INTRODUCTION
Statistics describes the field of study of collection of data, analysis, presentation and
interpretation. Governmental requirements for census data and information about various
economic activities rendered much of the primal drive for the statistics field. The need to
transform the large amount of data currently available in many application fields into useful
information is challenging the theoretical and practical development of statistics (Burger and
et.al, 2019). The report analyses the data about the death rates, unemployment rates and the
impact of Covid-19 on United Kingdom. It illustrates the impact of Covid-19 on the economy of
United Kingdom.
MAIN BODY
Task 1
The impact of Covid-19 on UK
Covid-19 is described as the most impactful and dangerous pandemic in world history.
As a result, the UK is facing many consequences, including rising mortality, scarcity of medical
resources and economic decline. The total number of deaths due to Covid 19 is 10,198, a 7.4%
increase compared to the last five years of data. Due to this situation, they are facing a domestic
lockdown situation. While struggling with the lockdown, there is also the risk of a new Covid
variant in the country. National mortality rates can be analysed using the chart attached below
the report. In March 2020, the UK recorded a total of 1918 deaths in the country (RamÃrez-Rueda
and et.al, 2021). The following month saw an increase, with the death toll surpassing 33,000.
Because of this, the whole country is panicking and suffering from such a situation. After that,
the number of deaths increases, but after a while it decreases. This is due to the lockdown
situation imposed by the government itself. It rose again in November 2020, and with the
government lifting some restrictions and people moving out of their homes, the death rate started
rising again (Huang and et.al, 2022). The situation in this country can be explained using the
graph below.

The impact of Covid-19 on healthcare in UK
Due to Covid 19, the UK government is facing a number of health issues. This is due to
the continued increase in Covid cases in the country. There is a shortage of medicines, hospital
beds, oxygen cylinders and medical equipment. As a result, people cannot receive appropriate
medical treatment, resulting in the loss of precious lives. People in the UK have been unable to
use their medical resources adequately, resulting in a number of problems, including a steady rise
in deaths and cases. People with other illnesses are also affected by Covid cases (Mohamadi
Zenouzagh, 2019).
The impact of Covid-19 on the unemployment of UK
Employment is regarded to be the most important factor in any country's economy. It can
slightly increase the population of a country. A country can easily improve its functions and its
resources if its people are employed. A country can suffer if unemployment increases within the
country (Morze and Buinytska, 2019). It can also reduce the national income of the country and
increase poverty. Unemployment is the best-known impediment to economic growth. All of
these situations are faced by the UK. Many people in the UK are out of work during Covid. In
January 2020, the total number of unemployed was 9.43 million, hitting the country hard. The
number of unemployed people will then fall, but the rate will be so low that the UK economy
will not be able to maintain its position in the global market. The main reason for the increase in

number of unemployed people will then fall, but the rate will be so low that the UK economy
will not be able to maintain its position in the global market. The main reason for the increase in

unemployment is the shutdown of industries. Industries are closed due to government-imposed
lockdowns. Because of this, industry owners are unable to pay salaries and wages to their
employees and are starting to fire them from their factories and industries in order to survive in
the market in the long term (Myovella, Karacuka and Haucap, 2020).
