The factors affecting the tourism industry in the UK
In the words of Jennings, et al., (2015), Health, safety and security standards are very high in UK
which will be one of the helpful factors to attract more travellers in the UK. Britain is considered
as one of the safest countries worldwide, but recent terrorist attacks made some negative impact
on travellers around the world because most people quickly cancelled their trips and tours
because of terrorist attacks which were coming to travel the UK from other countries (Jennings,
et al., 2015). Outbound travellers don't make much difference as well because of terrorist attacks
as well.
According to Cloquet, et. al., (2018), accessibility is one of the most important reasons because
of which travellers still want to travel in the UK besides these terrorist attacks as well. The UK is
one of the easiest accessible travel destinations worldwide. The increased number of airports,
ferry services and other travel transportations, it will be helpful to the country in order to attract
more travellers to the UK. The mobility services, road networks and different tourists facilities
play an important role in increasing the number of tourists to come to make travel to the UK
(Cloquet, et. al., 2018). The government is far more serious about the travellers so they
introduced new legislation under disability in discrimination act for tourists in the UK.
According to Avaraham & Ketter, (2017), Marketing campaigns plays a hugely important role in
attracting more customers to visit the UK. It will be helpful to the country to attract more people.
UK understands the importance of the travel industry in the growth of GDP and economy of the
UK, so the country makes huge promotions in order to make marketing campaigns on a huge
level so far. Different marketing methods such as radio, TV, internet, social media promotions,
sales promotions and print and digital media included in UK high-end promotions which helped
to attract the travellers worldwide as well (Avaraham & Ketter, 2017).
The number of more independent travellers has been increased in recent years in the UK. Earlier
people used to travel in groups with family and friends but these days travellers prefer to travel
solo, and there are different types of tours has been developing. Travellers like to travel alone not
just to have fun on their trips but also to enhance information, knowledge as well about the place.
Education travel is also one of the growing trends in the travel industry in the UK.
