INTRODUCTION
Personal development refers to the activities that helps in developing the capabilities and
potential, helps in building the human capital and also enhance the quality of life of an
individual and helps in achieving the goals and objectives of a person. Professional development
refers to the set of tools , resources and various training sessions for the educators that helps to
improve their teaching quality and helps in achieving their goals in the future(Ward, and van der
Mars, 2020). The sessions conducted helps the learner to gain more knowledge in their subject
area. With the help training sessions it not only helps in professional development but also in
their personal development. The reflective essay is based personal and professional development
and quality and application of this theory. The attributes, behavioural preferences and values that
support the strengths and the challenges faced in the experience.

Personal and professional development
I personally believe that Leadership is that personal quality what I think the most
important and significant personal quality of mine. Over the time by attending various workshop
exercises, module experiences and other examinations and tasks the leadership quality has been
emerged as my foremost personal ability. Leadership is a quality which enable a persona to lead
others and take responsibilities on owns shoulders. This is the most attractive personal character
which makes a person attractive and also hikes its confidence too.
As the leadership theory “Charismatic leadership” (Kiral, 2020) which says that a leader
is the person who is a visionary and drives others for certain purpose, also keeps them motivated
too. Such person is charming and persuasive the qualities it has also makes the followers to
achieve their potential. Leadership is the quality of a person to influence others and also guide
them. This quality makes a person successful in both its personal and professional life.
Throughout various tasks and practices I found this as my most important personal quality which
enables me to be the centre of contemplation. It makes me the person who can drive others with
its characteristics like integrity, empathy, accountability, positivity, vision, resilience, vision and
humbleness etc (Guhr, Lebek and Breitner, 2019)
Charismatic leadership theory which believes a person do leadership by influencing
others with its exceptional qualities. But I personally believe that having just exceptional quality
is not sufficed a person also needs ability to put that on the ground. I found my leadership quality

a unique and essential strength for me. Which helped me in many ways like throughout the
workshops, examinations and working on different modules I experienced it myself to be more
affective due to my this ability. It helps me many ways like easy and affective communication,
making good relationship, bringing more efficiency in my performance and being more
productive too (Klonek, 2020) It also aids to eradicate the fear while working and enable to take
initiatives too, which opens the way of self development in both personal life and professional
life. A person feels stronger if he is having confidence so my leadership ability strengthens me to
be more attractive and influential.
For example- While going through the workshop being a part of a team of ten members
we were given a project with respect to our subject in which we had to form our project plan,
methodology, personal plans, execution and at the end undertaking the progress. Working with
the other members of team I took the responsibility to lead the project since the members were
not sure how to start and how to proceed, it was also making the project plan rough and vague.
At that moment I proposed my plan which influenced them, then they all unanimously allowed
me to lead them and I formed team plan, work allocation to the members, sorting out individual
problems and also motivated them. At the end of the project we carried out it even better than the
plan and won the workshop contest. I think this was the incident when my leadership quality was
reflected first time.
Throughout the session I have learned that leadership is an ability of an individual that
helps in guiding the other people. Along with this, I have also learned that leadership require a
lot of skill like communication and interpersonal skill. Moreover, I have also realized that my
decision-making power is not very good and due to that I am not able to take right action for
dealing with the situation. Along with this, I have also realized that I need to have control over
emotional intelligence so that I can take control over the emotion while working. Moreover,
it is necessary to deal with the stress so that task is completed efficiently (Gandolfi and Stone,
2018). In addition to this, I have analysed that my behaviour trait is openness and due to that
I am able to work effectively with the people and able to make healthy relation with them.
Although as a leader it is important to have this kind of behaviour so that I am able to work
collaborative with other. Furthermore, I have also analysed that I need to work on my
behavioural preference such as critical thinking which is important for finding the accurate
solution for the things. Although my strength is I am a quick learner and due to that I am able to

grasp knowledge easily and as a leader it is important for having knowledge in order to
guide people. In addition to this, I have also analysed that my another strength is that I am
good in communication due to my openness in behaviour.
Although this skill will help me in interacting with others and to share my thoughts and
ideas to them. In addition to this, my weakness is that my concentration skill is not good and I
do get distracted and it lead in delay in task. As a leader it is important to focus on things in
order to understand things as well as to make other people understand things. In addition to this,
I have analysed that my another weakness is that my technical skill is poor and because of
that I am not able to make use of advance tools and technique which will help in doing
advance project (Oc, 2018). Along with this, I have analysed that in order to improve or build
my personality I need to make use of PDP and action plan as it will help in analysing my
strength and weakness as well as strategy to make use of it. Moreover, in order to do effective
leadership control over emotional intelligence is also important as it will help in managing The
stress and other emotions while working. Although effective leadership require balance between
emotion and skills in order to bring out good results.
While attending the workshop and working in a team I realised that I have strong
leadership quality but I the challenges I faced was the time management skills and moderate
decision making skills. I realised that was not able to set the time line for the completion of the
specified task. Due to this I was not able to complete my work project on time as we were not
able to distribute the work effectively which resulted in consumption of time(Swart, 2019). But
I realised that I was able to lead the project buy on the other hand it took me a lot time to
distribute the responsibilities . Then I observed that having only strong leadership qualities is not
necessary but in order to succeed in the future I have work on improving my time management
skills as well. On the other hand I also realised that that was slow at making relevant decision
which can be a barrier in the situations where quick decision have to be made(Hensel, et.al,
2021). It is important for me to have effective decision making skills which will help me to take
the decisions quickly and in effective manner. In order to achieve my goals I have to focus on
evaluating the skills that is required which can be helpful in attaining my future goals and also
for personal and professional development. The Charismatic leadership Theory can be helpful in
improving my skills in the areas I want to achieve my goals . In order to gain knowledge and
achieve my goals leadership theory will help me focus on every aspect such as I have to focus on

