Introduction
Business law consist of various legislations, judgements given court,
treaties between nations etc. However, their main objective is to
control wrongful activities from overall nation by implementing
major norms at societal place and every individual is obliged to
follow them while living their life.

Monopolies and anti-competitive
practice legislation in UK
There are different kinds of acts or legislations which are responsible to
prevent anti- competition in United Kingdom. Such as, Competition
Act, 1998, this can be described as to an important act that regulates
illegal methods through which companies can put their efforts to
build a monopolised market.

Role of competition commission
There are various kinds of roles and responsibilities which are
mandatory to be completed by Competition commission that are
given below:

Dominant position within EU common
market
In article 82 the dominant power is examined according to which
whenever a wrong doing is carried out by a powerful enterprise at a
market place or any separate part of the same it is considered as
incompatible. It is done considering that this influences the relation
shared in between the member states of the European Union.

Applications of EU exemptions
All such agreements that restrict the competition in the European
Commission are null and void according to the Article 81 and 82 of
the Treaty of Rome. Exemptions are made in respect to individual
agreements and block exemptions for others.
