INTRODUCTION
There are different tourist place and destination in world. They all are famous for their
unique features and history. Similarly, in Australia as well Uluru is rock which is famous for its
auburn hue. It is a prime tourists place for people of Australia. But in recent times, the place has
become scared. This is because of death of few people in it (Appleby, and Davis, 2018).
The report will describe about two articles whether Uluru must be reopened for tourists or
not. In that arguments of authors will be compared.
MAIN BODY
In my view there can be various reason due to which a tourist place can be closed. It might
be due to geographic, climate, etc. The government is responsible for governing and looking
after entire tourist place. I found that it is stated by Mark Hendricks that Angagu is responsible
for forming law of climb. Due to death of people the place is closed. However, it is said that
climb is men’ s area so there are some cultural reasons due to which it is closed. Thus, cultural
law is applied in it which include hills, rocks, etc. so, this place must be opened for tourist to
understand what Tjukrupa include. This will enable tourist to lean about Tjukrupa if they are
allowed to climb over it. Besides that, many people are in favour that Uluru is tourist and
important place so it must be opened.
But I got to know that other author argued that Anangu is applied to restrict people in some
limited area. This is because Uluru include a scare area. The main purpose is to save Tjukurpa
because it is related to culture. Due to that Uluru place is closed.
However, I found that in second article the author argued that Uluru must be remain open as
gives a new experience for tourist (Bickersteth, West, and Wallis, 2020). The surrounding
landscape, vegetation, geology, etc. is fascinating. It also helps in understanding science behind
rock’s presence, and its effect on surrounding landscape. Thus, from that it can be understood
how that place influence on human society. Along with that, there many Australian who have
climbed that and enjoyed and explored new areas. In that people of all age that is children,
adults, old age, etc. have also climbed it and there are no incidents that has occurred.
So, here author is saying that place must be reopened for tourist so that they can experience
something new and explore that. Along with that, author is saying that the death which occurred
in climb is no one fault. But when by considering other tourist place in world it can be stated that
they are closed because of action of few tourists.

I also analysed that author also argued that Uluru must be opened to share. It is because
route of climb state path of Mala men when he arrived at Uluru (Chan, 2019). Hence, to know
history some people equate climb to rock to walk on cathedral. Apart from that it is right of
common people to celebrate and share their stories by worship. Moreover, the owner that is
Anangu will be able to celebrate their culture and share with others as well. Here, author also say
that board must open Uluru so all people of different culture can visit it and enjoy. It gives a new
experience for all people. Thus, the board must consider it to reopen for tourists.
So, in my opinion by comparing both arguments in articles it can be stated that both
authors are focusing on opening of Uluru. They are saying that climb helps in celebrating culture
and to enjoy. Alongside, they said that Anangu is responsible for making of laws for that tourist
place. They govern that entire place and takes various types of decisions. It is also said that
closing of climb is not for tourist but for local culture to be prevented (Dittmer, Chapman, and
Bidwell, 2020). But I argued that local culture can be prevented with help of certain restrictions
and not by closing tourist site. Moreover, local culture is explored and people get to know more
about it. Thus, uluru must be opened for tourist.
However, by comparing article it can be analysed that argument given by Sammy Wilson is
convincing because in this the author is saying that closing of climb is done for some certain
cultural reasons. Here, tourists are not restricted but they are not allowed to go or visit area that is
known as sacred site. Along with that, they want Tjukurpa to be everlasting in that place. The
author has also given some valid reasons of Whitefellas which see land as economic terms. So, if
Tjukrupa is gone than entire Uluru will disappear in 50 – 100 years. Also, it requires government
to respect culture of that place (Hays, Bidwell,. and Dittmer, 2019). The author has described
about situation of Anangu who worker as stations manage and lived in bush. They made
boundaries to protect animal stock. So, they have created their own land and built it.
Furthermore, Anangu said that many people have died here because they brought devil’s marble
to alice springs. So, in this way author has given arguments to close Uluru and not to open it for
tourists. In addition, the author has given clear insight on what situation is there and why
the place is restricted. So, brief description of various events is explained and strong reason is
given behind it.

CONCLUSION
It can be concluded from above that Uluru is tourist place in Australia and it has been closed
by Anangu people. The main reason behind closing of this is to save and protect local culture.
Also, there are certain restrictions which are imposed but it has not been banned completely.
