Week 3 – Understanding Assessment Seminar
From this project about understanding the lecture and seminar I have understood the
assessment. I have understood that for better understanding the lectures and seminar I need good
communication skills. After making sure that I attended all the sessions correctly and on time I
can say that I am successful in development of my communication skills (Bernard and
Senjayawati, 2019). For me major part of my communication skill is the skill of listening and
understanding what is being said. Lectures are a very easy source for development of learning
skills. Due to my regular attendance in this seminar I have been successful in receiving
acknowledgement feedback from the tutor about my sincerity. The seminar which I attended was
on the topic of journalism. With the help of these seminars I was able to understand how for
journalism guides a beginner (Sambrook and et.al., 2018). From my understanding these lecture
contained topic about how with the help of What, Where, When, Who, Why and How can help
in understanding the journalism. There are three stages described in this seminar which are
description, analysis and evaluation. I understood these stages with the help of What, Where,
When, Who, Why and How. For example, in the description what is this about.
Week 4 – Working in Teams
I learned about the principles of group and how to work together in a group. I learned
about the different team functions and performed scenarios with respect to the functions of the
team. In scenario one, While working with a group which include your friends the danger we
face is that while we all are getting together nicely and communicate correctly we might get
dependent on each other. Such a team would be great at presenting the project but such a team
should stock themselves and be focused about the project. Adair models of team functions states
that one should maintain team together, achieve the tasks as well as develop the individuals
accordingly all these are achieved in this scenario. In scenario 2, I can figure out that this group
would face many issues like conflict of opinion, stressful environment, people would be doing
exactly the opposite of what their interests are (Alcover, Rico and West, 2021). A team which is
organized accordingly will be much more successful in their work. I also learned about the
Belbin’s team roles which include Implementer, Co-ordinator, Shaper, Plant, Resource
investigator, Monitor-evaluator, Team worker, Complete-finisher and Specialist. This theory is
based on empirical based research, balance of roles provides effectiveness. While working in a
group it is very important to have a lot of fun, I learned a few things which include to be on

schedule, helping each other, to reduce misunderstandings, to communicate in a simple language.
A team which works together stays.
Week 5 – Reading and Research Skills
Reading is a skill one should possess, it enhances your world and broadens your way of
thinking. I learned about the advantages and the procedures of reading in this project. Reading
and Researching skills are the most valuable skills in today’s era. The most common question in
today’s world related to reading is what do we read, any type of literature can be valuable,
whether it be books, newspapers, articles etc. It is most important to know what you are
interested in and select the medium of your reading. One should determine one’s own pace at
which he /she wants to read, every person differs from one another. Academic learning or
reading is also a crucial part of reading as we develop our academic knowledge by that. I learned
that to choose a resource is important, whether it be a book, a website or any form of literature or
data (Burns and et.al., 2018). After choosing the resource of your reading one should figure out if
this resource would be useful or not, to gather such information we have to look what the title of
the book is, who the publisher is the summary and a lot of research. To improve my skills as a
reader I must check my eye movement, test my reading skills by number of words per minute.
To increase the reading speed one should increase the no. of fixations in a line, eliminate
backwards movement and wandering and reducing the duration of the fixation.
Week 6 – Presentation Skills
Presentation skills are very important in today’s era as most of the fields require
presenting. Whether you present yourself your organization or your product. A nice presentation
sets the mood for further deals. The key role in presenting is Confidence, I learned that
confidence is the key factor while presenting. To Increase your confidence one should practice
frequently in front of your friends, family or by just standing in front of the mirror. To not get
intimidated by the audience. In order to become a great presenter one should have its
presentation prepared thoroughly (Dolan, R., 2017). I learned that by using SWOT analysis on
the presentation we can repeat our strengths, repair our weaknesses, expect the opportunities
about a better presentations and by doing things which threaten you the most increases
confidence. While presenting using common examples leads to a better connectivity between the
audience and yourself, and also boosts your confidence. I learned that while presenting a joke or
something which gets the audience involved is a fine way of engaging the audience with the

