INTORDUCTION
Hospitality sector is having a huge growth in the UK and it is a central of attraction in the
country (Tsang and Hsu, 2011). Most of the organisations which are working in the hotel
industry and under cover British Hospitality Association which is a regulatory body in the UK.
So it is essential for the authority to manage all of the hotels and restaurants in the country. Many
of the people are working in the hospitality organisations and they are having an opportunities to
grow their position via increasing their capabilities. This report is mainly based on the BHA and
this report is having focus on the supply of the work force in the organisation's which ensures the
growth of the hospitality sector. It is providing job opportunities to the people of the UK so it is
having a huge significance in the UK. After it is having a content on the balanced economy
which can help to the nation to manage a the positive growth of the economy. It is increasing
skills, competitive and taxation which help to the country to make a growth and support in the
GDP.
TASK 1
1.1 A workforce supply which facilitates growth
British Hospitality Association is having an authority to regulate their work force in the
organisation by which they can provide facilities to the customers in a better manner (Tsai and
et. al., 2010). Most of the organisation are working in the hospitality sector are having huge
management structure which is having need of the employees which are skilled and enabled to
provide a perfect services in account of the customers. According to the BHA they are providing
jobs more than 4.49 Millions people in the hotels, restaurants and other relevant organisation, so
it is essential for the BHA to manage their employees in a better way. So it is essential for the
BHA a to make a proper analysis of the organisation by which they can provide a better services
to the customers. So they have to make a proper communication with the owners which can help
to the make a proper analysis of the organisation.

Association have to make a proper list of the priorities of the organisation which can help to the
organisation to make a better services for the customers. A hotel is having different departments
which are having their separate work to perform in a day and huge structured organisations are
having a huge needs of the skilled people so it is essential for the organisations to make a
collective effort on it.
So it is essential for the BHA to attract people towards them which can help to the
industry to maximise their efforts to the customers (Shekarchizadeh and Hon-Tat, 2011). More
than 15% of the employees comes from the EU nation so it is essential for the UK organisation
to make a better policies and working environment for the organisation which can help to the
companies which are working in the hospitality sector to enhance their potential to convey
services against to the customers. During the last year UK is having down fall in the immigration
rates so it is essential for them to make an effective working policies for the employees which
are coming from the foreign country's for jobs. UK labour market is having a decrease in the
local employees in the hotel and tourism industry so it is essential for the BHA to manage work
force supply by increasing number of foreign employees in the UK in cited sector. The
hospitality sector is having huge growth for those which are working better against to the
expectation to the employers so it is essential for the managers and leaders of the organisation to
make a pe4rsonal analysis of the people which comes from the foreign country.
1.2 The impact of the National Living Wage
The national living wage is the wage which is paid to the citizen in UK for work done.
This includes the age limit of over 24 years and is paid according to hours (Nadiri and Tanova,
2010). The wage rate currently is £7.20 and it is estimated to increase at £9 by 2020.
National Living Wage is very significant for the employee working in UK because they
are dependent for their living on this. And there are many more reasons why this wage rate is
important like -

Impact of increase in NLW
Basically there is a huge impact of change in the wage rate. The hospitality sector have
got a huge bump due to this change, as the employers have a lot of pressure to create
work and to pay at the decided wage rate (Mok, Sparks and Kadampully, 2013). This
enhances the demand of the employer for the worker as the pay is good for the basic
worker.
Talking about the already working employees most of them are paid above the normal
wage rate and this is because of the retainment of the employees and some companies
claims that they have been consulted before the settlement of the wage rate
On the other hand the ONS(office for national statics) have analysed that hospitality
sector faces the biggest challenge in adopting the minimum wage rate as it stands on the
second position for the employees who earns below NLW before its introduction.
The report on the analysation of the increase in NLW will be issued by BHA and
ALMR(association of licensed multiple retailer)
The total cost of the industries will increase due to this increase in the NLW.
There would be a huge loss of employment which will lead to unemployment in the
country.
Employer aims at evaluating the worker before selecting as there are least affordability
for the inappropriate work because of increase in overall employee turnover which costs
huge amount to the company as well as it can be seen and accessed that the increase in
NLW has a huge impact which is good as well as bad for both the employer and the
employee (Lub and et. al., 2012). Increase in payroll increases the pressure on the
employer to pay more as well as it increases the work load of the employee to perform
excellently.

