Types of business legal structures
and their purposes
• Public sector: There are three types of undertakings in public
sector one of them is department under taking. Services are
provided like railways, broadcastings, postal services etc., for
the benefit of the consumers.
• NHS is National Health Service who is dealing with over 1
million of patients in every three days. For all UK residents,
NHS in England remain free at a point of use. carrying out
activities.services. Its mission is to improve health of patients
and wellbeing of employees through excellence in carrying out
activities.

• Non -profit organisation or voluntary
organisation: These types of organisations are
formed towards cultural, social, educational, or public
service objectives
• NCRI which is National Cancer Research Institute is
an NPO. This institute is providing clinics to the
cancer patients for treatment as well as research work
is carried on. It promotes research in cancer. Its
mission is to provide health benefits by extracting
adequate cancer research.

• Private organisation: The private enterprises are
owned and controlled by individuals or shareholders
or it may be in group which is not controlled by State.
• The example taken into consideration in this report is
British Home Stores which is abbreviated as BHS.
The British Home Stores became a part of Green
Arcadia Group founded in 2009. Its mission is to
provide quality clothing items to customers for
enhancing their satisfaction.

Size and scope of different types of
organisation
• Public organisation: The size of the public
sector is larger. The public organisations are
accountable for public entities. NHS has 1.4
million of employees
• Voluntary organisations: The size of
voluntary organisations is hard to define.
Charities are the part of social responsibility
fulfilled by organisations.

• Private organisation: The scope of the
private sector is to earn maximum profit. The
size of the private enterprise can be small,
medium or large. The private enterprises deal
with limited liability. Size of BHS is that it has
11000 employees.
