Introduction
The small and medium enterprise (SMEs) can be considered as an area of market which is
playing a significant role relating to economy of the UK. Impact on the market is prevailing for
fifty years relating to SMEs. In the context of working it was seen that the area of development
was not homogeneous during the period. The research project which is focused is prevailing in
the perspective of “The trend of small and medium enterprises in the UK since 2009”. The
impact of the sector and working area which is indicated in the area are majorly included in
research area.

Literature review
Economic development
As stated by Love et al., (2016) path which is linked to economic development in UK was not an
easy path. It directly involved different types of barriers which mainly included domain of
economic constraints and development problem. During the tenure of 2009, it was seen that large
organisation trend to include different forms of advantage which directed competitiveness and
innovation gain area. Hence fourth after the factor, there was implementation of strategy and
policies so that development constraints which were included in the sector would be sustainable.
According to Cowling, (2016) there was a period in which there was a considerable amount of
decrease in level of share diminishing, but on the other, working of the SMEs was alive, and then
a renewed interest was included into the sector gaining of competitive advantage with working in
various domain of customer satisfaction.
Factor of growth
Narooz and Child, (2017), stated that factor of growth which was involved in SMEs was due to
the factor that they tend to include profit areas and growth with help them in different forms of
mergers and not from internal growth. In this discussion, small firms directly involved more
areas of innovation than it was expected and were basic parameter relating to indulgence of the
sector of employment. There are different factor which was included by Rostami, (2016), which
impacted the segment of working of most of SME which are stated below:
 Enterprise culture of reassertion
 Outsourcing increase

 Vertical disintegration relating to enterprise
 Subcontracting
 Privatisation
Each factors which is stated above can be considered to be very much crucial in the domain of
working of the SME. Working of the SME is always aligned to the need and demand of
customers so that there is no problem seen in the indulgence factor of organisation. In most of
the cases, SME tend to get innovation from the different SME so that they can alter the internal
working which would be helping them to gain different forms of competitive advantage from
various sector of working. As considered by Mac et al., (2016), most of the SME tend to
outsource their product so that quality or the service which is seen in most of the cases are
enhanced. In UK most of the areas which are included in the working area are linked to various
standard of execution of different task in a manner which would be adopted by most customers.
Segmentation of the market and reaching right group of members can be considered to be very
much crucial which can alter success factor which is linked to SMEs.
Enhancement of operation for SMEs
The focus in the domain would be enhancing of the working of SMEs which would be directly
beneficial for working, and constraint would be directly sustainable. Factor of sustainability as
stated by Mawson and Brown, (2017) was very much crucial so that future planning and
implementation can be done properly.. Engaging area in any of the business sector can be
considered to be very much crucial which can enhance different sector of working of which
reflects the area of competitive advantage. Factor of creating an area of interaction and
communication was easily created by the SMEs of the UK which was very much beneficial.

Customer satisfaction was one of the factors which helps the SMEs to gather optimal competitive
advantage without any issue being encountered. Gathering of customer demand was crucial as
this help in planning and how the need and demand of various customers would be focused.
Methodology
The methodology which was used in the sector of research was the secondary research, though
primary research and analysis is the most feasible technique for conducting market research and
reaching to effective conclusions. Main reason or justification which was stated in the context of
choice was that there were different types of advantage which can be included in the SME
working system. There are different areas of indulgence which can be considered in the domain
of the research which is undertaken. Secondary data analysis covers different research areas
which are concluded which directly help in the perspective of a gathering of knowledge of
different working areas.
Data collection
There are different online papers and articles which are focused in research context. Identifying
the factor of sustainability in the domain of exercising the research area can be considered to be
very much crucial. In the context of secondary research, it can be considered that various
different elements which are involved in the working perspective can be considered to be playing
an important role so that overall scenario which is prevailing in the SME sector can be focused
(Lam et al., 2017). Deep knowledge gain can be a stagnant parameter which can be included in
optimal segment of operation.
Approach

The approach which is used in the research is the deductive approach. There is a huge need for
employment in UK which is prevailing and helping SMEs in recent times as well in the past few
years. Since tenure of 2009, it can be considered that employment is one of the domains which is
significant in playing a crucial sector. The working perspective of the SME can be easily be
understood with the help of secondary data analysis.
Research design
On the other hand, it can be considered that secondary data analyses can be beneficial in a
manner which would be directly helping in the domain of covering various areas which are not
covered. This concept can be beneficial in a manner which helps in the domain of concentrating
on different parts of research which are uncovered which would be increasing the effectiveness
of the research.

