Introduction
The legal system is known as the institution, rules and procedures which is imposed by the
government and due to which private endeavours and public initiatives are carried out in an
legitimate. It is known as the system of enforcing and interpreting the legal laws. This system
elaborates the responsibilities and the rights in certain ways. Legal system is important in
each country for maintaining an order with society. It is also important in different businesses
as it involves critical thinking skills, legal reasoning and ethical normality. The main need of
legal system is that they protect the right of people and in the world no body has the
exception for breaking any of the law. This helps in developing the business in an effective
manner by balancing the functions of the organisation. This report contains three parts which
had deal with an different perspective of business law. In the first part of the report there are
the various legal system of UK in context with the laws which are indulged in it. In these two
main laws has been described that are criminal and civil law. In second part various sources
of laws had been described and in the third part employee law has been explained with
various concepts included.

Define laws and identify the respective legal system in UK
Laws are known as the set of rules which is formed is an effective manner to develop a better
structure which helps in resolving issues that has impacted an individual or in an public.
These are consisting with the rules and policies which governs the country or a society
legally. These laws are differentiated with the different countries and exists within the
country. These laws also impose some responsibilities which helps in developing a proper
structure if legal system in any particular country(Veithzal, Fawzi, and Vithzal, 2021). These
laws and legal system are developed in order to make legal sanction in context with the social
welfare and public and these makes the government fulfil the goals of welfare in different
states. Law has an vital scope while managing society of an country. The legal system and the
laws are based on various principles, and which has been imposed in an country from a long
period of time. There are three main laws which comes under legal system Judiciary,
legislative and executive and they work separate without interfering in each other
departments(Anagnostopoulou, 2018). These laws have been developed by the help of doctrine
separation of power. These laws are used in order to control both civil and criminal activities
as these practices can harm the society and legal structure. The laws can also uplift the legal
integrity which is present in each country. These are the laws which focuses on the ethical
patterns and behavioural patterns which is followed by people as these patterns impacts
environment. There are various laws which are differentiated according to the activities
which is impacting the society or an legal structure.
The legal structure of United Kingdom is made in an efficient and effective manner. These
laws are made by passing an legislation in which a proper structure is designed to do it in an
more effective form(Armour, and Sako, 2020). In UK there are many common laws which are
made to create an diversity under an law formation. The UK have not any written constitution
but is mainly made in four segments that is works of authority, common law, conventions and
statute law. In all of this statute law is considered as the important and also takes precedence
and it is passed by parliament. As parliament decides all the law making authorities. Some
principles are also decided by the judges these collective decisions of judicial forms an
common law in UK. In UK these three jurisdictions had developed its own laws. The last
element of UK constitution is work of authority which do not possesses any binding forces.

There are mainly two major laws which are based in English legal systems are described
below.
Civil Law
This is known as the rules and policies which protects the personal and private rights of an
individual. This law also offers the legal remedies which can be used in resolving the
conflicts and it also covers family, torts, contracts and property law of areas. There are many
aspects which is considered in order to deal several general clauses which can make change
in an organisation as these laws individually focuses upon the needs and requirement of an
employee in the organisation(Santoso, 2021). This also deals with the issues which is faced

