1. Introduction
The purpose of the project is to identify the suicide rate of males and females facing
mental health problem in UK. The group is interested in knowing the aspects related to
people understanding the mental health of both the males and females with the help of
data analysis and collecting the statistics (Gordon, 2020, 115. p). This topic is important
to analyse the concerns regarding and identifying the rate of suicide and deaths which are
being attempted by males and females in particularly males and females. This topic is
important to reduce the rate and situation of mental health problem which is being
identified in UK. The group carried out the project so that proper information and data is
being carried out in the project.

2. Methodology
The data is being analysed with the help of using quantitative data in which the
data is covered with the help of descriptive statistics in appropriate manner. The data was
collected by using different calculations and by using the statistics which are related to
the topic ( Rinjit, 2020, p. 22). The aims and objectives were prepared and analysed on
the basis of the topic which was chosen and this helped in analysing and gathering the
information for the project. The aims and objectives were analysed through quantitative
data. The results gathered from the analysis were definite and precise. It was concluded
from the results that all the information was collected in specific manner with the data
which was gathered.
Data Collection
It can be explained as a process that helps the researcher in collection of the data
associated with the study. There are mainly two major types of data collection methods,
namely primary and secondary research method. The present research involves data
collection using secondary method (Zangirolami-Raimundo, Echeimberg and Leone,
2018, 28(3). pp). Various books, journals and websites that provides the data relevant to
the study has been used in order to gather the data. Also, descriptive statistics in relation
to the mental health illness among the general public has also been taken. This has helped
the researcher in effectively analysing and examining the gathered information.
Data Preparation
Data understanding is defined as accessing the data and exploring it by using the
graphics and tables and they are organized with the help of Excel which is used within
this project (Säfsten and Gustavsson, 2020, p. 22). Data cleaning process is done in the
manner which is signified as – removing the irrelevant and insignificant data, fixing the
structural errors, filtering the unwanted data, handling the missing data, validating the

data. There are four major steps in data pre-processing and this helps in indicating the
stages as – data quality assessment, data cleaning, data transformation, data reduction etc.
This is the process which is suitable for the project and is identified in the data analysis
process.
Data analysis
It is a technique that is used by the research scholar for the purpose of interpreting
the data and make relevant observations and conclusion. The data analysis techniques can
majorly be divided into 3 types which includes thematic perception test technique, SPSS
and quantitative analysis (Pandey and Pandey, 2021, p.43). Since, the present study is
based on the data that is in the numerical format, the quantitative analysis has been used
for the purpose of examining and interpreting the data. In this method, the research has
used the data associated with the mental health in United Kingdom for the purpose of
conducting the study.

The data which is explained above helps in analysing the concerns regarding the
mental health of both male and female in UK. There is different formulas and calculations
which are based on understanding the different rate of suicide attempted by male and
female in UK due to adverse mental health conditions. It has been identified from the
above data that the average of males is calculated as 15.74. The average of the suicide
rate of female is less than the males which is 4.76. The median which is calculated is
measured as 15.7 of males and the female rate of the suicide in UK due to poor mental
health is competitively low which is 4.75 (Iacobucci, 2020, p.11). The mode which has
been calculated for analysing the data related to suicide being attempted by males and
females is noted of both male and female among which male is 15.4 and mode is 4.4.
Along with this the standard deviation which has been identified and calculated is defined
and measured for both the males and females which is helping to create value for the data
being driven and calculated and of males and females is calculated as - 0.73212 and
0.295146. This denotes that the females are less inclined towards attempting suicide and
this helps in knowing that the males of UK are falling into attempting suicide. The
minimum and maximum rates of people attempting suicide due to poor mental health in
UK is being evaluated as addressing the key concerns related to increase in the rate of
attempting suicide in UK. The minimum rate of males attempting suicide due to poor
mental health is noted as – 14.4. The female rate is being noted as – 4.4 which is
competitively less then male. The maximum rate of males which is being calculated is –
16. 9 and of females it is noted as – 5.3 (Appleby and et.al., 2019, p. 366).

It has been identified from the above data that there is higher rate of males
attempting suicide due to poor mental health and this helps in knowing that there are
aspects related to knowing and understanding that there have been aspects which enable
the data being calculated in definite and appropriate manner. The above data have been
calculated for last 10 years and this denotes that there has been significant increase in the
year 2019 and this helps in understanding the concerns related to suicide rate as compared
to other years in significant manner. There has been a sudden decrease in the rate of
suicides being attempted in the year 2020. Therefore, the major concern is related to rate
of suicides being attempted due to both the genders facing the problem of mental health
being analyzed and identified in the manner related to solving the problem in UK.

On the basis of the results calculated using the regression analysis, it has been identified
that the value of the significance F is calculated as. 0.662151 which is higher than the
standard value of 0.05. Since, the value of significance F is higher than the 0.05, this
means that the null hypothesis, i.e., H0 will be accepted which represents that there is no
statistical significance between the age of a person and its mental health ill being (Bould,
and et.al, 2019, 394(10193). pp). It can be stated that depression and mental health has
nothing to do with the age of an individual as it has been observed that mental health
illness of different sorts have been found in individuals belonging to different age groups
irrespective of their age, or gender.
However, it has been observed that the death rates of females due to the mental
health illness is lower than the death rate of men associated with the issue of mental
health. Another major finding that has been determined by making use of the data is that

majority of suicides were attempted by individuals falling under the category of teenagers
as compared to the old age people. However, there are times, when it has been found
within certain research that age has its role in affecting the mental health of certain
people. It has been found in studies that as a person ages, there are times when their
hormonal changes increases the impact of an incident on their individual lives (Devitt,
2020, 37(4). pp). The incidents such as loss of friends, loss of family, children leaving
their home for their further studies can have negative impact of the minds of the older
generation and can affect their mental health negatively. Also, it has been observed that
anxiety and mental health illness can be more chronic and difficult to overcome for the
people falling in the old age groups and it can lead to the development of poor health
conditions within the people. The mental health in the older generation can also be a
cause of obesity, loss of appetite and low energy levels in the individuals.
Conclusion
From the research, it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship
between the age of a person and their mental health. The present study includes a brief
statistical analysis of the data of collected in relation to the mental health illness of people
within the UK. It has been determined that majority of death cases due to the mental
health illness in UK were high in males as compared to the females and also higher in
teenage population as compared to the older generation.
3. Project Management
The data analysis was managed in significant manner and this helped in creating
and understanding the basis as to how the project is being undertaken with the
quantitative data at large scale. I planned and managed the work by using step by step
analysis and ensuring that the information which is included in the project is accurate and
correct. The work within this project was managed significantly and in effective manner
at large scale. I had also collected the data by using the excel sheets which helped in
knowing and understanding it for the topic (Guo and Zhang, 2022, 139. p).

Project Collaboration
The meeting within the group is done when all the team members are present and
are contributing to successfully make this project. I work productively with the group
with the positive attitude and this concerns the results which is being analysed for
gathering all the information. I also motivate the other members in the group so that we
are able to work together in effective manner ( Hair and Sarstedt, 2021, 52(4). pp).
Learning reflection
The identified challenge which has been identified in the project is that the mental
health of the people concerning both males and females is comparatively high of males
regarding the rate of females in England and Wales. There has been the major challenge
which has been identified. The learning outcomes have been achieved which helps in
stating the concerns related to achieving the aim and objectives related to the project
