Title of Proposal, Research question-
Research question- To discuss the significance of cybercrime legislation and its role in
maintaining successful law and order. A study on the UK.
Research aims-
● To determine the concept of cybercrime.
● To evaluate the significance of the cybercrime legislation in the present scenario.
● To examine whether the present laws on cybercrime are adequate or not.
Literature Review
Cybercrime is a crime that is done on online platforms by different hackers. These
hackers mainly hack the important data of the organizations and the individuals which results in
the misuse of the data. These organizations beas a lot of loss because of this hacking. This is
because the important information is hacked which is essential for the authenticity of the
company. Sometimes, there are cases where the bank accounts are hacked which results in
huge loss to the individuals whose bank account is being hacked. An article by ebay Joe Tidy in
2021 tells about the increase in cyber crime all over the world(Kemp, etal, 2021). It explains that
the FBI has tried to seize the account of Tom Robinson who is the founder and the chief
scientist of Elliptic, that analyzes Bitcoin payments. He further explains that the BBC seizure
may have come about because the hackers were trying to exchange its Bitcoin in the form of
traditional currency. He further stated that it's likely that investigators were capable of tracing the
cryptocurrency to form an exchange platform in which the launderers would have delivered the
funds for ordering the cash out. Moreover, the exchanges are regulated by the big businesses.
Moreover, they could seize their customers' funds if forced to do so by law enforcement by the
adequate authorities of the organization.
As per the view of James Torris, the North Korean hacking activity is often connected to
the so-called Lazarus Group of hackers that has been accused of taking $1bn from a
Bangladesh bank in 2016. Furthermore, in the last year, the group was linked to lucrative
attacks on cryptocurrency platforms. On the other hand, last month the US cyber-authorities
issued a warning about North Korean hackers delivering ransomware attacks against hospitals
in the United States.
According to Paul O'Hare, an article was published which stated that Louise Money was at the
age of 12 years when she discovered the concept and method of hacking. This happened when
she was browsing the internet with her first computer. Moreover, more than two decades later
she now dreams of creating a living from it thanks to a pioneering a new course which is
designed to reduce the hurdles because of gender discrimination. Moreover, Ms Money is one of
77 women that signed up for the free programme that is based at Glasgow Caledonian University

As per the view on NHS warns of scam Covid-test texts by Chris Vallance it stated that the NHS
is warning about the widespread scam text messages by explaining the recipients who have been
in close contact with the Covid case. Further it is discussed about the fake NHS text messages
that ordered Omicron Covid-19 test kits that were being tweeted on the tweeter. Moreover, as per
the views of Silsa Mary, an IT technician was being sent to prison for taking revenge on the
cyber-attacks on the basis of school along with an IT firm when both of the employers sacked
him.
Moreover, the Adam Georgeson's hack on Welland Park Academy in Leicestershire resulted
some pupils to lose coursework and parents losing irreplaceable family media pictures. Further
more, it also stopped remote learning for the four days, when pupils has been reliant on this
because of the coronavirus lockdown. There after, the Judge Mark Watson gave Georgeson
whose age is 29 sentence of twenty one months.
Methodology-
The methodology is the method that is being used by the researcher in order to do the
research in the given subject area. There are generally two types of methods that is being used by
the researcher. These are the qualitative and the quantitative method. These methods are being
used to analyze the data of the research. Moreover, the qualitative data is basically based on the
non numerical basis. These basis are used to evaluate the data. The qualitative data would
include the perception of the people by the interviews being taken by the researcher. On the other
hand, the quantitative method of research is basically based on the data. These includes the
surveys that, questionnaire that is being done by the researcher in order to complete the research
in the relevant time period. It gives about the adequate information of the present scenario of eth
market. The researcher in this research will be using the qualitative method of doing the
research(Schreuders, et.al, 2018).
Ethics in research-
The term ethics can be define as the key principles that has to followed by the
researcher while doing the research in order to make teh research authentic while presenting it
to the public. These ethical principles are very essential for the research point of view because it
makes the research accountable to the researcher. The ethical principles includes the
confidentiality, legality, integrity, honesty, openness, etc. All these ethical principles is being
used in this research by the researcher. These principles will provide the basis basis for the
research to the researcher on the topic of cyber crime and its related laws in UK(Nouh,
et.al,2019).
