In a business organisation operational management is the administration of operational and
performance practices to achieve operational efficiency and effectiveness. In general terms,
operational management is the process of converting the input or raw materials into effective
output or products and services properly. The problem statement of this study is to identify input,
output and transmission process of operations in an organisation for gaining of marketing
competitive advantages and marketing capabilities. By using appropriate concepts for
performance evaluation and recommendations to the problems faced by companies in order to
achieve competitive advantages are to be interpreted in this report.
Overview of the organisation
In this report selected medium sized company for interpreting the topic of operational
management is UK based company UKRD group. Type of this company is private limited
belongs to broadcasting industry ranked first in the country respectively. The company was
founded on 1994 headquartered in Cornwall of UK. Main products of this company is making of
local radio and commercial radio operator. Growth level and yearly earnings of this company is
very high and with the number of employees of 275 and therefore the company ranked 1 with
their productivity and profitability effectively and efficiently (McDonald and Starkey, 2016,
p.126). In this context operational management of the company UKRD group have to be
discussed properly in order to understand the learning outcomes properly.
