INTRODUCTION
People work for various reason which help them in improving their skills, knowledge and
learning (Brewer, Morris and Piper, 2016). It helps them to get them learning and development f
new skills as well as new things which provide them future career opportunity. There are various
factors which helps employees to work and these include salary, extra incentives, working
environment, support from fellow colleagues. These are positive and negative impact of work on
employees as it improves their knowledge as well working performance. It also provides them
growth opportunity in future and improve their overall motivation level. This project report
includes study of John which needs a report to understand what factors make people to work as
he has bought an organisation which is IOM Electronic Ltd. This project report includes various
factors which motivate employees to work. It also includes positive and negative factors an
employee fell from their job role.
MAIN BODY
Factors which motivate employees to work
There are various factors which motivate employees to work as work helps them to earn
their livelihood. Motivation helps to drive urge in an individua to work willingly and
enthusiastically. There are various factors which provide these urges in an employee and it
includes alary, on-monetary incentives, relationship with fellow colleagues, relationship with
leader, learning and development, working environment, proves of company and many more.
These factors motivate employees and increase their morale. There are various factors which
motivate employees to work in organisation of John and these factors Are as follows:
Salary: People work to get salary to earn their livelihood. Receiving regular salary helps to
fulfil their basic needs which is satisfied by employer (Cheese and Hills, 2016). Salary motivate
a person to work for other person as it helps them to satisfied their personal needs. But it does
not work as a motivator for long period of time. Salary is a small factor in order to satisfy need
of an employees. Not getting sufficient salary can cause dissatisfaction among employees which
create negative impact on performance of employees. John need to provide sufficient payment to
employees of IOM Electronics Ltd. to motivate them to work.
Non- monetary incentives: There are various non-monetary incentives which also satisfy
needs to employees and motive them to work. Theses incentives helps team to improve

performance of employees, provide them recognition. It also improves their morale and create
working environment which lead them to work with more dedication. There are various method
of non- financial benefits including appreciation as well as acknowledgement of work, providing
rewards for their hard work. Employers can also provide them flexible working environment
which motivates them to work. John can provide various non-monetary benefit to their
employees in IOM Electronics Ltd. which helps them in motivating employees to work. This
will also increase their satisfaction and morale which helps them to work willingly. These benefit
not only helps employee to work but also retain employee in organisation for long period of
time.
Relation with Colleagues: Employees at work place work with their fellow colleagues
and make informal relationships (Kuhn and Maleki, 2017). This interaction with other colleagues
will create impact on their performance and behaviour. Negative behaviours form colleagues can
result in dissatisfaction and loneliness which make it difficult for employees to work in that
environment. Employee is social person they need someone with whom they can talk. Friendly
behaviour of employees helps them in increasing their performance and also increase provide
them sense of belongingness. This factor helps employees to work in a particular organisation
and also increase their loyalty for their team members. John can help employees to build relation
with their colleges which helps to improve loyalty level of employees of IOM Electronics Ltd.
This factor helps employees to work in that organisation and also increase their level of
cooperation.
Relation with leadership: Relation with leader also helps employee to work in an
organisation. Leader form relation with their employee by understanding their problem and
provide them solution for their problem (Kuhn, 2016). Understanding nature of leader helps
enterprise to retain their employee for long period of time. This also enable effective
communication between them which increase their level of trust. This relationship between
leader and employees allow them to share their needs with leader and talk about their feelings
and problem. This provide clear understanding to manager about need of employees. John can
motivate employees to work by building good relation with their managers or leaders in IOM
Electronics Ltd.
Learning and development opportunity: Work helps employees to increase their
learning, knowledge and enhance their skills which provide them career opportunity in future.

Employees sometimes chose to work to learn something new which helps them in enhance their
knowledge and learning. Providing guidance to employees helps them to improve their area
which provide them development and progress. Employees leave employer when they get
opportunity to learn something new which helps hem to provide growth. Learning and
development factors helps employees to improve engagement of employee within enterprise and
also improve their performance. Employees in IOM Electronics Ltd. are working for learning
and development which helps them to provide better career opportunity.

Positive factors: Work create positive impact on performance as well as well being of an
individual. These factors include work allow them to form social relationship with other
employees (Olson and Swabey, 2017). It also helps them in increasing their engagement in work
and also create positive impact on performance of employees. These factors which create
positive impact of employees of IOM Electronics Ltd. are as follows:
Fostering social relationship: Work provide opportunity to an individual to meet with
new people and also make relationship with them. This interaction and relationship provide
support to an employee and create good impact on performance of employees. This helps them to
form relationship to employees with their fellow colleagues as well as their leader and managers
which create positive impact on employees as well as their performance. Employees working in
IOM Electronic Ltd. can build social relation with their fellow colleagues which helps them to
enjoy their work and create good impact on their performance.
Increasing engagement of employees: Work allow employees to increase their
engagement and also increase their productivity level in organisation. Relationship of employee
with other person create positive impact on their performance as well as on their well-being
(Soroui, 2021). Improvement of engagement of employee in organisation can impact their
production capacity and also reduce cost of their operation. Working in enterprise helps
employees to increase their engagement and also improve their performance. It creates positive
impact on employees working in IOM Electronics Ltd. by improving their productivity level as
well engagement in working of organisation.
Providing sense of achievement: Working in an enterprise provide them sense of
achievement. Everything an individual do is to achieve something in their life This work
provides them sense of achievement in their life and provide them recognition in society as well

as workplace. It creates positive impact on mentality of employees which helps them to crate
positive impact on their performance. Work create positive impact on performance of employees
IOM Electronics Ltd. as it provides them sense of achievement and recognition in society.
Negative Factors: here are various factors which create negative impact on performance
and well-being of an employee. These factors include. Factors related to job role of an
employees create various negative impact of employees are as follows:
Lack of creativity: Employees who is working constantly without any changes can fell less
creative (Waldron, 2019). As doing same work in same job role reduce their level of creativity.
This can impact on their performance and also restrict them from creativity. This lack of
creativity can reduce opportunity of growth for them.
Dissatisfaction: Employees while working feels dissatisfaction from employees due to lack
of understanding with their employees. Changes in work can create negative impact on their
performance. This will reduce their level of flexibility for work.
CONCLUSION
From above mentioned project report, it can be concluded that there are various factors
which helps an employee to work These factors include good salary and non-monetary
incentives. This will attract an employee towards a particular organisation, an employee also like
to work where are good working culture at work place and employees are supporting enough to
provide them support. Factors like support from leader and learning and development also allow
employee to work in a company. There ate various positive and negative impact on employees
form this work. Work helps them to improve their engagement and provide them career growth.
It provides them see of achievement in life and also allow them to form informal relationship
with other people. But there is some native impact on employees like it reduce their flexibility,
can cause dissatisfaction in them.