presentation. The most important thing to do while presenting is to be real and not copying
someone. One’s personality is the main key in life. Welcoming questions and comments should
be appreciated while presenting. Taking deeps breaths helps to centralize a person, while
performing nervous energy is the biggest threat. Last but not the least every presentor should be
happy and that should reflect with a smile. A smile stimulates the audience to be attentive.
Week 7 - Presentation of group work and feedback
From today’s presentation it is very clear for me the importance of working in group and
benefits of giving and receiving feedbacks. There can be different types of group works but one
person can gain a lot when they invest their time and energy in a well functioning group. A lot
can be learned when working with a group such as understanding a learning different perspective
to an approach or to solve a problem. The way a feedback helps in growing an individual was the
most interesting part in today’s seminar (Rivas, and Toseland, 2017.). Group work does not only
help at school level projects but it stays within a corporate life of an individual. It is collaborative
learning where the group members learn and solve problems together. They share responsibility
for the good as well as the bad things. This fascinates me a lot. Talking about the feedback, it
was very surprising to know that they help in developing personal relations and personality.
Feedbacks help in understanding the points which we lack in and give us the opportunity to do
better the next time. I now want to see myself working effectively with a group of people and
taking the feedbacks as a constructive criticism and try to work on the negative parts.
Week 8 – Introduction to academic writing and academic Integrity
From today’s session I have learnt the basic meaning of academic writing and academic
integration. Academic writing is a formal procedure of writing as in for essays and research
topics. Academic integrity on the other hand is putting values into the practice and being honest
about it in the work. The most interesting topics from today’s seminar were learning to write a
report and Essay. The information about plagiarism was also the one which drew my attention.
This was interesting because I did not know essay writing is done with consider so many points.
A good essay is made easier by planning in prior and making clear points about addressing the
questions. A good essay will help in organising all the information related to the topic in a single
paragraph (Schneider, and et.al., 2018). An essay is formed with a certain essay structure.
Coming to the report writing part, I felt good in knowing that a report can help people understand

my views and might even contribute to some changes. I understood that report can be written in
different forms like factual, which states all the facts, then instructional which gives instructions
and explain the situation to be presented. Lastly, it is persuasive type which is a leading report
and any survey report comes into this category. I would like to pursue something related to
report writing and want to check my contents of writing for plagiarism.
Week 9 – Managing stress
Today’s session was personally helpful and very interesting for me. This modern world
can be really stressful for a teenager to a senior citizen. I always thought that nothing can be
done about the stress due to any work but today I got to know the ways of managing stress which
was very fascinating and interesting for me to know. This was interesting because of learning
about the importance of managing stress as high level of stress can be harmful for the wellbeing
of an individual. The tips of managing stress were very helpful and they were firstly to identify
the source of stress the practicing stress management by avoiding, altering, adapting and
accepting the root of the stress (Kassymova, and et.al., 2018). Connecting with others and
involving with the community is very helpful to avoid having any symptoms related to stress.
Making time for fun activity can help in relaxing the mind and diverting it from taking the stress.
Things I want to do now is firstly check for any symptoms relating to stress and then following
the tips and tricks to manage the stress and move on from it. Having a time management can
really help in avoiding any situations which might lead to stress and therefore, I would like to
follow time management in my daily routine activities.
Week 10: Review and feedback
This is an highly beneficial stage for me due to the fact that since I am an individual which
is pursuing its academic career. Therefore because of which the reviews are being provided in
terms of my individual performance is being able to enable me to showcase the weak areas
within my working. Through this I am having a proper understanding about the area of
requirements, which are necessary for me in order to make concentrated efforts to improve my
overall performance. Also this is an effective approach for me due to the fact that once I am
being able to have a proper understanding about the areas of work. Therefore with this approach

