This report investigates the satisfaction of British citizens with the present state of the economy, utilizing data from the European Social Survey (ESS) round 8 in 2016. The study focuses on the impact of the standard of living for the unemployed and opinions on government intervention in income disparity on overall economic satisfaction. Through descriptive and inferential analyses, including Spearman's rank correlation and linear regression modeling, the research reveals a positive and significant relationship between these predictors and satisfaction with the economy. The findings suggest that improved living standards for the unemployed and perceived government efforts to reduce income inequality are associated with higher levels of satisfaction with the economic conditions in the United Kingdom.