time management skills and decision making skills that will helps me achieve my goals
effectively and due to the strong leadership skill I have I can focus on building my skills and
continuously make efforts in achieving them(Coleman, and Bourne, 2018). Leadership is
basically the ability to influence other by the behaviour. With the help of the leadership skills I
can easily recognise the skills and efficiency of the other person and assign the roles accordingly
which helps in increasing the efficiency of the organisation. I can continuously monitor my
progress and focus on regularly improving them.

According to my personal experiences I acknowledge that my biggest strength is the
communicational skills which help me in leading organization in effective as well as efficient
manner. Along with I considered this as my weakness too because the other members are having
more effective communicational skills ads compare to me. Basically he communicational skills
is the essential element for the organization because of that the people exchange their ideas and
the views in effective as well as efficient manner. I determined these skills while I was
communicating with the superior and other members of the organisation. At that time I observe
that their communication is quality smooth which is delivering the proper understanding among
the people of the employees. From the operation and the management of the organization the
communication skills should be adequate (Hargie, Dickson, and Tourish,2017). With the
communication skill it is easy to motivate and encourage other members of the organization. As
a leader the communication works as the pillar or the backbones because it helps in providing
training and development programme to the workers. Apart from that it gives assistance in
coordination and cooperating the other members of the organization in appropriate manner.
The communication make it easy to detect the problem the employees and the customer is
facing in the organisation. If I focus o my communicational skills then I can resolve the personal
as well as profession issues of the working employees in the organization. Along with I also
determine that I can manage the work on time but somewhere I suppose to improve that in order
to bring the effectiveness as compare to other performer in the organization Puscas, Kogan, and
Holmboe, 2021.). Time management skills is the most appropriate and important skill which
helps in delivering the work in the market on time which also satisfy the employees and the
customers. I am capable enough to complete the task on time but my work and leadership

required more efforts. The time management help in managing the employees and deliver them
briefing on time is very important. due to the time management the employees can improve the
productivity and profitability of the organization in effective as well as efficient manner. Due to
the assistance of the time management skills in the organization is able to bring the effectiveness
and improve the quality of the work in appropriate manner. With the management of the time I
can provide the better work life balance to the employees which increase their sanctification in
effective as well as efficient manner (Rimmer, 2019). .
Quality benefits and improvement for the future
The communication is that essential element which increase the value of the person in
appropriate manner. The communication skills will deliver huge support in the future. With the
assistance of the communicational skill I am able to resolve the problem and decrease the
chances of misunderstanding among the workers of the organisation. further this will help in
maintaining the culture of the organization in the positive manner. Moreover, I am able to
exchange my ideas and views with the other members in order to bring the creativity in the
production and profitability of the company (Johnson, and Hackman,2018) . Along with that I
can manage my personal as well as professional life in adequate manner. So in context to that it
essential to improve the communication skills due to that I can improve my knowledge, develop
the understanding and create good business relationship with the workers and the potential
supplier of the company. For the improvement I will attend online classes, will read the articles,
magazine and collect the information through the various online platforms such as google,
archaise engine optimization. Basically the better communication enhance my confidence to
deal with the large numbers of the people and the upcoming challenges in day to day life. Along
with for the area of improvement I will watch the videos on YouTube related to the speeches,
debate or the communication among the people in order to determine how the people interact
with each other effectively.
Along with the time management is also the important skill which suppose to I,prove in short
period of time. Due to the time management I will able to deliver the priority to the work which
is important. With the help of the time management skills I will acquire the advantage of growth
with the other members of the organization. Moreover, if will compete the task on the time then
I will be able to improve and enhance the values of the company in the marketplace as it bring
professionalism among the people working within the company (Sainz, Ferrero, and Ugidos,

2019). In the future due to the time management I can obtain better opportunity to accomplish
and set the personal as well as career goal in effective as well as efficient manner. In context to
that it is important to improve these skills as soon s possible. For improving these skills I will
prioritize the work and bifurcated them in different part as per the consumption of time required
in completing the task. Along with that I will try to complete the task in short period.
Moreover, I will calculate the time with the assistance of the top watch and set reminder on the
phone for the particular task in order to complete on time.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it will be concluded that the personal development of the individual
person is the essential for the survival and success in the forthcoming career path. Along with
that the leadership skills play major role in building the personality of the individual person in
effective as well as efficient manner. In context to that the individual person obtain continuous
knowledge and information in effective as well as efficient manner. Moreover, the report
highlight that the leadership, communication and time management skills is very important in
improving the quality as well as standard of life. The report mentioned that the communication
and time management skill of the individual person is good but need focus more in order to deal
