Describe the UAE environmental policy(s) and the overall objective of it
With the ramified economic changes, strengthening the green areas and making the
environment more positive considered to be the main objective of the UAE’s development
policies. The main impact of these policies is found on the strengthening the green areas,
developing water preservation system, improving the marine environment and protecting it from
the pollution to preserve the livestock’s (Ajmal, Malik, & Saber, 2017). The main objective of
environment policies and program in UAE is developed by the Federal government agency and
other concerned department of country is to strengthening the green areas and making the
environment more positive to preserve fisheries and other livestock (Reiche, 2010).
Describe the various bodies responsible for environmental public policy at the federal,
emirate, and local levels
These environment protection policies are managed by the government on three different
levels named the federal, emirate, and local levels (Al-Ali, 2008). However, there are several
agencies who are responsible for environmental public policy at the federal, emirate, and local
levels such as Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, individual emirates bodies, department of
tourism and commerce and department of environmental and protections (Alaiwi, Khalfan,
Sagoo, A., & Georgy, 2017).
Federal government agency
It is analyzed that on the international federal level, Federal government agency undertakes the
entire environment protection policies and rules for environment related issue.
Provincial government-
With the national policies on environment is a liability or responsibilities of the Ministry,
provincial government who endeavor towards translating guidelines into the regional context.

Municipal government (Dubai Municipality, Dubai Civil Defense, Department of Finance)
It is related to implementing the local environmental policies and strategy with a view to manage
the environment. These authorities prepare the local regulations and legal implications on the
environmental protection on local level. Municipalities in UAE also work public authorities such
as Water Board, and other authorities who take imperative decisions (Ajmal, Malik, & Saber,
(2017).
However, with the changes in time, in order to strengthen the environment protections and
preservation of the fisheries and livestock, UAE has made progressive changes in its
environment protections and policies program (Ajmal, et al. 2017). The newly policies introduce
by the UAE federal government agency has focused on conserving the water and energy
consumption in its business process. Furthermore, new environment protection SH1 has also
been introduced to mitigate the negative impact of desalination which arises due to the increased
use of CO2 causing acidification of the sea which have eventually and subsequently increase the
level of ocean’s temperature (Hunjra, et al. 2017).
