PROJECT MANAGEMENT
1. Project management implementation as well as practices
a) Proper elaboration of project tools, techniques and methodologies
The newly implemented app of the Uber is considered as the most user friendly app that
was developed for providing proper benefit to both the customers as well as the users. The
application of the Uber which was developed is helpful in providing a number of benefits to the
drivers and assists them in earning money in a very much updated as well as smarter way. The
developed application of the Uber driver will further helpful in collaboration with the different
delivery partners as well as drivers quite together. In order to develop the Uber driver app, it is
found that a number of project management processes, methodologies as well as various types of
tools and techniques are generally utilized.
It is found that in order to develop the application, proper financial methodologies are
mainly used. It is found that proper financial methodologies including payback period, return on
investment, net present value as well as internal rate of return is generally utilized (Kerzner &
Kerzner, 2017). The payback period generally refers to the amount of time that is generally
needed for recovering the cost of an investment. It is found that the desirability of investment is
generally associated to its entire payback period.
The project utilizes different set of tools and techniques that are listed by the PMI
methodology for the project. The different types of tools and tools and techniques that are used
include Gantt chart as with the help of the Gantt chart, entire schedule for the project is
developed successfully (Kerzner, 2017). The Gantt charts are considered as one of tool that helps
in providing a clear picture of the entire schedule for providing a realistic timeframe for the
project. In addition to this, it generally helps in disintegrating the project activities into smaller
activities so that it will be easier for the project team to execute the entire project quite

effectively. Additionally, the project Gantt chart that is used in the project is considered as one of
the sequence that includes various activities that are interdependent which can be finished before
the entire project activities can be finished quite effectively.
The project also follows sequential project management processes by the associates of
the project for properly meeting the objectives as well as goals. The different phases are needed
to be followed for accomplishing the project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring as well
as closure phase so that the app for the Uber driver can get developed quite effectively. The
project management procedures are generally connected with each other for meeting the project
objectives (Joslin & Muller, 2015). In addition to this, it is found that the team of project
management generally have appropriate understanding about the different processes which are
helpful in governing the project as per the project goals that are expected.
b) How the processes are creating impact on the project success/failure
The newly developed app by the Uber driver is very much effective as well as user
friendly. It is found that the entire app is mainly developed by properly considering the different
PM, tools, techniques as well as methodologies (Hornstein, 2015). The PM processes that are
mainly utilized by the team members for properly designing as well as developing the entire app
is by using proper project methodology. The development procedure for the entire app will
generally get initiated after proper estimating the cost and project timeframe. After successfully
analyzing, it is analyzed that the Uber app that will be developed will generally helpful in
providing proper commercial success.
In addition to this, it is found that the developed app is helpful in achieving proper project
opportunities to both the drivers as well as for the users of the app. It is found that with the new
application, the drivers can easily reach to the location of the customer by using the app and can

be able to track on the update. The drivers can easily helpful in tracking the progress. In addition
to this, the clients can generally get the entire earning summary with the help of the developed
app. Moreover, it is found that the drivers can easily track the location by utilizing the map with
proper roadmap route (Sánchez, 2015). Moreover, even if the internet connection is low then it
will generally not negatively affect the entire procedure. The users can generally remain updated
about the various upcoming events as well as by the coming opportunities. In addition to this, the
app development helps in making the jobs of the drivers much easier. Thus, after successful
analysis of all the present features, it is analyzed that the Uber app will bring success.
2. Competencies of project team
a) Explanation about the success and failure of the Uber project
The case study that is provided on the development of an application for the Uber driver
helps in providing proper information as well as knowledge about the entire project. I have learnt
from this project that for developing the new app, the project managers generally need to used
proper PM tools, techniques, methodologies as well as different PM processes. After
undertaking appropriate analysis on the entire scenario, proper information about the app and
their benefits in the life of the drivers are portrayed quite effectively. Proper benefits as well as
achievements that are generally gained after the utilization of proper project management
methodology are also achieved. In addition to this, it is analyzed that the use of financial
methodology, helps in stakeholders to minimize the challenges that they face and assists them in
handling the entire project scenario quite effectively.
Furthermore, the stakeholders must have the capability of properly governing the entire
project towards the success that is generally achieved with the help of PM methodologies. In
order to create proper culture of PM in the project, it is quite necessary to engage the project

stakeholders within the project. Proper as well as appropriate selection of project management
tools plays an important tool in successfully creating the schedule of the entire project quite
effectively. Moreover, my learning from the project also includes that project team members can
be motivated with the utilization of correct approach so that the entire productivity in context to
services needs to be increased. If suitable PM processes are generally used in the entire project,
then it will be easy for the project management to estimate the needed schedule as well as time
that is mainly required for the entire project. Moreover, I learnt that well management project
activities play an important role in accomplishing the project objectives and goals.
b) Impact of the project on success/failure
I generally think the use of PM process, tools and techniques generally creates a major
impact on the success of the project. As for developing the app, the project managers utilize agile
project methodologies that not only encourage the project team members for managing the
project tasks but also help in minimizing the risks which are associated with the project and as a
result the entire app will be developed successfully within the expected budget. Thus, I have
analyzed that the utilization of PM methodologies has generally played a major role in making
the app development project quite successful.
Moreover, I have determined that the variance that is mainly determined within the
planned as well as actual value of the project during the entire progress period will generally be
required to be successfully developed by the developers for accomplishing the objectives. I
generally realized that for reducing the complexity that is associated with the tools and technique
selection needs to be reduced. The tools like Gantt chart that is considered to be helpful within
the project as it generally helps in managing the entire schedule of the project and assists in
executing the activities of the project successfully.

Moreover, I have analyzed that the newly developed app is very much eco-friendly and
the users can be able to get proper trip service with the help of the app whereas the drivers will
get proper overview with the help of the app in order to get information about location of the
customers, roadmap and more. All this features that are generally added within the Uber driver
app is generally possible due to use of proper project methodology that makes the development
of the features successful that further helps in providing a number of benefits to both the users as
well as developers. Moreover, it is analyzed that the operation of the entire app is considered to
be very much effective in context to change management approaches as well as proper
development. Moreover, it is analyzed by me that proper development can generally helpful in
improving the entire operational abilities of the entire app.