The data which is achieved from secondary analysis can be considered to be important which
directly involve importance of the SME in segment of working.

From the above chart, it can be considered that the rate of a share of SME in the level of
employment is quite high. It can be considered to be employed is one of the areas which indicate
economic level of a country. In this context, UK people tend to get a huge involvement in the
different SME which would be directly impacting economic level of the country. In past few
years, technology enhancement is one other factors which can be engaged with the sector of
employment level. Employee retention can also be one of the points which can be considered to
be crucial.

The share of SME in context of working can be considered to be very much important which
enhances market scenario. It can be considered here that most organisation which are based in
the UK are dominated with SME which helps in the factor of economic sustainability factor.

The evaluation which is stated here can be considered be indicating that there is a wide increase
in number of SME since 2009. This has directly helped in interaction level of the organisation
and most of the cases has helped in the domain of engaging technology so that the final output
which is generated can be enhanced. In most of the areas, it can be considered that technology
enhancement can be one factors which prevails in the sector of engaging more employees which
would be affecting unemployment level of the UK since 2009.
Findings
Theme 1: Importance of share of SME in term of level of employment.
Employment level can be one factors which indicates economic condition of a country. Since
proper invention of the concept of SME in the year 2009 and implementation of different
policies which involves effectiveness in the working. The employment level has directly
increased. People in recent times are more engaged in sector of working which directly impacts
convergence areas which is linked to the domain of execution of different task which is linked to
SME. Outsourcing can be one of the factors which impacts sustainability factor, but it can be
effective in generation of employee engagement which impact overall sphere of working of
different SMEs.
Theme 2: Share of SME in terms of annual turnover.
The working of the SME, sphere of annual turnover plays a significant role. Since is due to the
factor that SMEs majorly depend on different areas of collaboration with other organisation.
Working in a collaborative manner helps in the economic stability which impacts overall factor
of sustainability factor. Annual turnover impact was majorly seen form 2009 after
implementation of different policies which engaged sector of communication in the domain. Rate

can be considered to be increasing with intent of different type of technological implementation
which reduces complexity level and engages quality service and product in the manner of
execution.
Theme 3: Evaluation of a number of businesses in SME.
The indulgence factor can be considered to be playing a significant role in working areas that are
covered by SMEs. Most of the business tends to follow a trend of the SME so that they can gain
different forms of competitive advantage in the domain of working. SME policies and working
procedures have directly impacted growth of the indulgence sector which shortly can be
considered to engaging more business bodies. Growth rate is very much sustainable which
include proper engagement areas in each of the working domain (Lam et al,, 2017). Factor of
undesirable output is minimised in the domain of SME due to different factor it directly includes
the execution of the different working areas.
Reflection
I have seen from the research area and topic that SME indulgence factor is very much crucial for
not only the UK but for every country. Main point of attraction which plays a significant role
according to me is the engagement of employees in the sector. Working manners which is
included in the sector is very much aligned with the requirement of the customers so the factor of
sustainability can be easily be implemented in the domain. In the UK since the tenure of 2009, I
have seen that SME collaboration with other organisation is crucial which impact the economies
level of the country. According to me shortly the amount of SME would be increasing, and the
engagement of the policies in the sector would be making the working way easier which any
organisation can easily indulge.

Conclusion
It can be effectively concluded from this research that SMEs play a significant role in the
economic development of UK. With the passage of time, owing to the rise in the interest of the
youth to engage in business activities, the number of startups in UK has significantly risen in
recent times and continues to rise even more; this states the fact that within the next decade, the
SMEs will contribute significantly to the economy of the nation. Main area of coverage which
can be seen is decrease in the level of unemployment and collaboration with various
organizations. Forming an effective collaboration with the established companies in the market
segment might provide good opportunities to the SMEs to expand their business and create a
loyal fan base, which can later be utilized for attracting greater number of customers and
establishing the business further.