I can assure that I am being able to take appropriate steps by which overall performance can be
improved.
Week 11: Taster Session GSBL Course- part 1
As being an individual I am highly being motivated to achieve a dream job within the field of
journalism because through this I am being able to take appropriate steps by which desired target
can be achieved (Kornelakis and Petrakaki, 2020). Therefore in order to improve my
employability skills I have to assure that appropriate steps are being implemented within my
academic career by which I am being able to take appropriate steps through which desired target
can be accomplished. This becomes important for me that I am having a proper understanding
about the core concepts. Through which I am being able to take best suitable methods such that I
can achieve my desired job profile.
Week 12: Taster Session GSBL Course- part 2
Within my academic career I have to ensure that I am having proper understanding about
my working capabilities and knowledge base. This is important because through this step I have
to guarantee that I am being able to make several steps by which overall performance growth
within the academic career is being accomplished. Thus through this approach I can assure that I
am being able to achieve higher employability skills as well. It is important for because I have to
guarantee that I am being able to attain appropriate knowledge base, such that I am being able to
attain a higher performance by which desired job role can be achieved.
Week 13: Taster Session GSBL Course- part 3
The taster session was highly being productive for me due to the fact that it provided me an
ability to evaluate my performance in such a way that I am being able to identify the limitations
which are affecting my goal achieving capabilities. With that this also becomes an important
factor due to the fact that once I am being able to identify the performance gap. Then on that
approach I am being able to develop a proper strategy, while integrating the personal strengths
and the overall aim of the strategy will be to make efforts to overall the weak areas. Therefore
with this developed strategy I will be able to take appropriate steps, which are being required for
using the strength to overcome the weak areas (Cotronei-Baird, 2020). Thus implementation of
taster sessions is also being important for me due to the fact that I have to make a series of
consecutive steps for target achievement. Thus this tester session provide an ability to learn new
skills by which overall performance can be improved.

Week 14: Taster Session GSBL course- part 4
It is highly important for individual like me that I am having a proper understanding about
my requirements and also because of which I am being able to take appropriate steps such that
my overall requirements can be fulfilled. With that this becomes important due to the fact that
once I am being able to identify the latest market potential. Then on this base I am being able to
take appropriate steps which is being able to resource my working potential with improved
working capability.
Therefore, with this graphical representation of my learning within various fields I can ensure
that I am being able to evaluate the overall academic requirements which are essential for the
achievement of an higher academic score (Alharahsheh and Pius, 2021). Therefore with this
approach I can assure that I am being able to improve my presentation skills and also because of
which overall performance growth is being accomplished.
Therefore with the implementation of this approach there are various steps which I need
to achieve is to identify purpose of research which is adequate through which advertising
marketing Comm. will be improved. This will be highly beneficial for me in terms of developing
my event management skills. This will be highly beneficial for me due to the fact that once I am
being able to achieve proper skills which are required for developing proper skill for target
achievement then overall chances of goal achievement will also be increased.
Week 15: Taster Session GSBL course- part 5
The testing session was highly beneficial for me because of the fact that with this approach
I am being able to make concentrated efforts to improve my performance within respective areas.
This becomes important due to the fact that within my sessions I tend to achieve knowledge and
skills in various fields. Therefore, due to which it becomes important for me to check the overall
effectiveness of the project, with which I can ensure that I am being able to identify the weak
areas which is affecting my performance. Thus through this testing session is being an effective
approach which is being able to showcase the performance, which I am having within my
activities.
This learning within the session is highly being productive for me but also at the same time
I have to guarantee that I am being able to take appropriate steps by which I am being able to
learn new skills as well. This learning new skill is very important for me because I have to
guarantee that I am being able to take appropriate steps by which desired work productivity is

