Introduction
The report will highlight the issues associated with Uber and the relevant management theories
that can be applied in order to make sure the external factors are covered effectively. The report
will highlight the application of corporate social responsibility in the current operation of the
organization and make effective changes in the future needs of the same.
Organization Analysis
The company that was taken for group presentation is Uber London Limited, this is one of the
most used and most reliable transportation services in London that has been operating since 2009
and operating in over 60 countries. The major issue that the company is facing is rising
competition from OLA and Bolt. This has been rapidly capturing the market of Uber and
creating business issues. To resolve these issues the best management theory is contingency
management theory that can be best applicable to the size of the organization and the technical
support to the employees. The leadership style that can best apply in this situation is the
transformational style of leadership that is effective in motivating and encouraging employees to
deal with overall situations associated with the growth and development of the organization. This
leadership style will be best known for encouragement that can be given to all the employees to
spread innovation and creativity to develop own ideas and policies associated with the place. The
contingency theory also says that there can be no particular style of management in the situation
but in order to deal with the needs of the scenario this is important to develop ways to eliminate
the threat of competition. The employees can be motivated and trained to be more market
independent and more involved in the feasibility analysis in order to make sure there is no further
development in the overall process thus making changes in the current operational structure
(Islam, et. al., 2012).
Corporate Social Responsibility
The need for corporate social responsibility in Uber is to develop good practices to deal with
corporate and regular issues and citizens. Uber has been applying CSR to show their ethical
conducts and accounting the impact of their actions on the society in the future. The need to
adopt CSR in the strategy is to develop a current position on the society and make future issues

more aligned in the process. Uber has used CSR by applying good management practices and
management participation in the operations. The senior management gives full participation and
takes full responsibility to deal with the social issues and future needs of society. Another
application of the company includes accepting and adapting global practices that include legal
and cultural features to be used in the process in order to make sure the same is applied to current
practices and future needs of the society. Uber has engaged all its stakeholders effectively to
make sure that all the stakeholders are well satisfied and well aligned with the overall process
associated with the same. Uber has made sure they have built right reputation and long run
practices in the process just to make sure the same is well aligned with the global needs and
future development of the society and sustaining good values for future. They have always
accepted criticism and negativity properly and well aligned in order to make sure the same is
applied to overall needs of the society (Servaes & Tamayo, 2013).
Brexit impact on Uber
Brexit has imposed some stricter regulation on the transportation companies thus affecting the
operation nature of Uber in European countries. The CEO Travis Kalanick said there is not much
impact on the operations of Uber post-Brexit. As per the Brexit hasn’t imposed any current
challenges on the operations of Uber which was estimated to be $60 million. They say that the
need for transportation will never end so will the need to provide services by Uber thus the same
will help in making better transportation system in London. The company believes as long as
there are roads there will be a need for this business. The strengthening of US laws will help in
making potential development and substantial changes in the overall independence of the
company and its operations. There might be some cases in which the company might need to
wave off some cars in future but the company says they are planning to control this scenario by
2025 in order to make sure the development is fine. There might be some issues faced due to
investors not being able to cope up with the current changes in the society. There might be some
critical situation with the employment structure of the company but none of the reaction has
come with full impact (Chandran, 2016).

Personal reflection
My role in this group is to discuss about Weaknesses and Recommendations, this decision has
been agreed between the rest of my colleagues, thus establishing for everyone what they will
have to present on the exam day For the completion of this task I have to research credible
information and find it on online Newspapers such as The Independent (2017) and Financial
Times (2019). To complete these tasks, I have realized that we must limit ourselves to strictly
useful information because otherwise, space did not allow us. This presentation gives me a good
experience and proof of how we can work and synchronize our team to complete different tasks.
To support my team I have created specifically for poster presentation a WhatsApp group
requesting my colleagues' contact details and tried to always be active, I tried to participate with
new ideas for the poster, having access to more useful information about Uber because my job
consists in be a partner with Uber cooperative.
Conclusion
The report was helpful in understanding the impact of internal and external factors on the
operations of the company. This has helped in developing an understanding accurate policies to
be used and management theories to be applied to develop the company operations and avoid all
negative factors affecting business.
