INTRODUCTION
Reflection is the defined as change in direction of an individual and wave front at an
interface between two different media so that it return in to medium from which it originated.
The person have different perception who sees things from their point of perception and making
the decisions (Arnold and Boggs, 2019). In other words, serious thought or consideration that
states what people are thinking and how they make the improvements in their overall working
process. Personal and professional development means activities that be uses to describe self and
states strength which can help to bring improvement by overcoming the weakness. This report
mainly consider importance of skills and activities which can help in growth and development.
This assignment will help me to define my skill and weakness that noticed in different
workshops and how I overcome them. Moreover, uses of theories and model helps to make
improvement in level of skills that complete task and provide proper assistance.

Personal reflection is the process which is uses by individuals for looking themselves in
to a mirror and describe what they see. This is the ways of assessing a person, their ways of
working and how they study. This is important for all to use the personal reflection that can help
to understand their skills and talent which they uses to complete the task and manages the
performance. Reflection helps to develop the skills and reviews their effectiveness instead of just
carry on doing things (Deveugele, 2015). While studying in University, I attended many
workshops which was part of study I noticed on my strength and weakness. Workshops were
organised and directed by me at the time of taking courses which helped me know in which
activities I am good and in which weak. Reflection is all about questioning, in a positive way that
tell why to do and what to do then decide a better action which can help to manage all task and
complete the workings. Leadership is the main quality which I observed in myself at the time of
handling various exercise where my tutors suggest me to be a leader of all member as I am able
to lead team, organise functions, welcome guest and managing all activities which is important
for all functions. I do have good communication skills, management skills, problem solving,
finishing work, resilience, deceive thinker, delegation and other traits which uses by me to
perform well and improve the development.

While working for workshops I noticed my one quality that is leadership in which I
worked very effectively and proficiently that has increased my skills and talent to manage people
and get completion of work. Leadership is the process which uses by some people out of many to
lead their member and provide them right direction to work which can help to increases the self
performance. Leadership is important in each activity as number of people are working in a
group who needs personal direction and suggestions to bring changes and improve their own
performance (Preston, 2019) . At the time of exercising I used Trait theory that is related to
leadership which told me what are the my traits and how to complete assigned task in certain
period. In workshop I worked as a leader that helped to predict effective leadership
characteristics and traits from different perception which supported me to develop my self and
intelligence qualities that made me feel good and leader out of many members. For becoming a
leader there is needed to many qualities such as set the decision, share with people who has
involved in work, get their views, sharing of information, identify the problem and let get them
solution which can help to operate the further activities continuously and increased the
performance. This is important theory that is uses by analysing own skills and characteristics that
tells how to complete the work along with other people as they have different culture method of
working. But, in workshop activities I worked as a leader as have quality of leader which
increased my skills to managing people and analysing their performance that finish the work
effectively. By applying Trait leadership theory I analysed some key strength such as trait theory
is effective that depends on traits of my self which maximises the profitability, this can help to
solve the complex situation and acknowledge that people have great assets which is uses to
complete task, improve the working capabilities that can help to maintain high profitability.
As this quality I displayed in exercising the career development workshop where I was
responsible to handle all induction programme, providing information about courses which
provides by college, lecture of career programs, and managing the team members. This task was
challenging for me as to be a leader and organise this workshop properly that can influence
people towards their career and make decision to participate in college activities. At that time I
used my leadership quality by making strategies, exploration of career development programme,
proper communication and influencing people that helped me to complete the assigned task and
become successful. I noticed that my communication skills is very good where I spoke to every
member individually and told them what should they do by assigning them roles and

worked very effectively and proficiently that has increased my skills and talent to manage people

give the preference to all member and task equally so that they feel good and take the right action
by completing task. Communication, learning and delegation is very important for leadership
quality that I had and give me suggestion to share the strategic plans with team members so that
their mutual consent will help to deliver better services. Giving thanks, respect and values
actually make a good leader that quality I have and make me different from other which also
influenced other members and encouraged them to work with me. While workshop I used this
attribute and values that lead to higher self esteem, satisfaction, reduced anxiety, depression and
better sleep by working properly. Moreover, my learning ability helped me to know what to do
and what don't do that explored my leadership qualities. With the help of such traits and
attributes I became a good leader and accept all changes effectively (MacLean and et. al., 2017).
Difficulties are the challenges which faces by individuals while working and get a best
solution if person have good quality and skills. At the time of exercised the workshop I faced
many difficulties which became challenge for me to complete task by overcoming the
challenges. The major difficulty was not having enough time to exercise workshops, self
conscious about how I look, lack of written skills, fear from past experience and not support
from my family that might be reduce my performance and could weak my leadership quality. In
workshop I noticed that task handled by my tutor to me at the less time where I was confused
what to do and how to encourage people for participating in programs. As I was weak in written
skills and fear from past experience which made me upset towards working. Moreover, when I
told to my family regarding this workshop they did not support me due to health issue and lack
of time as they know that I will start to take stress. These all challenges I faced in working that
may provide negative results. If I talk about my experience about this, then it was little because
before this I was busy in study and rarely participate in activities that created a challenging point
to manage all workshop and organise them effectively. At that moment I got energetic because of

and gratitude skills I accepted challenges. For solving the time management difficulty I squeeze
short walks through out the day, get up earlier and revamp the rituals help to work properly. To
solve self conscious problem I started to sport my self by standing in front of mirror and focus on
future which give the solution of facing people. And the last difficulty that was face by me not
getting family support in my efforts for this I make understand in polite ways and slowly about
workshop and its benefits as how these all will help me develop my skills and make a good
bright future so they supported me to complete task by managing all activities. From the
discussion it has defined that trait theory is beneficial for every individual as it identify the
difficulties and get solution of overcoming which increases the self development and maintain
high performance. This theory build premise that leaders are distinctive, boast a research century
for confirming and managing all task. This can help to operate the workshop and became a
successful leader at the workplace (Kurtz, Draper and Silverman, 2017).

was not to share problems with anyone, saying no for new task etc. While working in workshop I
stated to share or communicate with all team member and get their new views which helped me
to solve the problems and complete the assigned work. This can be understand by an example
my strength was communication skills and leadership where I created new ideas for running the
workshop with the help of all team members that will attracts the candidates and participants and
showing their interest too. Once I really get depressed from difficulties where I felt that now this
workshop will not be success due to lack of coordination and communication between team

and seniors who have more knowledge than me and also they have experience to work

me uncomfortable and unconscious about my action that states I am not able to handle the
situation. But having leadership skills and learning attribute solve my all problems and give me
suggestions to complete the working properly. This can help to improve the working condition
and maintain the good performance at workplace (Siddiq, Scherer and Tondeur, 2016).