due to any conflict or property issue. In this any individual in the organisation has the right to
speak up for there right and can stand against any issues.
Example: There was the case happened in 1995 between one lady and McDonald’s as once
an old lady ordered an coffee and demanded extra cream in her coffee inadvertently the
coffee spilled on her lap and got a deep burn and required skin graft and surgeries
(Business,2022). So, she filed a complaint against McDonald’s under the law for the injuries.
When this case went to jury it has been stated that the coffee was too hot to handle, and that
lady also has 20% of fault of her injuries and it is constituted as a breach of an implied
warranty.
Criminal Law
Criminal law is the rules and the actual laws which acts on the conducted crimes in the
society or in an organisation and gives punishment according to the crime type. These are the
acts which is done to threaten safety of public or public welfare. Crime is considered as an
omission which violated the law of an country. These laws and there punishments varies from
country to country(Simbolon, 2019). There are basically two elements of criminal act either the
act is occurred, or the act was done purposely. If an act is done on purpose, then are
recklessly against the law. These are considered as the important part in English legal system.
The major acts which is included in this are theft, murder, extortion or sexual assault.
Example: There are the companies which become an huge example of criminal law as in
desire of earning maximum profit and economic gain they had started doing smuggling,
money laundering, drug trafficking, gambling etc (Business,2022). this company has started
this unlawful activities by themselves and also by the use of internet in order to expand their
business globally. They are under the law of Transnational organised crime and government
said it an offence and charged under an criminal offence and act which are against the social
welfare.
Explain the role of the following courts in the English Legal
system.
High court: High court is known as the third highest court in UK. This court deals with a
civil appeals and cases whose decisions are made in the lower courts(Mayer, 2018). In high
court cases are heard by a single judge and involves different types of hearings. Sometimes in
few cases it also involves he jury in the cases of fraud, defamation, malicious prosecution and
false imprisonment. They are also responsible for the development of legal structure in an
country by formulating decisions of criminal and civil cases in UK. This court is important
for the fair decision making and for the rights of any individual or of any organisation.
Supreme court: This court of UK is known as the final court for appealing in UK for any
criminal or civil case. This also see the cases of public which can also affect the constitution
system of the country. In this judges’ knowns about the rights of individual and the society to
deal with an biggest issues related to legal(Mba, 2019). They are known as the balance and
check of UK constitution and laws. This court has the responsibility of principles which helps

in procuring justice. In this court legal system is protected effectively and it also protects the
fundamental rights and the constitutional framework of the country.

Explain case law as the source of law
Case laws describes the laws which comes from the decisions which are made by the judges
in cases which were solved previously. This law is also known as the term common law as it
provides the same background with similar legal structure(Bowie, 2020). This law is deriving
to shape countries rules and regulations which is easily anticipated by any legal issues or
situation. Case law is considered as the most vital and important source of legal structure and
also applied on rare cases. This is also used in the issues which is can not resolve by the
normal legislation. This has its own importance in UK legal structure to manage their rules
and principles which are imposed by the government of company.
Explain the process of making legislation
Legislation is known as the law which is made by legislature which is an parliament.
Legislation is also known as statute law as it formulates new legislation and amends and
reviews them in the parliament(Giubboni, 2018). There is various step which is involved in
making an legislation as it begins with the bill of congress and should be done by an staff
member who can write the bill after that the bill is referred to the committee and in this step it
is either accepted or rejected. After that bill is reported to an senate and then it is structure by
each member who is involved after that they vote for it and differentiate the bill and pass it to
the president then after 10 day the bill gets passed and an action is being taken and can
applied to the legal system of UK. These legislations are created who had make the legal
structure and system of UK(Beatty, Samuelson, and Abril, 2021). In an organisation it is
important to known about the legal framework for doing right practices in an company.
Provide meaning and examples of delegated legislation
Delegated legislations allow the bodies which are below the parliament in order to pass their
own individual legislation. There are mainly three forms of delegated legislation which is
important to be considered that are statutory instrument, order in council and by laws. The
statutory instrument is contrasted by government of UK(Wevers, 2021). This legislation is
known for quick decision making as parliament take a lot of time as compared to this
legislation. This is mainly controlled by the judiciary and this stand for the society rights.
This usually gives the power to sub authority. This will be more convenient with an example
as law makes the authority can transfers their individual roles to their sun authority which
helps in making the laws more efficiently.

Employment Law
Employment law is known as the law which covers and governs the area related to employees
and their relations. An organisation uses these laws for the better efficiency in the business.
This law is made up of federal and state laws which involves four factors that are this law

employees of the firm. This law also provides economic support at the level required by the
company. It also resolves and prevents work disruption in an organisation and the disputed in
between the management and the team members in an organisation. This is done with an
employee right act and focus on the employee satisfaction in an organisation.

This report has concluded that business laws are important for managing organisational
management and society welfare it also provides rights to an individual and allows them
justice. This report has also concluded the legal systems in UK. This report also tells the use
of courts in an excessive situation. The two courts which is mentioned are supreme and high
court. This report also involved case law, civil law and criminal law with an example. It also
involves the process of legislation and how delegated legislation affected the organisation.
This report has also concluded that employment law is important in the organisation for