2.1 Rural and coastal growth
Rural and coastal areas are having a huge relevancy with the hospitality and tourism
industry because most of the tourists and they are having attraction top sea open beaches. They

are having need to spent their time in a peace and with their friends and families (Law, Qi and
Buhalis, 2010). Rural and coastal areas are the under covered by the UK government so it is
essential for the UK government to provide a better services to the people living near the coastal
areas and as well as it is necessary to make development in the coastal areas which can help to
the BHA and government to increase the tourism in those particular areas.
These areas are having huge potentials for the UK government and as well as for the
NHA to enhance the revenues and profits for the organisation. Balance in economy is an
essential element for a nations so it is essential for the authorized departments to make a proper
analysis of the coastal and rural areas to develop their markets and as well as their infrastructure.
It is essential for the UK government to make a balance in the in their economy which can help
to the government to make a balance in the economy to allocate their resources in a better way.
Most of the hospitality industry is working in the rural and coastal areas which helps to the
government to make a balance in the economy (Kang, Lee and Huh, 2010). They have to make a
proper balance by analysing the needs of the coastal and rural by which they can make a better
development in these areas. After the Brexit development of the coastal and rural areas gone
highly affected, EU is having a a separate funding for the rural and coastal area which helped to
the UK government to made a proper development of the economy and they are having a
different policy which supports to the economic system to allocate their resources in the different
sectors which are needed by the people living in those areas.
BHA is has to provide facilities to the people which are connected with the hospitality
organisation to increase their living of standards and as well as they have to make more better
policies for the employees which comes from the rural areas and coastal areas. Most of the rural
areas are not developed properly and they are having a need of the proper transport services and
mos5t of the coastal areas are suffering from the lower level of education so it is essential for the
government to make a better education system and provide a better education which can help to
the BHA to recruit local graduates which to increase the employability in the particular areas.
2.2 Facilitating travel across the UK
Tourism is the only source for some countries to earn and increase their GDP. So it states
that tourism is very significant for any country (Harrington and Ottenbacher, 2011). UK is a
developed country where people aims at generating business so tourism is a good source for it
there are many significance for the travel industry like-

London than of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland (Hsieh and Lin, 2010).
Recently the UK's government is making keen support to the tourism industry by
investing in this sector so as to ensure the development of hospitality and tourism

The GREAT rail initiative aims at encouraging the more and more visitors to travel
beyond London in UK which enhances there interest and the feeling to visit UK.
The government has also worked on expansion of the airport and air services of the
country which demonstrate that UK has open doors for the visitors and investment from
across the globe to increase country's tourism department and its income.
BHA has an important role whole through the campaign and plays a very significant role
in guiding and developing the tourism sector.
Overall UK should minimise its barriers to enter in the country so as to increase its visitors so
that their could be an increase in tourism and the work money and employment could be
generated as tourism is a good source of income (Gröschl, 2011). If UK wants to enhance the
tourism there should be more visa allotment to the visitors who wants to visit.
After Brexit there is a huge impact on the world's economy which implies a great impact on the
flow of money so there should be more liberalisation so as to increase globalisation.
Government is initiating to develop travel in UK by many policies and strategies which
will help UK to develop its travel and tourism. Which is a good opportunity for UK to deal with
the change due to Brexit in the economy (Davidson, Timo and Wang, 2010). It will at least help
the country to fill the part of loss due to the exit. Tourism and travelling is a really nice source to
get the country moving and to generate the business for the country.

