identified by Indians physicians and give the name
madhymegha that means honey in urine. Type 2 diabetes is one of the most common diabetes.
In South Asian women, the prevalence of gestation diabetes is on top. In Vietnam and Singapore,
the prevalence of Gestation diabetes is very high which is 18.93% and 20.6% respectively.
Further, the deficiency of B12 in non-vegetarian women also suffers from Type 2 diabetes.
CONCLUSION
The above report comes to the conclusion that Type 2 diabetes has become the global
challenge as it has covered quarter of Asian population suffering from type 2 diabetes. After
reviewing the above five articles, women are suffering from diabetes with the high rate and it has
become on of the great challenge for healthcare department and government of nation. Further, it
was also found that more than 36 million of people each year is suffering from chronic disease.
