NAME OF THE STUDENT. NAME OF THE UNIVERSITY.
Overview
The major regions to study the role of the Catholic
Social Teaching are: Public agencies, Private agencies
and the Not –for-profit agencies
The chosen organization for study is the Agency for
Technical Cooperation (ACTED), which looks into the
development of a system that protects the dignity and
independence of the aging refugee population of
Lebanon. These refugees have been from the troubled
regions of Syria who took shelter in Lebanon from the
year 2016. The population is so huge that an estimate
of 1 refugee is there in this region for every 4 nationals
(Data2.unhcr.org, 2019).
Challenges with realizing the aspirations to
the Common Good
Fund shortages are crucial for ACTED
Being a non-governmental organization, which works for
a social cause but not to generate profits or revenue, the
organization has less workers and support.
Every person does not have the same prerogative to
work for everyone else’s betterment. The organization is
struggling to earn daily bread for the refugees in
Afghanistan and Lebanon, as these places house a huge
number of population.
Diverse religion and ethnic beliefs tend to create a
hostile situation for the refugees who are not always
welcomed warmly when it comes to sharing the
resources of the natives.
Challenges of shelter, medicine and education exists
besides the food shortage. Local community
participation is not enough in these regions as it requires
global support and resources, now. This would also
eliminate social isolation and boost the building up of a
socially strong community ground (Liu et al., 2016). It
also aims at developing a stringer and integrated
community.
My Professional Contribution with respect to CST
There is a value associated with the “Life and Dignity” of a person
and all of them are equally valued. This ensures one’s responsibility
towards their own selves before serving the others (Catholic
Community Services and Catholic Housing Services of Western
Washington, 2019)).
Developing proper connection with ACTED and providing donations
besides reaching out to others in order to raise awareness and
funding to smoothen their activities. Rights and
Besides funds, collection of clothes, books and other necessities can
help yielding a better solution to the deprived apart from funds.
Solidarity with the other humans irrespective of their religion,
national boundaries, ethnic and racial differences besides respect
for the economic and ideological differences are essential. So,
rumours and hatred being spread in the name of religion should be
tackled and countered at the individual levels.
Caring for the creations of God and thereby protecting the
environment, animals and its people is a major way to raise
awareness practices and maintain a harmony across nations
(Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services of
Western Washington, 2019). Women and children must be provided
with necessary medical treatments by the doctor’s association.
Men and youth needs a pro-social hand in their entry into the
workforce to uplift their living standards in these regions and a warm
acceptable environment is necessary for the same.

Introduction
This study tries to look into the system of Catholic Social
Teaching (CST) based on the Christian moralities, their
virtues, social practices and other institutional and
community practices (Brady, 2017).
It attempts to focus on the speech given out by Pope
Francis as “On care for our Common Home” to promote
developing a relationship between the self and the
community as well as to increase the human dignity.
The mutual endeavours to come together and work
from the cohesive perspective is essential to uplift the
challenges to the community.
