INTRODUCTION
Topic of this study is investigation into employment and the issues affecting female workers in
the UK. Researcher is interested in this topic because it has been found that despite of same
level of working also women are paid less when compared with male. This research can help
spreading awareness in regards of less employment option for women (Heise and et.al., 2019).
Qualitative method will be used to conduct this research.
Aims of research
To identify understanding of the concept of poorer career option in women.
To analyse the reasons of low employment in women.
To evaluate the issues affecting female workers in UK.
MAIN BODY
Background research
Concept of poorer career option in women.
As per the The gender gap in employment: What's holding women back. (2017) said that around
the globe it has become tougher for female when compared with male. For those women which
are already employed are working in low quality working conditions and it cannot be said that
the situation will get improved in the near future. Around the globe it has been noticed that the
employment rate of women is about 49% and for men it is 75%. So it can be seen that the
employment difference is 26% and in some case the difference have extended to 50%. Prather
and et.al., (2018) discussed that Women who are actually willing to work is struggling in finding
jobs especially women of Africa and gulf countries. In some of the countries like India women
are entitled with household work only and that are not providing enough job opportunities so that
they can build their identities. Right of work is the right of everyone whether it is male or female
everyone has given equal right to work.
Reasons of low employment in women
The gender gap in employment: What's holding women back. (2017) said that there are many
reasons of the low employment in the women. One of the most known reason as also prevail in
various developing or under developed countries which is social norm. as per the various society
norms women are not considered good when they work outside. As women need to care of their
house and children so that is why they are not allowed to work outside. It can be seen that
women are constantly sacrificing on education opportunities, wages, career etc. women have

responsibilities oof their family so for that they need to sacrifice their career. Krueger (2017)
conveyed that it has been observed that there are some families which are not allowing their
female members to take educational qualification and because of that women are not getting
enough working opportunities.
Issues affecting female workers in UK
According to the views of Atchison and et.al., (2020) the major factor which is affecting female
workers of UK is differences in the pay gap of women. It can be said that women are paid very
less than men. If the women is doing same work as the men are doing but still they are paid very
less. It is old saying that women are not enough strong as men are so they do not carry work
effectively as men does. Author discussed that harassment at workplace is also affecting female
workers in UK. It is noted that women have become the victim of harassment and due to which
they has to leave their workplace. Children are also the reason of women leaving their job. As
women needs to take care of children so that is why they need to drop their job.
The methods which is used in this research is the qualitative research. Qualitative
research is easy to perform and with the help of this research type research can be conducted in
more deep which means that research topic knowledge can be enhanced with this research type.
When compared with the quantitative research then qualitative research is more expensive
because quantitative research required participants. qualitative research is the flexible research
and also there is no need to take interview of anyone (Chetty and et.al., 2018). One of the biggest
disadvantage is that it do not helps to find out that how many people have given same answer or
not. So that is why it is difficult to make valid statistics with the help of technique. As this
research omit audience so that is why it does not give broad findings. The current research which
is based on women employment and carer opportunities do not have proper statistics which
shows that how many women are not working and also the reasons of their non working.
Although research has followed ethical guidelines but also at some point it has lacks ethics. It
has seen that this research is not well planned because it has missed various deadlines. Voluntary
participation is also seen less in this research. It should have not happen because without
effective participation researcher will not able to achieve their objectives.
