INTRODUCTION
There are different functions of business and different functions are having different role
for having effective business-environment(Bulsara And et.al., 2017). Present study is based on
the organisation Unilever that is a consumer good company having its head quarter in London,
UK. Report will include importance of different business functions and its interrelationships with
each other. Further report will include necessary academic skills and techniques for successful
undergraduate students.
Different business functions and its interrelationship with each other
There are different business functions in Unilever and are having following relationship
with each other:-
Finance and marketing:- Finance and marketing department of Unilever works together
in order to achieve business goals. Finance department works for managing budgets,
funds and also allocating resources for the business. On the other hand, marketing
department of Unilever creates sales for the business with the help of promotions and
advertising mediums. Marketing department depends of finance department in order to
get funds so that they can utilise the same for promotional activities(Duncan, 2016).
Marketing and operations:- Marketing is having major role to promote Unilever's
product and services. On the other side, operations play an important role to prepare the
respective products and services for the customers. Operation department depends on
marketing department for promoting products and doing research of market so that they
can accordingly bring the respective changes in the offerings. On other hand, marketing
depends on operation department for various promotional activities.
Human resource and Finance:- Human resource in Unilever play an important role to
recruit right candidate for the organisation and also to allocate different business
resources. On other side finance department play an important for managing Unilever's
funds(Lahlafi and Rushton, 2015). Human resource depends on Finance to have funds so
that they can conduct recruitment and selection process. While, finance department
depends on human resource department in order to recruit a knowledgable and skilled
financial advisor.

Necessary academic skills and techniques for successful undergraduate students
The necessary skills and techniques for being a successful undergraduate student are as
following:-
Time management skills:- It is very important for an undergraduate student to have time
management skills in order to mange the respective work on time and also effectively.
Writing and reading skills:- It is also important to have writing skills with effective
spelling, grammar and punctuation knowledge. On the other hand reading skills also
helps undergraduate to think critically(Elia, Massini and Narula, 2017).
Interpersonal skills:- It is very important for undergraduate student to have a proper
listening skills, problem-solving skills and also to speak more effectively.
Computer skills:- The basic knowledge related to MS office, SQL etc. is very important
for student for its long term growth(Study skills, 2019).
CONCLUSION
From the above report it is been concluded that different business functions in Unilever is
having interrelationship in order to work effectively for business growth. Report also concluded
that there are different skills and techniques that undergraduate student have to adopt and
enhance in order to work effectively in achieving their academic goals.
