1. What does the film tell you about the UK University system? Do the ideas and opinions
expressed in the film match your own experience so far?
The Universities in United Kingdom have the vibrant environment which focuses on the
culture, traditions and language of the Britishers (Yildiz, 2018). I studied in one of the British
universities, namely University of Bedfordshire wherein the dreams and ambitions of people are
taken into priority and it helped me in developing new skills and exploring new opportunities.
One thing which I experienced in the college system of Bedfordshire University is that it keeps
its traditions on the top. For example, there are arrangement of formal dinners two to three times
in University wherein the students are required to wear their traditional gowns and enjoy the
meal. Moreover, during exams, the students are required to be in uniform with formal shirts,
trousers, tie and many others. This shows that they value their culture and traditions utmost. One
thing which I absolutely liked about the University is that the professors and teachers are always
ready and willing to help the students in any situation. They call for the top experts and
academicians in Universities so that the students can have communication with them by sharing
ideas and they get involved in discussions which inspires students like me (Scally and Jiang,
2020). When comparing the education of British universities with my university, I found that the
University of Bedfordshire follows the same education system which is followed in whole UK.
Moreover, the British university provides financial assistance to the students such as students
loans, scholarships, bursaries, etc. so that students like me can get education without facing any
difficulties. Taking an example of Kings College, London, here seminars and lectures are
arranged by the students themselves at the international level so that they can communicate from
various students from varied backgrounds and countries in order to know their cultures. Then
following the example of London Metropolitan University, this college believes in applying the
knowledge in the practical life so that practical knowledge is gained and students are not stuck in
theoretical readings (Jacobs and et. al., 2020). Hence, I can say that the British Universities have
better education system and the University of Bedfordshire is same as other British universities
as my experience is similar to what I heard about in the video .

2. What aspects of University education are different in the UK to your own country and how do
the ideas expressed in the film match your own experience thus far at the University of
Bedfordshire?
I belong to Romania wherein the education system is similar to and distinct at the same
time with that of the UK. Both these countries have different education system yet there are
many similarities between the time. For instance, in Romania for the higher education, the
students has the number of credits which they are required to achieve in their academic year and
also they have examination period which is semester wise, that is , one in first semester and other
in second one. It is similar in UK also. Both of the countries provide the chance to the students
for choosing the courses. But the difference between the two is that, in UK, there is efficient and
interactive teaching method being adopted which is not in Romania (StudyMoose, 2016). When
I was studying in University in Bedfordshire, I got the interactive teaching wherein I was free to
make participation in courses and the teachers were also interactive enough to make the learning
easy. Another aspect of difference between UK and Romania is that the education in UK is quite
expensive as compared to Romania but UK Universities provide financial assistance to students
by way of loans, scholarships, etc. In Romania, There are many universities which are
government funded wherein the students are admitted and if they pass it with high grades, they
gets the education but the government slots are limited and allocation is done on the basis of
their results. Moreover, when seeking the distinction for length of masters degree, UK has one
year course while Romania has 2 years of course. Hence, it can be said that the there are many
aspects of University education which is distinct between UK and Romania but many pf the
aspects of my experience in UK university is same in University of Bedfordshire as I
experienced similar things which I got to hear about UK education system.