being accomplished. With that this also becomes important due to the fact that once I am being
able to identify the performance gap. Then with the utilization of Course catalogue and Course
specification I can take appropriate step which fulfil my requirements.
Week 16: Review courses and preparation for presentation
In order to increase the effectiveness of my higher education I have to ensure that I am about the
fully understand the overall learning. Thus in order t achieve this I have to make several efforts
by which my presentation skills are being improved. This is an significant step for me because
improved presentation skill will enable me to establish an efficient communication bridge with
others (Osmani and et.al, 2019). Through this the overall performance will be improved and also
I can use this presentation skill to discuss the issues which I am facing within my academic
career. With this approach I can assure that I am being able to discuss the issues which are
affecting my performance and by which overall chances of target achievement can be increased.
Having a proper understanding about the course will empower me to take appropriate
steps on the bases of situations through which I can establish uniformity within my performance.
Therefore, because of which I can increase the chances of goal achievement within the academic
career, this also becomes significant due to the fact that. Once I am being able to understand the
effectiveness of my learning, then on that bases I can take respective actions through which my
overall performance will be improved.
Week 17: Critical thinking
In today’s session critical thinking was being elaborated and because of which it can be
identified by me that I am being able to achieve a proper understanding about various factors.
Through this I can ensure that I am being able to develop a skill by which all the respective
factors are being properly evaluated by me. Thus in order to achieve this I need to have to an
efficient understanding about facts and also with that I need to have a proper understanding
about certain and uncertain factors (Osmani and et.al, 2019). This is necessary because with this
approach the un-necessary elements within the case can be eliminated, through which target
achievement capability can be increased.
This is important for me to develop critical thinking skill because I have to understand that
everything is uncertain and due to which several situations often may arise. This becomes
important also because of the fact that once I am being able to develop a proper skill to segregate
the certainties with the uncertainties. Then with this approach I can assure that I am being able to

Week 18: Individual Presentation
The feedback sheet empowered me to mark my performance in such a way that I am being able
to self evaluate my performance in terms of identifying the weak areas. Then making appropriate
steps to tackle the weak areas, through which I can ensure that I am being able to develop
appropriate strategy (Sarkar and et.al, 2020). Through which desired target can be achieved.
This utilization of feedback sheet was highly productive for me because with this I am
being able to identify the areas for improvement. Therefore with this I am being able to take
appropriate steps by which desired target can be achieved accordingly. This will not only
improve my performance within an area but has also opened an options to self evaluate my
current performance with the current projects. Then compare it with the previous projects as
well, by which the effectiveness of the implementation of the learning on the ground level will
be increased by me.
Thus in order to improve my performance I have to develop strategy and for which
requirements have to be identified. Therefore, following are the SMART goals which I tend to
face;
1. To increase my knowledge base on learning with the use of lecture notes within
next 1 month.
2. To identify approaches for implementation of learning on the ground level, by
establishing communication with the market professional through online call or
assistance within next 9 months.
Week 19: Academic Integrity
In today’s session the aspects which I found significantly interesting was the proper
understanding about the several detailed concepts of academic writing. Thus following are the
different aspects which I found most interesting were the use of Plagiarism, Reference and
Academic integrity. This will be highly being beneficial for me because with the fellowship of
the respective topic I can transmit the core Respect, Morality and Professional code. Through
which desired target can be achieved in minimum efforts.

In today’s learning I was being able to achieve the in-depth understanding about the
academic learning and due to which I am being empowered to minimize my dependency on
others and because of which I can make efforts to achieve individual based products. This will be
highly beneficial for me because this will empower me to take appropriate steps which are being
required for the achievement of desired target.
Once I am being able to achieve a proper understanding about my learning and due to
which I am highly being motivated to implemented the learning on the ground level (Pouratashi
and Zamani, 2019). Through this I can ensure that I am being able to improve my performance,
by which desired professional target can be accomplished.
Week 20: Orientation for success in higher education
Current level of confidence, on the bases of scale of 1 to 5 I would like rate my confidence level
at 5.
1. My confidence level of high because I am having a proper understanding about the
approach through which the writing can be managed properly, due to which I can achieve
my desired target in minimum efforts.
2. The reason for increasing my confidence level is because that I am able to understand to
the requirement of the question and then on that bases am able to make improvisation
within the result.
3. Also during this segment of journalism I am being able to achieve efficient knowledge
base, through which I am being able to integrate the learning of various other fields
within the final product by which reliability is being increased.
4. Since I am able to manage the time consumption within the product development,
therefore with this approach I able to save efficient time, through which I am able to
proofread the final product by which quality is being ensured.
The learning allowed me to proper set the journalism questions with the use of key words like
what, when, who and where by which I am being able to attain the proper description of the
information Through this the overall accuracy of the project is also being increased.
