Higher education can be defined as a formal learning which occurs just after the
accomplishment of secondary education. This is also known as “third level education” or “post-
secondary education”. This is often delivered by universities, colleges, academies, seminars.
Higher education system of two countries can vary from each other (Basturkmen, 2014). U.K has
a huge variety of post secondary education opportunities which include assurance of its quality.
Their teaching style is globally famous because they encourage students to come up with new
ideas. They also offers many choices and flexibility in the courses. In contrast, tertiary education
of Australia comprises with government as well as private institutions. There are total 43
universities in Australia including public, international and private universities. They have
“tertiary education quality and standards agency” which was established to monitor quality of
education.
Thesis statement- Is college education important?
Yes, college education is important for any individual. This is because students get higher
education in this platform. They can expand and enhance their knowledge. It gives them
tremendous opportunity to get in depth learning about their favourite subjects.

context of U.K, there is a ease in getting education due to simpler learning process.

for higher education. This reinforce the entire education system of Australia. “Higher education
support act 2003” have all the information related to government funding. Higher education loan
programme (HELP) provides financial support to all the students (Jordan, 2010). The education
department of Australia is responsible for maintaining fund system, developing and managing
higher education programs and policy. On the other side, U.K universities are also government

structure of courses. They concentrate in producing variety of learning approach to meet student
