This report presents a quantitative analysis of crime perception in the UK, focusing on the influence of gender and age. The study investigates changes in crime level perceptions, vandalism incidence across different age groups, the relationship between confidence in the Criminal Justice System (CJS) and trust in the police, and the correlation between age and the number of children under 12. The research utilizes data from the Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) and employs statistical methods such as t-tests, ANOVA, and cross-tabulation to examine these relationships. Key findings include significant differences in crime level perceptions between males and females, variations in vandalism experiences among age groups, and a strong association between confidence in the CJS and police trust, particularly among males. The report offers insights into how demographic factors shape public views on crime and the justice system, contributing to a deeper understanding of societal perceptions and their implications.
