INTRODUCTION
The term ‘research’ may be defined as a careful consideration of a particular study regarding a
specific concern or problem by opting different scientific methods (Ary, Jacobs and Walker,
2018). It is a very critical and time consuming process that requires skills and expertise of
collecting and interpreting data. It helps business in talking effective decisions that contributes in
attaining organisational goals. It facilitates in understanding the new growth and developments in
a particular field in an efficient way. This project essay will cover a brief introduction of research
along with its nature and principles of conducting good research.
TASK
Research is the foundation of knowledge for the purpose of inportan6t source in order to provide
norms and guidelines for solving various business, social and governmental problems (Massa,
Tucc and Afuah, 2017). It enables business to take effective measures by providing insights of
collected data. In order to get accurate result, it is needed to collect accurate data either by
primary or secondary source. Following are nature of research.
Nature of Research
 Objectives – Research undertakes the study of issue deeply which leads to enhancement
of existing knowledge or in solving any issue in an organisation. In order to get accurate
results, it is important to formulate proper hypotheses or it may lead to lack in
congruence between hypotheses and questions.
 Generalizability – Research is done by taking sample. The findings are drawn from a
large population but are based on sample size only. The sample size denotes the whole
population.
 Free from personal biases - A proper research must not be based on researcher’s interest
and preference and must be objective, not subjective. In other words, it can be said that
the research can be done in such a manner that researcher cannot use his skills or
perception to change data in order to manipulate.
 Systematic – A well-researched should be done by a systematic and well planned steps. It
helps in bringing uniformity in research work and report writing. So it is important to

follow each step in a logical order so that it can yield accurate and unbiased data. The
research may show inaccurate results if there is omission in following step of series. So it
is important to follow logical and structured process in order to get proper and accurate
insights (Denscombe, 2017).
 Reproducible – It is one of the most crucial nature of research which states that a
researcher should obtain same results if he is using same methodology and investigation
of similar characteristics to earlier study (Denscombe, 2017). The results must be same of
current and previous study.
 Directed towards problem solution – Research helps in identifying problems and
investigate in every aspect of problem. It undertakes various procedure in order to deeply
understand cause in order to get better solution for. In this manner research is done
towards obtaining solution for issues and problems (Schroeder, 2018).
 Logical –There are various sources by which a researcher can collect data such as from
online platforms, conducting surveys and taking feedbacks. It does not show result on the
basis of interpretation but have used various logics in order to get accurate results.
Deductive and Inductive studies are some example of logical reasoning (Stebbing, 2018 ).
 Replicable – By conducting research on same project helps in increasing its reliability of
its results. The earlier theories were tested again to improve their effectiveness and
reliability over a pace of time (Urhahne and Wijnia, 2021)
Principle of conducting good research
 Selectiveness – It is very important to take essential data in report or it may not
show accurate results. It helps in saving of time, energy and cost while collecting
sample and interpreting. So it is needed to take down vital points and they must
not be missed (Zickfeld and Schubert, 2019)..
 Comprehensiveness – While conducting research, it is done completely and
includes all content of collected data along with interpretation. It must follow
systematic and structured procedure while conducting research.
 Cost consideration – It is important to conduct research within the given budget
and must not cross its budgeted cost. It is needed to conduct within budget in
order to save overall cost (Banker, R.D., Byzalov, Fang and Liang, 2018).

 Accuracy – While conducting research, the data that is collected form a reliable
source and must be accurate. If the data is collected from unreliable source, then it
may show wrong result. Along with reliability, it must not have grammatical
errors.
 Objectivity – The objectivity of researcher should be on getting accurate results
not on his biasness, he should not have intention to use his perception in order to
manipulate data. While collecting data, it must not use his liking and disliking and
must be prepared for impersonal needs. The research must suit objectives and
must meet expectations.
 Preciseness – It is not needed to have a lengthy report which becomes difficult to
interpret and read full research report. It should cover all contents in a precise
manner in order to make it simple and easy for audience to read.
 Protecting confidentiality –While conducting research it vis important to protect
confidentiality of participants and must be taken by their consent (Zickfeld and
Schubert, 2019). The data or information should not be leaked in any case.
CONCLUSION
From the above project essay, it was concluded that research helps in solving business or any
social issues by undertaking a deeply study of cause. It requires sample size from a large
population and must be collected from reliable source in order to get accurate results. The
research must carry a structured and organised procedure so that it can provide with accurate
insights. There are various ethics and principles that researcher have to follow while conducting
research. The researched report must not be based on biasness and researcher must not use his
skills and perceptions along with his liking and disliking.
