INTRODUCTION
Growth opportunities can be describe as the options that should be successfully attain by
business for the success of organisation. This report is based on Uber company. This
organisation is dealing in transportation sector and it is providing its services to different part of
the world (Loderer, Stulz and Waelchli, 2017). Uber company was developed in year 2009 and
founder of this organisation is Garret Camp and Travis Kalanick. Headquarter of this
organisation is located in San Francisco, California. This report will includes mission, vision and
aim of business. It will includes information regarding culture, power and politics. In this Handy
model is determined along with different content and process theories. Apart from this impact on
theories to improve effectiveness has been identified.

Uber mission, vision and aim.
Mission of Uber – The mission of respective company is to ignite the opportunities by
setting the motions in the world.
Vision of Uber – Its vision is to create the smarter transportation with less cars and
greater access as well as safer options.
Aim – The aim Uber company is to provide better services to customers in order to meet
with their needs and want. This company focus is to provide all types of logistical and
transportation services.
Culture, power and politics.
Organisation culture, power and politics will lead to have major business practices. This
will impact on the behaviour and performance of employees (Keller, 2017). It is essential that
Uber company have accurate culture, politics and power in order to enhance business operations.
Culture can be describe as the beliefs, values that will impact over the behave of
employees with in the organisation. Culture in organisation consider of the attitude and
behaviour that will developing working environment.
Power refer as the ability of the person to take decision and develop strategies of
business. It is significant for providing direction to employees for attaining goals.

Politics in organisation is consider as the self service behaviour in order to conduct
business practices. This will includes the variety of activities that are associated with the use of
tactics to influence performance of employees.
The behaviour of Uber team will be highly influenced by the culture, power and politics.
All of these elements will lead to provide guidance and direction to carry out business task in
most effective and efficient manner.
Effect of power and politics in development of culture.
Power and politics of organisation will lead to have direct impact on culture
development. If Uber company have negative politics and power is used inappropriately then it
will lead to create negative working culture for employees (Lee, Shin and Stulz, 2016). Where as
authorities employees are using power in most accurate manner and it has positive politics then
Uber company will have strong and effective culture for employees.
There are different models that is significant for determining different culture such as
Handy model. This model is developed by Charles Handy with the motive of defining different
organisational culture. It includes -
Power culture – In this type of culture power is held by fewer individual with in the
company. This culture will includes more rules and regulation with in business.
Role culture – This refer as the culture in which all employees are have clear
understanding and information about their roles.
Task culture – In this type of culture a proper team is developed that is responsible for
performing and conducting business practices.
Person culture – This type of culture will includes more important to the employees or
people. In this all people will have similar types of training and expertise.
Content and process theories
Content motivation theories are focusing in the what of motivation as well as determining
things that will motivate individual. This includes Maslow's hierarchy of need and Herzberg.
Process theories of motivation has more focus on the how of motivation (Jordan, Kim and Liu,
2016). This will includes psychological and behavioural process.

Maslow hierarchy of needs – This is motivation theory which is developed in order to
determine different needs of individual. This motivational theory will provide guidance
to business for enhancing potential of employees by full filling their needs.
Herzberg hygiene – This theory is developed by Frederick Herzberg and as per this
theory there are two different factor such as motivation and hygiene factor which needs
to be consider for motivating employees.
Mayo's theory of motivation – This is motivational theory which is focusing on the
human relations. As per this theory organisation should treat employees as individual not
as machines.
Vroom's Expectancy theory – This theory is majorly focusing on the conscious choice
between different alternative whose motive is to enhance pleasure and minimize the pain.

needs of employees as well as motivate them to work more effectively and efficiently.

employees or effectiveness of Uber employees.
Vroom's Expectancy theory - This will help in motivating employees through correct
choose to increase pleasure.

Motivation is significant for improving commitment with in employees and this will
helps in increasing employees retention. It will improve cohesive teams and improve the
performance of employees (Fogel and Sarin, 2017). Motivation is significant increasing the level
of confidence with in employees as well as trust between employees and employer will be
developed. Through this the acceptance of responsibility will be developed along with
competence skills.

From the above report it has been identified that it is very important for company to
determine and analyse growth opportunities in order to enhance business practices. There are
different theories of motivation which are majorly classified into two parts such as content and
process theories.