Up-skilling Britain
As we know what a member of European union have the facilities as well as the
drawback. So after this huge change of Brexit in the country there are a lot of changes in the
BHA and the other sector as well (Chon and Yu, 2012). This step will make Britain to be self
dependent and to generate employment for the people of the country rather than hiring from
other countries. As well their would be some lack in support from the European union which will
make Britain to feel the major changes and less availability of fund. There are a lot of benefit as
well as a lot of loss of this Brexit policy. Stated as under-
The Brexit has made the British worker more important than any other employee. The
are given the first opportunity before anyone else. This will enhance the importance of
countries population and retain the people to stay in their home country
The career opportunity for the young generation will be more in hospitality sector it is
being ensured by the BHA in regards with the government. Due to which many young
ones will show interest in building their career in this field rather than going for any
other option.
The BHA industry is a people industry which focus less on the qualification and more
on the attitude, merit and aptitude (Chang, Gong and Shum, 2011). Which provides a
platform for the people who want to have employment out of which many have reached
peak in their field of working by achieving ownership, chef and management.
Moving on to the loss faced by UK due to this Brexit is that when it was the member of
EU it provided many subsidies and fund for the youth development and to generate
employment by the ESF (European social fund) and ERDF (European regional
development fund) and this fund aims at supporting many under 25s in the area of high
unemployment.
BHA sector would generate a lot of business for the country as well as the jobs by
attracting more and more employers like job venture plus and to encourage people to
build career in hospitality (Chan and Hawkins, 2010).
The under 25 generation will show interest in this and the country would have the most
youngest generation working in the sector of hospitality. Which will give more active

to develop its people. Britain is a very powerful country which will recover the loss soon and
will be back to normal by developing plans and policies and some strategies to have a command
over every other sector of the country which is being effected by Brexit.

Tourists Visas
Globalisation is a very important key to have tourists. Also there must be good and
optimistic relation with the other countries present in the world. The most important element for
the success for the BHA sectors was that their was liberal movement of everything when Britain
was member of EU (CG Davidson, McPhail and Barry, 2011). Which now have altered due to
the exit and which may decline the visitors or may enhance the more visitors to visit here.
Liberalising the strictness on the visa for the most visitors and restricting for those who visits for
free is one best solution to the government to enhance more visitors to the countries. The more
detailed information can be analysed as under-
The visitors who visits Britain are mostly from the countries which are member of
European union which is due to visa less and passport less entry to UK. Therefore the
government should protect the tourism by enabling visa less travel.
It is stated that there are Chinese who spends and visit UK and prefer to use credit card so
jobs are created for every 22 Chinese visitors who comes to Britain for visit. Which is a
good initiative to develop the better relation with the country.
Encouragement of Chinese tourists through by introducing new and cheaper visa will be
a step towards developing the BHA sector by inviting more international tourists (Buhalis
and Crotts, 2013).
The BHA is also working to attract the Indian tourist by simplifying the visa model
system which is £87 for six months visit as compared to the Chinese for whom it is for
2years.
Indians spend a lot in Britain when they visit Britain, it is estimated to £433 million and
additional £201 for the business visits. Britain aims at attracting 800,000 Indians every
year so as to add V500 million to its economy which is estimated to spend by the Indians
and 8,000 new job opportunities.

UK is aiming to increase its tourism by analysing and making reports on the most visitors in the
country. From which India and China are the main targets and the spender in UK during their
visit. Both the countries have a huge population and are developing countries due to which these
countries posses more opportunities for the people as well the different countries to have interest
in them (Brotherton, 2012). A good step is taken by UK to give job opportunities as well as
800,000 visitors every year from India and China this will ad up to the economy and will
increase the flow of money and generate job as well as other opportunities in the country. Britain
need to build up more such opportunities so as to have more opportunities for the country and its
people.

having a huge responsibility to manage employment level in the hospitality industry which can
help to the organisation to provide a better services for the customers. National living wages are
having huge impact of the lower immigration rates which can increase the demands of the higher
educated and qualified people in the organisation. EU was having huge impact on the
organisations which are working in the hospitality sector so it is essential for the organisations to
manage the supply and demands of the employees in the hospitality.
