Personal development refers to the activities that helps in developing the capabilities and
potential, helps in building the human capital and also enhance the quality of life of an
individual and helps in achieving the goals and objectives of a person. Professional development
refers to the set of tools , resources and various training sessions for the educators that helps to
improve their teaching quality and helps in achieving their goals in the future(Ward, and van der
Mars, 2020). The sessions conducted helps the learner to gain more knowledge in their subject
area. With the help training sessions it not only helps in professional development but also in
their personal development. The reflective essay is based personal and professional development
and quality and application of this theory. The attributes, behavioural preferences and values that

I personally believe that Leadership is that personal quality what I think the most
important and significant personal quality of mine. Over the time by attending various workshop
exercises, module experiences and other examinations and tasks the leadership quality has been
emerged as my foremost personal ability. Leadership is a quality which enable a persona to lead
others and take responsibilities on owns shoulders. This is the most attractive personal character
which makes a person attractive and also hikes its confidence too.
As the leadership theory āCharismatic leadershipā (Kiral, 2020) which says that a leader
is the person who is a visionary and drives others for certain purpose, also keeps them motivated
too. Such person is charming and persuasive the qualities it has also makes the followers to
achieve their potential. Leadership is the quality of a person to influence others and also guide
them. This quality makes a person successful in both its personal and professional life.
Throughout various tasks and practices I found this as my most important personal quality which
enables me to be the centre of contemplation. It makes me the person who can drive others with
its characteristics like integrity, empathy, accountability, positivity, vision, resilience, vision and
humbleness etc (Guhr, Lebek and Breitner, 2019)

initiatives too, which opens the way of self development in both personal life and professional
life. A person feels stronger if he is having confidence so my leadership ability strengthens me to
be more attractive and influential.
For example- While going through the workshop being a part of a team of ten members
we were given a project with respect to our subject in which we had to form our project plan,
methodology, personal plans, execution and at the end undertaking the progress. Working with
the other members of team I took the responsibility to lead the project since the members were
not sure how to start and how to proceed, it was also making the project plan rough and vague.
At that moment I proposed my plan which influenced them, then they all unanimously allowed
me to lead them and I formed team plan, work allocation to the members, sorting out individual
problems and also motivated them. At the end of the project we carried out it even better than the
plan and won the workshop contest. I think this was the incident when my leadership quality was
reflected first time.
Throughout the session I have learned that leadership is an ability of an individual that
helps in guiding the other people. Along with this, I have also learned that leadership require a
lot of skill like communication and interpersonal skill. Moreover, I have also realized that my
decision-making power is not very good and due to that I am not able to take right action for
dealing with the situation. Along with this, I have also realized that I need to have control over
emotional intelligence so that I can take control over the emotion while working. Moreover,
it is necessary to deal with the stress so that task is completed efficiently (Gandolfi and Stone,
2018). In addition to this, I have analysed that my behaviour trait is openness and due to that
I am able to work effectively with the people and able to make healthy relation with them.

decision making skills. I realised that was not able to set the time line for the completion of the
specified task. Due to this I was not able to complete my work project on time as we were not
able to distribute the work effectively which resulted in consumption of time(Swart, 2019). But
I realised that I was able to lead the project buy on the other hand it took me a lot time to
distribute the responsibilities . Then I observed that having only strong leadership qualities is not
necessary but in order to succeed in the future I have work on improving my time management
skills as well. On the other hand I also realised that that was slow at making relevant decision
which can be a barrier in the situations where quick decision have to be made(Hensel, et.al,
2021). It is important for me to have effective decision making skills which will help me to take
the decisions quickly and in effective manner. In order to achieve my goals I have to focus on
evaluating the skills that is required which can be helpful in attaining my future goals and also
