The beverage industry is developed sector and involved companies that market non-
alcoholic and alcoholic products(Davis and et.al., 2018). Growth possibilities are few compared
to existing firms, many members of the business project to diversify their offering to better
compete and gain share. This report will explain the background and CSR issues of industry.

Background and CSR issues of beverage industry
Background:
The beverage industry consists of two major categories and eight sup sections. Such as
alcoholic and non-alcoholic products. There are many beverages involving beer, wine, tea etc.
the beverage products industry viewed as an aggregate collection in highly fragmented. Those
two segments are production and distribution of not poisonous products(Salim and et.al., 2018).
Production involves processing of meats and cheese and creating of soft drink, alcoholic
beverages and packaged foods as well as other changes foods.
The industry is more centralized on technology and mechanical manipulation of raw
foods to make more value-added food products than the agricultural industry. Food has been
procedure for nearly as long it has been utilized. In past time, humans utilized to dry and smoke
meat or other food stuff in order to preserve it for longer period. Food processing importantly
remained unchanged until 19th century with the innovation of canning by Nicholas Appert and
pasteurization by Louis Pasteur.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Issues:
Increasing demand of CSR that are affected on all the sector of economy. The CSR given
its characterises the pressures exerted on organizations likely differ. There are typically
industries that challenged on their practices for sustainable development like mining and
extractive sectors that have stronger effect on environment(Weber and Hogberg-Saunders,
2018). Food and beverages organizations face fairly high risk of consumer regulations. The top
priorities of corporate social responsibility for food and beverages industry that is job and
product safety.

The UK’s deafening Food and beverages industry is set for strong future development
due to global demand for UK manufactured produce. Food and beverages exports have gone

from power to power in present years with 2016 marking first year that value of exports of food
and beverages exceed £ 20 billion. UK food and beverages manufactures currently exports, so
with UK produce in high demand there is clear development possibilities many UK
organizations. There are four major drivers of future development such as healthier food options,
enhancing research and development as well as invention, smart packaging and sustainability
and development of online shopping. With the help of it, food and beverages sectors growing
their business not only in UK but also across the world.
Ecological and social responsibility issues
The biggest responsibility for all for us is environment impact and social responsibility.
Food production system is one the largest contributors for green house emissions. In social
responsibility includes social media as well as reputation. These types of issues are creating
opportunities for food and beverages sectors.
CONCLUSION
This report has summarised that background and different corporate social responsibility
issues in food and beverages industry. It can be concluded that market size of food and beverages
