JUSTIFICATION OF INNOVATION
Justification of the Innovation:
Road accidents claim hundreds of lives every day and the numbers are increasing
every year. In 2017 the number of lives lost due to accidents were 136, however in 2018 only
up to now the number has increased to 148 (Roadsafety.transport.nsw.gov.au., 2018). Many
of such accidents are caused by the negligence of the car health. The tyres and the wheels of
the car is very essential for safely driving the car. However it is often seen that the tyres and
the wheels are the most neglected parts of the car. When a new car is bought it is often seen
that the car company is providing with safety manuals which often mention what is the ideal
car tyre air pressure that should be maintained at all circumstances. Also there are ideal
temperature which the tyres must not exceed and there must be regular repairs of even very
minor problems and injuries in the car tyres. Most of the time it is seen that the people do not
even read the manual and they do not check the pressure of their car daily. If the car tyre
pressure is too low or too high, in both the cases there can be accidents. When the tyres get
too much heated the car tyre burst and sudden burst of the tyre often leads to unforeseen
situations where the car may skid or meet with an accident. This problem of the car accidents
needs to be resolved by innovating new technologies that will help the car owners and drivers
to maintain ideal condition of the cars.
The innovation suggested in this case is a device that will be fitted with the car tyres
that will be functioning in two ways, one by keeping vigilance on the tyre and secondly by
doing what is required to bring the tyre to the ideal situation for safely running. The car tyre
must be supplied with air when there is lesser air and the air must be freed when the pressure
is higher.
The solution to the above mentioned problem will be given by a very unique device. It
will be a device which measures pressure of tyre and refill or remove when it is required, and

it measures the temperature of the tier and keep notifying the driver so that he/she can take
necessary action (Kubba & Jiang, 2014).
The device will be in the shape of plate which can be fit on the rim of the tyre. There
will be air compressor tank to store air (Hoever, 2012). The capacity of the tank will be equal
to total pressure of all tier of the car. For example, if the tyre pressure for one tyre is 32 psi
and there are 4 tires in car then the capacity of tank will be 128.
If device will measure temperature or pressure of the tyre less or more than specific
level, it will start its operation and will notify the driver. If it will measure pressure more than
specific level, it will remove the air from the tyre till specified level. And if the pressure is
low then it will fill the air in tyre. And if it finds that the pressure is decreasing continuously
then it means there is puncture in tyre and that devices will refill the air leakage liquid in tyre
to fix the puncture along with the air.
The main benefit if this idea is it will decrease the ratio of the road accident which
occurs because of the break down in tyre. And also, other benefit of this idea is that the driver
will not have to stop the vehicle to fix the problems.
This idea will be producing benefits from a number of perspectives, from the
consumer’s point of view, from the business owner’s point of view and from the social point
of view. The consumers will be benefitted by safer drives, and lesser worries about tyres. The
business and the owner will be benefitted by the revenue generated. The social benefit will be
employment generation, tax collection of the government and lesser accident ratio.
Business innovations needs to be working in a way that it produces benefits for the
society and it also produces benefits for the customers while earning revenue for the
company. The mentioned business idea will be immensely popular as it will be solving one of
the greatest problems of the society which is not only a problem but also fatal in its nature.

The device will be automatically supplying air, or removing air from the car tyre when it is
necessary. This reduces the need of the car owner or driver to stop the car and engage in air
filling activities. The device will also produce liquid that will temporarily repair any fissures
in the tyre, and it will also keep close vigilance on the tyres and let the people know every
details about the tyre continuously. What is important in this business is it will reduce
fatalities considerably and also help the car owners in enjoying a hassle free ride.
In coming days it is expected that the company will be further working on innovations
that will solve many other problems related to car accidents. Presently many companies are
working on devices that will be prevent the car from colliding with other cars and the
machine will also help the driver drive safely in congested city areas. This device which is
fitted in the tyres of the cars will accompany such a collision prevention devise to make car
driving the most pleasant and easy experience and a lot safer than what it is today.
Therefore the justification of the innovation lies in its usage and function. The
reduction of fatality rates is the need of the hour for establishing a safer driving environment
for Australian roads. This device will fulfil such a need and more innovations in the future
will add value to the devise.
