INTRODUCTION
Criminology is defined as the scientific study related to crime which includes it's causes
and outcomes. It is necessary because it mainly tells that what are the main reason that individual
have committed the crime (Definition of Criminology, 2018). This report will related be based
upon UK criminology and death penalty and what are its advantages and disadvantages. There
will be analysing and evaluating the arguments and in section B there will be the construction of
arguments.
SECTION A: Analysing & Evaluating Arguments
Identifying the structure and evaluate the logic of an argument
The given structure is all about the death penalty in UK. It is the capital punishment
which can be given in any of the country. It is fund that Great Britain have remove the death
penalty from their nation but it has created lots of problem for them because it has significantly
increased the rate of crime within the territory of UK (DeKeseredy and Dragiewicz, 2018). The
problem behind this is that people have developed that if they have to go in jail then also they
can come out of it. It has been found that the person who has been realised from the jail tries to
attempt new crime within the time period of 1 year due to which fear among the local people of
UK has been increasing. The argument is all about that United Kingdom must re-introduce the
death penalty so that solution fear can be created in the mind of criminal person. Some of the
strength and weaknesses of reintroducing the death penalty are listed below:
Strengths
Everything has its own benefits and among them reintroducing the death penalty have
various of them. Firstly, it will reduce the overall cost on the person who are in prison because it
cost near around 65,000 per annum on single criminal person. It will help to reduce the rate of
criminal activity. Also, it will not allow anyone to commit heinous crime (Wortley and
Townsley, 2016).
Weaknesses
It is not necessary that every time the decision which is declared by Ministry of Justice
will be fair because sometime there are lack of evidences due to which decision can be wrong
also. The main weakness of this Capital punishment is that it might result to punishing the person

who has not committed the crime. Even it can be said that rights of human are not provided to
them in this situation (Newbold, 2017).
SECTION B: Constructing Argument
Present the argument that whether Capital punishment should be reintroduced or not, Reflect the
necessary points on arguments.
In my point of view United Kingdom should reintroduce the death penalty because there
are many of the cases where it is found that criminal person should not be given additional
chance but there is no law where such kind of action can be taken. It is necessary because it will
not allow any person to commit those crime in which they have to loose there own life. Even
past records also shows that crime rate was very rare in the boundary of UK but once the law
was omitted by Parliament House, it has increased the problem of nation because crime rate has
increased significantly. There are most of the countries in Europe who have removed the death
penalty but they have the alternate of that where people do get harsh punishment for such kind of
activities but it is lacking in Great Britain.
I think if UK will reintroduce the concept of Capital Punishment then they can easily
reduce the percentage of crime. Even the person who had already committed the harsh nature of
crime will not get the option to come out of the jail through which they will not get the another
opportunity to repeat the same nature of crime. Although, capital punishment will not allow the
person to enjoy there rights and freedom and because of this the concept can be generated, that
involving in criminal activities will take their rights back. If death penalty can be reintroduced
then it will clear the mind set that what people do will get back which will not allow them to do
such activities which can involve there own life in risk. It is found that keeping the person in jail
for longer period of time consumes unnecessary expenses but if capital punishment will
introduced then it can also be controlled. It is seen that if any person does the crime which can
create fear in the mind of society then there is more possibility that people will not work as per
there willingness so it is also one of the main reason that capital punishment should be
reintroduced. While talking about recent data information there has been the problem in
maintaining peace and safety and the reason is simple that legislation is not harsh for those
crime which create unnecessary issues within the boundary of UK.

In short, I believe UK must think that how they can change their rules and regulation
where they must try to bring back all those laws and policies through which death penalty can be
given. Even there are chances that death penalty can end those issues through which crime are
being conducted on regular basis. Although, mistakes is possible in everyone's life but it is
necessary to understand that no one have the right to spoil the life of other person.
CONCLUSION
It is to be concluded from the file that criminology is one of those essential topic which
gives the knowledge that what are the reason that person has committed the crime and what can
be the best punishment for the crime which people have done or attempted. Although, death
penalty had been remove the Parliament of UK but still there are some of the situation where it is
necessary so which means it must be brought back in regular use.
